As someone who liked the original show and the anime, I still liked it for what it was; a silly superhero show that at least had a more natural ground without being insanely self-aware. When it's good (most notably the "Power Of Four" special, which helped me a lot to get through Hurricane Maria), it can be pretty good. When it gets iffy...eh, it's only slightly annoying. With that said, yeah, the show should have been a full-fledged reboot and have it be it's own universe instead of being a continuation, in fact, that's how I treat it (Ditto to the "Dance Pantsed" episode, I consider that one an AU as well), which helps out even if it does a few references to the original here and there. I still think the main writing team, Haley Mancini and Jake Goldman tried their best, although the show definately needed a few more writers to balance it out and at least a lot of talented storyboarders came from this reboot, too. Regardless, I don't think it stains on the PPG name at all, it's a brand still way too strong in my eyes, and the hatedom for this silly variation of the original show should just stop, because sadly, the hatedom made me paranoid that liking the reboot makes me a bad person, apperantly. As a result, I just plain hate the fanabase because they're honestly the most toxic fanbase to me. With that said, God, I hope Craig doesn't make fun of this reboot the next time we works on PPG. Instead, just make a Spider-Verse-like story with all the PPG heroes working together, that way everyone wins.
Great video. Not only does the show have an identity crisis it included the tone. The random humor doesn’t mesh well with the slice-of-life elements

Yeah great explanation of the show problems
