  • The turnover pass may be one of the most effective passes that you can pick up pretty much within a day! I know personally, I struggled with the classic pass for quite some time, but the pass was just amazing! It didnt require too much practice or too little practice, right in the middle level of practice lol... ENJOY!

Great video. Quick tip: A great justification for turning the deck over is to act like you're showing the spectator the top and bottom card. So you flip the top card over, "your card is not on top" Flip, do the turnover "and it's not on the bottom". So the movement is now justified and not just you fussing with a deck. Hope that helps someone!

That's a great tip! How I have used it was in my ACR where I show the spectator that the selected card is in the center of the deck. Then use this pass to control it to the top. Thanks for the tip!

The tip about moving the bottom packet back slightly before making the move is what really did it for me. Never heard anyone else mention that but so glad you did. Thanks.

I'm using this for an ACAAN effect that I bought from Ellusionist that turned out to be ACAANALATNIBTSAFO (Any Card At Any Number As Long As The Number Is Between 27 And 51). In that effect, *if* they choose the right suit (Hearts or Spades), you can do any number between 13 and 26 ... anyway, it's a mess. (Otherwise, you have to keep doing that "Pick another ... pick another" until it falls into the right range, which you can't repeat or else the spectators will see something is super-fishy.) But using the turnover pass AFTER they tell you the card and number, you pretty much can do a range between the value of the card they pick (5 for 5 of spades say) and 52. So I guess not QUITE an ACAAN, but dern close. Thanks for this awesome tutorial!

One tip is when doing the move.

Great tutorial! I tilt the deck somewhat downward which covers any possible telltale moves, also I find that if I curl my index finger under the bottom packet prior to the shift, there is no apparent movement of anything happening.

Yup that definitely will make the pass much more difficult to detect

I really struggle with this move because I have really thin fingers, so even closing them up fully doesn’t give me an awful lot of room to work with! I’m getting better with practice but I do tend to show a little bit when doing it. Any tips?

Its a bit strange because the spectator picks the card and you obviously get to see it so dont like doing tricks like that alot
