I got a great book idea, LEAN for new parents. When I had my son I used LEAN principles in terms of being ready, having stuff at hand etc. It made it easy to get him through the first year with LEAN ideas. For example I had a bracelet with a flashlight in it so I did not have troubles jumping out of bed when my son woke up at 3 am. I think LEAN ideas applied to new or first time parents in book form would be huge.
17:40 Japan & Lean are built on two things: 1) respect for people, 2) respect for resources. 23:40 Getting your values and culture right. You can't build a culture that cares about people when you're trying to hurt someone that taught you how to be a decent human being.
Great Podcast Guys. We had the pleasure to visit Seating Matters in February. Looking forward to meeting everyone at the 2 Second Lean Summit in Limavady next week.
Great podcast, guys. I've been a fan of Paul, and his 2 Second Lean, for years. Recommended it to my Supply Chain students every year for years, and have heard from several that it has been transformative. I've enjoyed many of Ryan's videos at the factory. UA-cam knocked it out of the park with this recommendation. Keep up the good work!
Thanks so much for listening! Hope you check out our other episodes too. Think you'd really enjoy the "leave it better than you found it" one. Who knows, maybe you can organise a student trip to the factory some day in the future too!
I understand Paul, it takes time to practice and see the results, then you are convinced and understand the process. Some companies have adopted ISO standards for marketing purposes. However, their quality, customer satisfaction and efficiency have improved even without intention
Thank you sir! Hope you check out some of our other episodes too. Episode 3 might be of interest to you: "wherever you ask the question that's where the answer should be." Cheers!
Awesome series. I have been fortunate to have experienced lean manufacturing for nearly 20 years in Japan, having visited nearly all Toyota engine plants as a quality engineer for one of their tier 1 suppliers. I never thought that I was sitting in a goldmine of knowledge. When I was still in Japan I took lean manufacturing ideas for granted because everyone was doing it, and it was just so common, not only in factories but it shows everywhere, from schools, supermarkets, hospitals, daily products, everywhere. I am now back to my home country Indonesia and it is so different and so inefficient here. I am itching to instill the idea of lean over here, what difference it would make!. As mentioned in the dialogue, the idea of having a leader of a country to embrace lean (not only in manufacturing but also in daily life) is just mindboggling phenomenal!
podcast is severely underrated. Immense value.
You guys all three.. are amazing !! Thanks for showing me a clear path on how to start transitioning from crazy chaos to peaceful order.
Amazing podcast - thanks for putting this together.

Less Ego As Normal! A meekness that becomes a superpower.
