Lenny wrote this beautiful song for Lisa Bonet after she broke up with him over his cheating. Although they remain very close, I will always believe that he is still in love with her. The fact that he's never remarried is why I think so. Idk, I could just find the idea wildly romantic, lol. I adore this song.
"Can't Get You Off My Mind", "I Belong To You" and "Thinking Of You" are three of my favorite songs from Lenny. All are worth reacting to. "Thinking Of You" is particularly moving for those who have lost their mother (RIP mom).
As far as I know, Lenny Kravitz was NEVER underrated.. he had a voice , the lyrics, the music, the band, of course.. he was so easy on the eyes but most of all he had the talent and genius to bring so many elements of his multi cultured upbringing and even his familys' heart and soul into the music he created .. and not only was he great at original music.. he did something special with borrowed anthem "American Woman" by The Guess Who... The video is really cool but more like icing on the cake! And a beautiful song.. probably my favorite of his is.. "Again" Also, I believe I've seen him perform duets with James Brown and/or Tom Jones.. DON'T QUOTE ME!! ;P
I would suggest checking out Lenny Kravitz's cover of "American Woman". But my personal favorite of his is "I Belong To You". Both songs are great and are soo different from each other.
With the exception of the horns and strings, lenny played everything else on this song. He is underrated in my opinion. He is a solid musician and singer!
I was a little too young to go when it happened, But my dad and sister Saw Lenny open up for tom petty. It was tom petty's full moon fever album tour And Lenny's 1st big tour I believe. Crazy.
Love this song, a real throwback to Motown sound, imo. I really like his first couple albums. “What Goes Around Comes Around” is another good one, but this one is my favorite.
I love the footage from Prince @ Paisley Park bringing in 2000 with them both singing American Woman. They were great friends & in one of Lenny's homes he has a pair of Prince's red boots & his blue guitar!
Lenny is THE MAN!!! My favorites, in no particular order, are "Dig In" (2001), "Are You Gonna Go My Way" (1993), "It Ain't Over Til It's Over" (1991) and "Fly Away" (1998)!!!
You should definitely check out "That's The Way Of The World" by Earth, Wind & Fire. Musically, it was the inspiration behind "It Ain't Over Til It's Over".
I have a question here from europe to you as a follower from you since 2 years. Can you please hear one time and realize a reactvideo to the song "The road to hell" from Chris Rea? Thats all I have to wish. I mean since 2 years i havent seen one time this marvelous singer/songwriter at your channel and im only wish me this video. Thx
Lisa will always be the one who got away since he was young, but messed up. Sometimes you don't get a 2nd chance. He has always been (as said by Zoe) a great father since he raised her alone a lot of her adolescent years. She lived with him & said he's actually pretty normal with rules & curfews as a father would be. He definitely adores her & they seem to have a great relationship. Nobody talks about the years of why he raised her as it was reported that Lisa had some issues with substance abuse during those times, actually reported all of them have used, but Lisa got stuck for awhile.
He’s an amazing artist and the epitome of cool. I’ve loved him since he came out. PLEASE check out one of his earliest hits, Let Love Rule, under the name Romeo Blue. Still one of my favorites!
Glad to see you giving Lenny Kravitz some love! This allegedly was a song written to Lisa Bonet in an attempt to save their marriage. Great reaction! Try Lenny's hit song "Low" featuring the background vocals of Michael Jackson.
Lenny was one of the few in that decade to keep the music clean without cussing nor getting into lyrics about drugs , gangs , and a lot of the stuff people used to come up on those times . Not the only one but one of the few who did it best along with musicians like prince . Its crazy that Kravitz was a warm up for prince in a 90s tour. Must have been sick show . Similar to the ones i saw like stevie rat vaughn as a warm up or big head Todd who didnt have as many hits as Kravitz but they played out and had sone top tunes as a primary warm up band for much of thier career . Still going i think . Saw them all in 90s .
One of the evergreens. But don't miss to re-discover one of his biggest, almost nowerdays forgotten successes: "If you can't say no". This dark track was huge in the 90ies. For me, still the best Kravitz track ever... ua-cam.com/video/uAhzBVALop4/v-deo.html
Of the incredible Mama Said album from 1991. It's a masterpiece. Songs like Always On The Run, Flowers for Zöe (his daughter), Fields of Joy, The Difference Is Why to mention a few
Lenny has a lot of variety…saw him finally in concert on 2019 in L.A….it was epic! Try an early Lenny song such as the uptempo “Mr. Cab Driver”, you won’t regret!!
As a child Lenny listen to great music from both worlds. His father was white and his mother was black. Her name was Roxie Roker, she played on The Jefferson's a tv show in the 1970's. What's really funny on the tv show she was married to a white man. And that's the way it was in real life.
Lisa Bonet is the luckiest woman on this planet. To have married the two sexiest men on earth... man she is blessed! Kravitz is just incredible. His range is amazing. I always liked this one... great reaction as usual!
When I heard the first few seconds of this song at a hotel gym in Niagara Falls back in August I was instantly in love I decided to listen to more Lenny Kravitz and I love him
Lenny Kravits I saw in concert 🎶 many years ago...outdoors in Gainesville Florida~he sounds just as incredible live & is absolutely a beautiful man😍Every person watching was moving to his voice music & moves🤩
I've always loved this song. The whole Mama Said album is amazing, imho his best work. He also played all the instruments himself, except the horns & strings.
Let Love Rule from his debut album, I feel, is one of his best and only second to this song in my very humble opinion. Let Love Rule is also the title of his recent memoirs/book.
GReat reaction! I love this song! Please check out his song "Lady," which is about dating Nicole Kidman, and the song that introduced him to all of us in the early 90s late '80s, "Let Love Rule"--it's amazing!
My favorite of his is "Again". Of all of his songs that one really has that emotional touch and reminds me of those brief moments where we had and lost someone special that we never can get back.
Lenny Kravitz, he was in love with Lisa Bonet and the song was written after they broke up. You can really hear how great his voice is on this song. He really expresses his love. Hell, I was in love with Lisa Bonet also.
I absolutely love this song! It brings me back to some good memories back in the 90's. I would crank this up while cruising the beach letting the bass hit. Damn I love this song.
Been listening to Kravitz for decades.. Happily married for over 27 years with 3 amazing children. You should check out Fields of Joy..it's my favorite.
Here's a partypoop: All instruments in the studio recording are played by HIM, except for the horns and the strings. Those bandmates are just proverbial 'mimes'.
This is not just the singer....the whole band playing, REAL instruments.....missing in modern day computerised music....harder to feel the whole vibe....only the SA people have been able to do it on computer. Miss seeing live bands and hearing live music. Let summer come quick.
"Fly Away" was the song that introduced me to Lenny. Love that song. Definitely would not mind a reaction to that, but I really want to offer the song "Thinking Of You". It is a dedication to his mother 🙏🏾RIP. "fun fact", Lenny's mom is Roxie Roker, who was a main character on the 70s show, The Jeffersons, as "Helen".

Well, maybe he has another chance with her now that her marriage to Jason Momoa is over.
@@mjmmjm5370 Jason and Lisa are back together
Wow I never new about that
@@Jahani31 Oh really!!! 😮 For how long, I wonder.
@@mjmmjm5370 apparently they just decided to work it out. Or share it. I hope they do, I love them together
Lenny has so many dimensions, like all the great artists. You don’t know Lenny until you hear his entire collection. ❤️🤷♀️
In my opinion, this is his masterpiece. Just beautiful!
Love love Lenny Kravitz! Also check out his songs “Fly Away” and his version of “American Woman” 🔥🔥🔥
I didn’t realise American Woman was a cover I thought it was his song. But still it suits his style of music.
@@softshallow7435 me too I thought he sung "American Woman" 😂❤ did a great job though.
Him and Lisa Bonet were about the hottest couple ever (although her and Jason Mamoa might be, lol).
"Can't Get You Off My Mind", "I Belong To You" and "Thinking Of You" are three of my favorite songs from Lenny. All are worth reacting to. "Thinking Of You" is particularly moving for those who have lost their mother (RIP mom).
That's the one I knew I was forgetting... Can't Get You Off My Mind.. I had that on every Playlist that wasn't high cardio
My mom passed friday the 13th july 2007!

Gotta do “let love rule”. It was his first hit back in the day.
ARGUABLY his best song! 💯😎
And FOR REAL arguably the best Bass break ever!!! 💯💯💯
Saw him live in the late 90's. No exaggeration, the best concert ive ever been to. He blew the roof off.
😍😍😍😍😍😍😍 I believe you 100%

His first three albums -:)
Time to open up the entire Lenny Kravitz catalog, Jay. Not only is Lenny the epitome of cool, but the man is a legendary musician and vocalist.
His version of The Who 's "American Woman" is a classic. 👍💞 In addition to Lenny, another incredible voice is Maxwell, "Whenever, Wherever, Whatever."
You mean Guess Who. Not The Who.
@@KelliViti you're right 👍 TKS for the correction. Hard to remember who's Who 🤣😊

Lenny is smoking hot.Jay you came with all bangers today.💃I love the female drummer in the band too.
There was a Prince concert once in Atlanta in the 90s where Lenny Kravitz was the opening act. CAN.YOU.IMAGINE????? ❤️🤯🤩🤤
That has to be where they sang American woman together!!! One of my all time favorites!
I can,RIP prince
Lenny and Prince were high school friends!
@@bakivaotuua9120 no offense but I don’t think that is correct. They didn’t meet until 1990. Prince would have been about 32 and Lenny about 26.
No they weren't, Lenny Kravitz and Slash from Guns N Roses were high school friends in the same classes as well
Lenny's dad is white, and his mom is African American. She played Helen Willis on the sitcom "The Jefferson's" for 11 years. Love them all 🥰
Her name is Roxie Roker
People think Lenny Kravitz is a stage name but it's his real name. He was Romeo Blue before his dad convinced him to use his real name.
"Fly away" is another Kravits banger/bop.
🤎🤎🤎🖤🖤🖤
WOW 😳 what a HUNKY MAN ❤️ Love this song💙💙. Thanks for another great song and reaction Jay!! 💛💛💛
Lenny is THE MAN!!!
My favorites, in no particular order, are "Dig In" (2001), "Are You Gonna Go My Way" (1993), "It Ain't Over Til It's Over" (1991) and "Fly Away" (1998)!!!
