I don't know why my reply got cut off, but I made a point about Funko Pops at the very least holding value because you can display them. Even if you grow out of it and give up a large collection of the "kiddy" Pokemon stuff or a giant wall of in the box, someone else will buy and display them themselves. No one above the age of 20 owns more than one Beanie Baby (98% of which would be a childhood toy you can't throw away, 1% of them will be like my mom putting a hippo on her dashboard as an inside joke, and the other 1% have a box in a closet they will never open because it was their parents investment in their future). But if an elite businessman in a swanky Manhattan office and get away with having a Peter Venkman or Batman or Michael Jackson pop on your bookcase, anyone can. That's why Funko's are just above "worthless"ness. Might have no real purpose at all and I might think they are idiotic, but I understand they can display and they're essentially advertising.

The Beanie Baby craze, and all those other speculative-market crazes from the 90s were entirely fueled by baby boomers being scarred for life because their parents all threw away their first-edition Action Comics 1, original Star Wars figurines, and all those other things that turned out to be worth thousands of dollars when they grew up (even though the only reason they're worth that much in the first place was because their parents threw them away). Ohhhhhh myyyyyyy goooooooooood! After rewatching this video, I realized I think you're really onto something as there are 9 circles of hell. And this video features 8 VHS. Eeeeeekkk! I think the missing 9th one is a clue. But to what? What does it all mean?!?! *chews off fingers* ...Maybe RLM is trying to tell us what they really feel, what represents them. *attempts to solve the mystery* 1st video) Stranger Danger possibly represents the Second Circle/Lust since there's a creepy pedo lusting after some scary alien kid. Bleck! 2nd video) Safe Crossing may represent the First Circle/Limbo since it feels like you're in limbo while watching. 3rd video) Amazing Things possible represents the Sixth circle/Heresy. After the artsy opening, the video seemed disrespectful to art itself. 4th video) Nightmare on Drug Street maybe represents the Seventh Circle/Violence. It's often portrayed that drugs lead to violence. 5th video) Traveling with Ooga Booga represents Ninth circle/Treachery cos Ooga Booga's hardly in this. 6th video) Just Kidding definitely represents Fourth circle/Greed. The video was slapped together to make an easy profit. 7th video) Bear Attacks is an easy one. It represents the Third circle/Gluttony as there were plenty of bears eat humans jokes. 8th video) How to Spot Counterfeit Beany Babies represents the Eighth circle/Fraud - well, title speaks for itself! And I know, one would think RLM would be implying they're the fraudsters, but this clearly isn't the case. So, we're left with one: Fifth Circle/Anger. Oh, is that all? RLM is angry? Oh ok... Shit! That wasn't at all enlightening...

It's been 7 years since this video released, I know, but I just thought I'd let you all know that Corny *is*, in fact, voiced by Richard Horvitz, voice actor of Invader Zim. Jack was right.
I'd just like to note that Jack was 100% correct. Richard Steven Horvitz, voice of Invader Zim himself, was in "Get Street Smart: A Kid's Guide to Stranger Danger" as Corny. IMDb lists his role as "Capricorn", which explains the name Corny. This was shortly after his work in the English dubbing of Pom Poko, the Ghibli movie about the racoons that bounce around on their nutsacks.
I had to look it up after Jack mentioned that Corny sounded like Invader Zim... and yeah, that's Richard Horvitz. Also, the Slow Burn Child Molester is Sean McNamara, who directed the film and also stuff like that religious movie where a shark ate a girl's arm.
In regards to the "slow burn" molester, did you know that Jeff Goldblum's first big movie role is as Freak #1 in Death Wish? He rapes and murders Charles Bronson's wife and daughter.

Thanks (?) for reviewing it, brought me back to '97. *shaves head, dyes hair blonde*
Y'know, I hadn't thought of this before, but Jay's comment during the Stranger Danger tape, "I guess molesters aren't picky," is actually 100% correct, because they aren't. Child abusers, abusers in general really, don't care about how their victim looks, or even if they're related - They care about having power over another person above everything else.
When they show the close-up of the VHS tapes laying on the shop floor, the floor is so reflective that they look like they've been poorly CGIed in. They don't quite look like they're touching the ground. Reminds me of the velociraptors in the American Godzilla movie!

There are 2 more full sized bins and another full one of McDonalds in the back. And that's only the stuff that was there when I started a month ago. McDonalds bin is getting stuffed full and there's a 3rd that's been started. People still don't give a shit about the things.

@@Zenon0K calm down babe they're just toys
@@clairee527 lol. I know, right? Just say "Shut up, bro!! I collect them! Don't make fun of me!!" It's okay to collect them, but they will have the same worth as Beanie Babies in (short) time. But, yeah... I said the same thing about Pogs in '97... It wasn't true then either.
I could literally write what that guy said about Beanie Babies but replace it with "Funko Pops" or whatever they're called, and it *will* be true in 20 years.
So any excuse to preserve a potentially valuable collector's item, they jumped on
@Teenlego Rich Evans is clearly part of the Greatest Generation how dare you disrespect him
@Teenlego He was born in 1977.
@@mvc9178 while the current speculative crazes are similar, their origins are certainly not - at least as far as I can tell. for gen z & millenials we're mostly chasing the dream of financial freedom *or* trying to build a personality/identity via collecting dumb popculture bullshit we like. (not saying i dont do it too).
Baby Boomers having Star Wars action figures? You’re all over the map with your ages here.
@@thomasnaporano9822 Kenner's first run of star wars action figures, all worth quite a bit now, was in 1977. What generation do you think would be getting those?

this comment sure aged well.
Rich's reaction to a car full of kids being in a car accident 35:08 gets me every time.
AT 3:10 - 3:12, the actor playing "Felipe" from the video is none other than Raymond Cruz from Breaking Bad. He is famous now as "Tuco" from Breaking Bad. I thought I recognized his face, and when he spoke in the video clip I knew I had identified Raymond Cruz.
I can tell Mike had a lot of fun editing this video, good job Stokes!
My favorite part is when Mike gaslights Rich into owning beanie babies
"Remember, I can see you"
"I know, and you can see me"
What.
That's like a line from the Wayside School books.
“I’ve always thought that unicorns were fantastical creatures!”
“Well now that we’ve seen each other” said the unicorn, “if you believe in me, I’ll believe in you.”
So when you’re walking around a big vehicle like a bus or truck, if you can make eye contact with the driver they can see you. However, large vehicles have large blind spots and if you can make eye contact with the driver they can’t see you at all and you risk being run over. This is especially important with children since they’re short.
@@depolarization but it sounds like, the driver can see me and the driver can see me lol, they both needed to say each line AND each other's lines to make sense
I do like that they apparently saved the audio from the Dr Misterio intro before destroying the tape. Very catchy tune.
I vividly remember watching a bus safety video involving a giant egg as a kid but in my memories the kids goes under the bus to get it and ends up getting run over. I can't imagine there are 2 egg based bus safety videos out there so I have no idea where this memory is coming from. Maybe the latent horror vibes of it infected my memories of the video.

this episode was like a descent to hell, even with Satan laughing at the end
Ohhhhhh myyyyyyy goooooooooood! After rewatching this video, I realized I think you're really onto something as there are 9 circles of hell. And this video features 8 VHS. Eeeeeekkk!
I think the missing 9th one is a clue. But to what? What does it all mean?!?! *chews off fingers* ...Maybe RLM is trying to tell us what they really feel, what represents them. *attempts to solve the mystery*
1st video) Stranger Danger possibly represents the Second Circle/Lust since there's a creepy pedo lusting after some scary alien kid.
The Fifth Circle is the episode of Wheel of the Worst itself. All this what clearly means is that tey are all dead and/or are trying to summon Satan.
i can't believe egg-cellent idea was filmed in fukkin Syracuse, i didn't think anyone else lived here
Hello raidou
KAZ sup nerd (˙ ͜つ˙ )
I used to live there when I was little.
I can't believe the best of Just Kidding was filmed in Canada. I didn't think anyone else lived here.
i was just about to mention how it was made in my hometown before i saw this comment. i feel honored to live in such a city where this amazing media was filmed.
Everyone in the comments is going nuts because they mentioned that this will be the last Wheel of the Worst; but remember, this is the same video where they admit how much of a bunch of liars they are, so don't trust a damn thing they say.
I love how basically none of these videos even made it to IMDB.
The ENTIRE Beanie Baby discussion mirrors the way people talk about NFTs and crypto - it's only worth anything because people are willing to pay for it 💀 at least you could line up Beanie Babies on a shelf.
Exactly
Crypto has value because I can buy drugs with it. When I tried to buy Crack with my Princess Diana beanie baby I was chased off with a machete.
That's the only reason _anything_ is worth anything…
Physical property will always be worth more than strange, ethereal items...except Funko figures
Oh God zoomers have found rlm
Wait - is the Beanie Baby host not the Dog Sitter guy?
Chris Buchanan I think it is
Chris Buchanan definitely.
very good point it does look exactly like him I thought he looked familiar
Wow lol good to know
Btw, it's confirmed, Steve Cantin is the guy in both the Dog Sitter VHS and How to Spot Counterfeit Beanie Babies. Google it
13 minutes in and OH MY GOD I just noticed Jack's TMBG t-shirt! Two of my favourite super nerdy things intersecting! Is this heaven?
31:25 Man. the contrast from that intro song to the paper hat folding, without music, man, I laughed so hard I got tears in my eyes, great stuff! XD
I agree with the bald guy, collecting something that can be used for something makes sense, like dvd-movies, music records, cups, boardgames etc. Collecting coins, stamps, etc just seems a bit pointless, but if it brings you joy, by all means go for it. If you collect purely out of speculation and "it's an investment", why not just spend your time on the stock market instead of inflating the prices artificially and ruin a hobby for others by making it inaccessible?
The intro had me laughing so hard. "...as you can plainly see, the tapes have already been attached to the wheel."
Rich Evans, Wheel of the Worst 13: "How come we can't get away from 9/11?"
Also Rich Evans, Wheel of the Worst 18: "The highest place you can imagine is on top of the World Trade Center..."
Redlettermedia are just the Best Friends of movies. We are pleased by their suffering.
Maybe there can be a crossover episode one day. ALL the warriors.
The Best Friends definitely took a hit after Liam left, but things have been getting better lately. Woolie and Pat powered through the sadness.
I've kinda come to face the truth that SBF content has drooped a bit. I think I need to listen to the podcast again to get back into them cause the LPs aren't really doing it lately. It's not that anything is worse, it's just that it isn't changing or evolving. All they need is for Pat to say those thoughts out loud, then Crazy Talk can activate and things will improve
Kubloo How haven’t I seen this comment earlier? TBFP FO LIFE!
It's true, this is why I never want to see the Super Best Friends try to branch into movies, nor do I want to see Red Letter Media try to branch into video ga- Oh... wait...
The alien control panel is an Odyssey 300 Pong machine with some extra crap stuck to it.
Come to think of it. RLM does have a PO box. I bet Rich would love to get some beanie babies.

Your name is both the best and worst thing I've ever read

I'd rather lose a family member than this series
I've already sacrificed my brother as an offering to RLM.
Does that mean my abusive dad dies AND I get more BOTW?
Particularly uncle brad
michael hall Fuck him.
Yes
I've finally figured it out. Mike and Jay are actually Fred and Barney. R.I.P. BOTW, you will be missed.
Dan Schoening surprised there isn’t fan art of that
I had to look it up after Jack mentioned that Corny sounded like Invader Zim... and yeah, that's Richard Horvitz. Also, the Slow Burn Child Molester is Sean McNamara, who directed the film and also stuff like that religious movie where a shark ate a girl's arm.
"it's made by two tower productions"
"this is gonna be a disaster"

Wheel of the worst for lyfe yo
I assume they've done that all along, we wouldn't know otherwise. If a tape is so shitty they can't do a discussion then why talk about it?
Is Wheel of the Worst 13 replacing my suicide? Let's find out!
Is Rich Evans laugh replacing my cancer? Seriously though they make dealing with this shit a whole lot more tolerable.
Arran Boon I'll kill myself with ya. We'll do it in front of a preschool, because that would be hilarious.

I'm on board. Let's do this.
Sooooo... You still kicking?
In regards to the "slow burn" molester, did you know that Jeff Goldblum's first big movie role is as Freak #1 in Death Wish? He rapes and murders Charles Bronson's wife and daughter.
Charles Bronson married his own daughter?

And you know this how?
Because he isn't fucking stupid.
I think they might actually be done with WotW. they have been getting more and more sick of it with every episode as they keep getting the most unwatchable crap in the world
Gabriel Leyva I can see that. Nothing can be as good as The Shoji Tobuchi Show.
Michael Kuzmanovski It's all downhill after the rape tape.
That zoom in on Jack is the greatest reaction gif I have
The "Slow Burn" Molester part gets me every time.
Something about Jay saying, "That was great!" makes me smile.
I remember the weird commercials for those "Just Kidding" videos, like "Just Kidding, Censored in America!" I could tell even back then it was some weird foreign thing because they dubbed random noises over the people talking and some of the "pranks" were Eurotrash crap like women walking topless in a mall. Thanks (?) for reviewing it, brought me back to '97. *shaves head, dyes hair blonde*
Stranger dangers isnt complete without a blue laser firing into the sky
Mike and Rich’s chemistry at the start of the video is fantastic.
Nah I prefer an attractive victim
Mike's face when he finds out the Beanie Baby box is collectible is classic.
Just checked IMDB. Capricorn is, in fact, played by Richard Horvitz (credited, unsurprisingly, as "Richard Stults").
And a part of me just died.
When they show the close-up of the VHS tapes laying on the shop floor, the floor is so reflective that they look like they've been poorly CGIed in. They don't quite look like they're touching the ground. Reminds me of the velociraptors in the American Godzilla movie!
Dr Mysteriou song sound like the freaking Pokémon theme
Isn't the guy in the beanie baby video also the guy in the dog sitter video!?
Yes. I went and checked.
ReadyBody holy fuck
I thought the same thing when I saw him, and apparently there's a reason I did.
"We gotta put magnetrons in the Beanie Babies!"
LMAO
Holy shit I just remembered my elementary school actually showed us the “Get Street Smart” video when I was a kid. I had completely forgotten until the long repressed memory of a weird alien getting electrocuted on power lines was reawakened by a group of Wisconsin drunks spinning a wooden wheel.
I remember watching that dinosaur egg video in elementary school, probably around 1991. It was a big assembly with the whole grade. It honestly didn't strike me as anything unusual or weird (because I was 6 or so), I just remember wanting to see the egg hatch into a dino and it never happened.
