I'm in. Wow I wish my Mrs would go out and buy me camping gear 😁😁😁 both them tents look great! Nice to see you and Fudge haven't given up making video's ATB Darren
Hi Glen, long time no see, glad you're keeping well, did have a laugh at your 'Civvie' hair, looking forward to seeing the tent in action. Look after yourself. I'm in. Laters.
Im in. the hexy is a fantastic tent, used one 100 camps on dartmmor, a westhighland way and a TGO, lasted me 5 yrs of happy camping, only just switched to a Doumid, just cos of weight, but still got the hexy. The storm line on the sides are not needed really, if you pitch with all the ground lvl peg out points, which is 11, it goes no where. I also found by using the pole link for linking 2 poles together, made for a much much stronger pole and a sturdy tent. Also, mind yr hands on those pegs, I have hurt my hand pushing them in. Only issue if you'd call it one, is the outer gets wet with condensation easy, not that it gets onto the inner alot, i found it easier to pack outer and inner in sep bags to keep the inner nice and dry at all times> other than that, its a fantastic tent, its held its own against far more expensive tents, pretty much in everyone of my camping vids..lol...you will enjoy it!!....ATB WJ
Which trecking pole did you use as the support? Seems a lot have to join two poles together with an adapter to get enough height. Yours seems to be long enough by itself.
Hi, its just a bog standard walking pole, i'll have to have look at it next time im in the shed and let you know, it is at its maximum and very sturdy.
I'm In, I have this tent to and its very roomy for storing your kit and do your Admin, plus Great head room two, I Bought the tent after recommendation from Wandering Jay who has also commented Below,My first time out with the Hex peak it Leaked Around the Crown and down the stitching of the Zip But after seam sealing it has been fine, unlike WJ I tend to use all guy out points and peg out points, Belt and Braces Me LOL, I still only use just the Trekking pole with out the Extension but as Jay says it probably makes for a more solid pole, Tip I push the Y Pegs in using a Plastic TEE Connector it does save your hands from being cut as they can get a bit sharp and raged, condensation I find can be reduced a little by using a Footprint in the Vestibule, at least thats my Logick, it does shed the wind well two, Look forward to seeing how you get on with it, Stay Safe and Well, Les.
Great vid, thanks for sharing with us. Fudge is almost the spitting image of Ben, my Springer. He went with me all the way on Wainwright's C2C, but I think 192 miles was a bit tough for him and his paws in particular. Has Fudge accompanied you on any long distance hikes?
Hi, we have done Hadrians Wall together, I can see Fudge is getting to her senior years now, I tend to keep her on a lead when walking otherwise she runs herself ragged in the first couple of hours and has no energy left for the rest of the camp. you being an owner of a springer yourself you well know that they don't stop! ATB
Aside from my separate "I'm in" coment. Do you think the hex peak style tent is big enough for a big 6'3" bloke and his kit? I'm pushing it length wise in a banshee 300 and that's me sleeping diagonal lol. Cheers, Shaun.
Shaun_Explores I’ve seen a guy on UA-cam who is 6’2 and he says that he is a little too big for it, so air on the side of caution! You could always use it without the inner and use a bivi bag inside? ATB
@@thenorth-facewanderer6965 ah, fair enough, thanks for the reply. I need to try one out for size for a night and see if i really need to be streched out in my sleep. I may get away with it 😁
