Aquariums are important. When marine lives get washed ashore or when an animal is hurt/distressed, the employees that work in these facilities are the fastest and most experienced people who can save/help them. There has been a case of dolphins dying in huge numbers after getting washed ashore and due to lack of people who could help them and the fact that they closed the aquariums nearby due to protest, many of he dolphins died. Although such animals should not be kept in small tanks and become an entertainment for humans, it’s not a reason that Aquariums should be closed down.
I agree that aquariums are important for rescue efforts. When an animal comes into care for whatever reason and can't be rehabbed and sent back to their wild habitat you can either 1 continue to care for the animal 2 set them free at a disadvantage to be pretty much instantly picked off, or 3 euthanize. Keep in mind many many animals who come into care have been injured somehow by humans! Indirect or direct, purposefully or accidentally....mostly through pollution or other damage to their home or interruption of their migration etc! So you can say its not our place to interfere in the first place but that's simply not true. So there is a demand for these facilities aside from kidnapping animals for humans purposes or entertainment. Yes aquarium life is a contrived situation and less than ideal but a responsible facility will make the best of it by showing these animals human love and friendship and as much companionship with other animals as possible. They will also conduct research to help advance our knowledge of the animals and help with the wild populations. You might even be able to get some breeding done to keep a population from going extinct. And the entertainment factor is great when you consider that audience revenue can be used to fund the animals' care and whatever else to keep the facility open. Also when people are allowed up close experiences with animals we start to care more about them and it is more likely to stir within us a desire to protect them.

In truth Kelsey, even aloof cool cats do think about their human all the time even though they don't show it. My brother had a cat who was closed to him. She always climbed on top of the piano whenever he's playing on it. She hung out with him in his room but was never clingy When he left for college overseas, the cat sat on the piano 24/7. She ate maybe only once a day. She searched for him in his room and climbed back on top of the piano and waited for him for 4 months, always looking at the door while she perched on the piano. We tried to cajole her into playing with us & other cats. We even adopted a new kitten to try to snap her out of it. She then disappeared and was never seen again. She was heartbroken. My brother was inconsolable. We didn't know or understand the emotional depth and bond she had with him. So yes, animals do think about their human. And Belugas being smarter than cats would definitely have a more significant emotional bond with their trainer/human

So far this is the first comment that made a lot of sense
They can be set free, it's called a sea sanctuary, a place where these beautiful animals can be rehabilitated in their natural environment, and regardless of whether they can be truly released, at least they'd be living in the ocean and not a chlorinated concrete box.
Bs..you and nobody knows what they feel...ones for sure..thats not their natural environment..let it go...bs money machine
@@ThreeOneThird313 Most of these animals are actually unable to go free that's just that
I agree.. I really think its about ignorance when people comment this in these situations.. Its some peoples first instinct to wanna say "Free them!" Without educationing themselves as to how and why they made it to these aquariums.. It isn't to be selfish and keep them captive
I love love love beluga whales. They are just so bloody beautiful!!!
It’s so hard to see them in captivity, but seeing how much you love Maple makes me wish all caretakers were like you. She may not know how much you love her, but her well being and happiness shows it!
That was cute and adorable it depends what type of species of animals they have I love all animals.🥰🥰
I love beluga whales. They have so much personalty and they are very funny. Not to mention very friendly and interactive.
I like how there captivity is clean and wide! I usually see them stuck in small places with dirty tanks
Aaaah too cute and beautiful this is one of my favourite videos @ Kelsey and beautiful Buluga Whale thank you so much for sharing the beautiful video @ Georgia Aquarium 👍👍😀😀🌹🌹❤️❤️
I love the work these people do! Its a shame to see them forced to live in these aquariums but outside they would probably be dead today, but hopefully soon conditions would allow them to make a comeback
If I am not geared to be a doctor I would definitely be in the kind of job she has. I feel happy listening to her experiences working with these amazing creatures
Honestly, I watched this video every day every hour. It gives me so much good vibes.
You have THE best job in the world!!! May God bless sweet Maple!
It's amazing.. I mean I want to experience dat.. If I have to born again in another lifetime I will do it just to find a friendship like dat.. lots of love.. 🤗💕
Omg how friendly she is all your hard work has payed off in dividends you are both wonderful thank you for sharing with us xx
I love animals because they do not double face like humans.. they are more sensitive than us..❤
I love watching the interaction. Kelsey can never move away, never! I think Maple would be depressed without her. I have heard of such things with even a porpoise and a trainer. This is for life!
I love it when Maple spits water at her partner
They are the dogs of the sea...pure hearted and unconditional love
Wonderful 👍😍 Everyone can see the great relationship and that the belugas are doing well in your care.
That Beluga whale named Bestie is such a sweet whale and wonderful for her trainer!!!
Was very excited to visit the Georgia Aquarium....
whales are so cute. protect all animals
Thank you for being their guardian angels!
I just love the Beluga whales. They are so darn cute! I love it how they're the only whale that can move their head side to side.
What a beautifull creature :)
I love Beluga Whales! And don't listen to anyone who is saying different I think you are doing great work and obviously respect these animals for who and what they are.
Yeah- respect them enough to kill them -which makes NO damn sense lady! Weird0 doesnt know that they DIE in captivity. UN effing believable the ignorance!!
In truth Kelsey, even aloof cool cats do think about their human all the time even though they don't show it.
My brother had a cat who was closed to him. She always climbed on top of the piano whenever he's playing on it. She hung out with him in his room but was never clingy
When he left for college overseas, the cat sat on the piano 24/7.
Beluga whales are so cute.
Kelsey your awesome! I work in Cook Inlet Alaska and see beluga whales all the time, the sound crazy underwater! Great video, I had no idea they where so intelligent
I hear that they can deafen you if you're close enough lol
those are intelligent animals, lucky girl having to spend time with them.. 😊
I feel in love with beluga
The first time I saw a beluga whale was at the Georiga Aquarium when I was in 5th grade on a field trip. The exhibit was new and I instantly fell in love with them!!! I’m 20 now and to do this day, they are my absolute favorite ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I can only imagine A huge fish - shaped marshmallow that can swim!
Speaking of big fish you should check it out with giant groupers there's some groupers that are big enough to eat sharks
They act like babies, dear little things, I love animals
