Oh Ali, you have inspired me so much! I bought the Selphy when I saw your unboxing video and some of your other journaling videos where you were encouraging all of us to start printing at home as a way to facilitate our journaling. You're right, it is the "the bomb diggety!" I have used so many of your ideas and suggestions and am having so much fun getting my artsy back (sometimes in life you can loose your way in a particular area) and really connecting again with a very important part of myself. You are a bright light, thank you!
Hi Ali, Thanks for the great video. I've had a Selphy for about a year and LOVE it. I just wanted to let you know that you've totally inspired me to start journaling again. It's been about 6 months since I last journaled. I don't know why I stopped, but after seeing your awesome work, I picked it up again this morning and journaled. Thank you for the inspiration - keep the great vids coming!
+craftyhodges That's so wonderful!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH for sharing that with me! Truly, I feel so inspired by all of y'all! It's a synergy kind of a thing, I think! I'm so excited for your journaling pickin' back up and would love to see what you do! Do you have an IG? Thanks so much for watchin'!!! xoxo
Oh man! Hours before you posted this video I was shopping for a printer and was hoping you had an updated review of the Selphy. Since I didn't see one I ended up getting a Polaroid Zip pocket printer instead. Of course, after seeing your love for this printer and realizing just how cheap the prints are (especially when you can get multiple pictures per sheet) I ended up buying this one too. :) Thanks for being an enabler. My journals this next year are going to be extra special! Thank you so much for your videos. I love being inspired not only by your love of art but by your love for Jesus and your joy sharing him with everyone.
+Megan Alissa Swartz Oh wow! THANK YOU so much for your comment! I do love Jesus. He is my everything! And we have so much fun together!!! :) And I promise I won't covet your little Zip pocket printer. haha! I would love to hear how you like it though! Let me know! Thank you so much, again, for taking the time to comment with your kind words!!! Bless you!!!
this was so informative and entertaining to watch, this was probably the most informative review on the SELPHY printer i've found so far!! thanks girl!!
I missed having photos in my hands so when I found the selphy I was really excited but all of my photos were coming out chopped off so I tried to resize them & it was just not good. This video was the most helpful I've found, so thank you for that. But the most important thing is you've actually inspired me to start journaling again. It's been years but I'm actually really excited.
Yup, this video completely convinced me! I had been using my printer for photos but noticed they always came out sort of fuzzy. I just dealt with it until water was thrown into the mix (accidentally) and now I'm ready to move on to something better. Ordered mine last night! I love all your videos and can't wait for your next one!
Great video and when you're like "Does that make sense?" I'm totally over here nodding my head at my computer and my husband is looking at me like I'm a loon haha!
+Katie Roux haha!!! That's so awesome!!!! LOVE IT! Thanks so much for watchin' and for your comment that truly made me laugh out loud!!! BAHAHAHA! ;) xoxo
Thank you so much for this video Ali! After dissapointing results with pocket printers I found this video. I already owned a Selphy and now I have way better quality pictures to put in my journal than I did with the pocket printer. Lots of love xx
Ali! I can't believe it! After buying a Selphy and then letting it sit in the box, then setting it up and letting it sit on my desk, I have, for the first time, printed out some photos! Yes. It's true. It's pretty cool. I do love my Polaroid Zip/Pogo, though, because it's beyond cool to slip an actual printer in my pocket and because you can peel off the back and stick the photo on a page of my TN. But I have to say this is pretty great.
+Evangeline Brown Oh gurrrrl!!! You KNOW how I want that Zip printer. To be able to put a printer in my back pocket?!?!??? Uhhh, YAYESS!!! ;) I also love the fact that they are instant stickers. You tempt me....you. Tempt. Me. Haha!!! Thanks so much for sharin' your experience with printing for the first time with your Selphy!!! xoxo
Hi Ali! Just wanted to tell you I found a small light weight carrying case for my Selphy on Amazon! It's specifically made for the Selphy printer! I love it because you can store it in case to keep it clean! (I noticed you kept dusting yours off!) plus it is padded. And it was not expensive. I love my Selphy and now I can keep it stored in this cool travel case!
I enjoyed your review, both focused and unfocused, so much that I have ordered one. :) Also, thanks for all the other valuable information that you supplied. Great Job!
Thanks. It being shipped and on it's way as I type this. Your video was a big decision maker. Very honest and in depth. Some may say a little too in depth but that's what I liked about it. Thanks again.
I just stumbled on to this review and first of all, you are HILARIOUS! (And informative :) ) Second of all, I'm so glad to see and hear all you said about this printer. I bought it a bazillion months ago, (seriously, like over a year ago?), and after the sample set of prints, it stopped working. ARGH! Oh well, I didn't want to test it with another cartridge, as it seems to be stuck on the red film. I tried everything else, just short of opening the thing up. So I packed it away and forgot about it, thinking it was just some junky printer Canon was trying to use to get in on the market with crafters. But then it didn't go away from Jo Ann's and the like, so I was like, hmmmmmm. So today, after seeing you video, I thought, what the hell, I go the same results until I finally gave in and popped a new cartridge in with a new pack of paper (from the same box =-O no less) and IT WORKED! Anywho, thanks for your honest videos (I've seen two) and the "messiness" :) You're keeping it real.
I didn’t know about the SD Card. This was a close call I’m glad I watched your thorough review. I’m definitely buying this it makes more sense since I take a lot of pictures on my Canon camera. 🙌🏽 📷 I ordered this on amazon.
I so love this video!! I got a Selphy CP910 last year for Christmas, but just haven't been able to really figure out how to make it work well with my iPhone pix for exactly what you're doing. But there you go - explaining everything exactly as I needed!! Thank you so much, Ali! I'm super stoked to use my Selphy with my journal now. :-)
I just bought this same printer at Joanns and in store only it is 65.00 WOO HOO and the paper pack is 20.99 but only in store. Is that awesome or what! So excited.
So glad I seen this video, I was contemplating the little pocket printers but as you know they are more than double the price, so I think I will go this route first~
You are a bad (but so WONDERFUL) influence! I found one on Amazon on boxing day for $60 so I had to get one... I already had the LG Pocket Printer... but for $60 I couldn't pass up the Selphy. I have committed myself to adding pictures to my journalling ALL YEAR!!!
I was lucky enough to be part of AmazonPrime at the time, so I got in on the flash deal on Christmas Day :) I got the Selphy before New Years and I have been playing with it for the past week and a half and I LOVE it (now that I have it all figured out). I also have the Pocket Printer from LG, and between the 2 of them I am SET for pictures for ALL of 2016 :)
Ali, great video. I had not even thought about getting a selphy printer, but you convinced me:) I had bought some of the river paper thinking I would print from my big honkin' printer, yaaaahhhh, rub a lamp. I was way too lazy, but I know some time I will. Thanks again for doing all the trial and error and sharing. **HUGS**
I have actually had a Selphy for a number of months. Sitting in a box. lol. I need to get it out and set it up. I recently got an Instax and it prints out the cutest little polaroid type photos. I will be taking that with me for my Thanksgiving trip. But that Selphy. I need to set it up and use it at home. Thanks for the video. Everything made perfect sense to me. :D
+phennec Oh yes. That little printer is a great investment! I have the mini Instax and it is such a fun little camera! I bought it after seeing Ali Edwards use it in her Project life many many moons ago!!! :)
+FiloFaxyGirl Haha!!! #getoffthefence You know that's what I always say! ;) SUPER interested to hear how you like it...especially since your a pro photog as well. It isn't WHCC or Millers, but it's pretty dern good for a little at home printer. :)
Fantastic review - I couldn't be happier with my lil' Selphy - and I've only had it less than a week. The thing that really cinched it for me was the photo quality - while I want one of those little pocket thinger ma jigs too, I wanted mostly high quality photos. Also - years of collecting scrapbook supplies (cricut? I gots it) and not using them - I'm finally incorporating photos into my journal - so thanks for that inspiration. I do enjoy your videos so much :)
+Christianne Gerstner, CZT THANK YOU so much for your encouraging words!!! I am thrilled that you love your Selphy printer! It's such an easy way to 'scrapbook' isn't it? And I'm such a WORDS person that this just makes more sense for me. :) I do still love Project Life and try to do that. I just seem to be doing more in my TN right now. Thanks so much for watchin' and sharin'!!! xoxo
+Ali Brown Thank you for the wonderful videos - they really do inspire me. I was wondering if you've tried any other paper in the Selphy besides what comes in the print packs - Someone, and I won't mention any names (but it wasn't me) spilled water on my paper tray so I lost a few sheets. I have some HP paper and was wondering should I try to put it through.
Christianne Gerstner, CZT I don't think you can use any other paper other than the Selphy paper. I haven't tried any and I don't make big spills often...of course. Just yesterday I did. But, I have never seen anyone able to switch out the papers. The Selphy paper is water resistant but it isn't water proof. So big spills will mess the paper up but little drops won't. Whereas my Red River paper freaks out even with a little drop of water. :/ Sorry I wasn't more helpful with that question!!!
Thank you and you are very helpful - I did compare it to my HP paper and it's a different size - lengthwise. Oh well, I guess this was meant to happen - I'd rather run out of paper than run out of ink cartridge - that doesn't make sense but it makes me feel better ;)
GREAT TUTORIAL. I THINK I WILL GET ONE ALTHOUGH I HAVE THE ZINK POLAROID. THANK YOU FOR THE TUTORIAL. I ALSO THINK THAT EVERY TIME SOMEONE SAYS THEY LIKE THE TUTORIAL AND WILL GET THE PRINTER, THE COMPANY SHOULD SEND YOU A BOX OF THE CARTRIDGE AND PAPER...I JUST SAYING. LOL. HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND.
I LOVE LOVE LOVE it! It is going to be perfect once I actually get disciplined again to journal. I couldn't be more happy with it. You did good girlfriend.....bought it because of you :)
This printer is still on my wish list. I use my pogo printer regularly but that poor thing is old and it overheats and shuts down after a couple pics. Really hoping santa hubby will get it for me for christmas:) Btw, i was totally thinking journal fodder when you showed the printer film. lol:)
+foundandmade Oh no! It overheats??? That's a bummer. :( Sad Sad Manatee. Yes, Christmas would be perfect for a new printer for sure! Now I gotta look up 'journal fodder.' What is this 'journal fodder' you speak of??? ;)
Does it have the capability to do sticky prints as well? What do you use to keep your photos in your journal? Special tape? I have the sprocket right now and my wife hates it because it messes with the color
+Ali Brown I did get a portable photo printer called a Pringo by Hiti Digital , Inc., it prints 2 x 3.4 in. Photos and says I can add shiny borders and garnishes. I'll just have to see. But first I have to look at their dot com, because the directions are way too small.😆
Nice journal! I'm thinking about getting this printer to build a selfie booth... build a cabinet, stick in a tablet and write a custom app. Do you think this will work with the printer rotated about 70 degrees so that it is near vertical?
+Allen W I believe in the manual, I read that it needed to be a flat surface...so I wouldn't advise rotating it... You could always try, but at you're own risk kind of thing. ;) Thanks so much for watchin'!!! :)
Thanks for the in-depth reviews! Wow! Wondering: since the Gel pens don't seem to stick, have you found another pen that works well for writing on the pics? (I'm thinking Sharpie fine, maybe?)
I love my selphy so much, I'm thinking I want to have an even MORE portable printer when I'm away from home - I could take the selphy when I'm gone for a bit, but for short trips I'm looking at the LG vs. the Polaroid - I heard you mention the polaroid, I think - I'm doing research but can't decide which one is better.
+Christianne Gerstner, CZT Me too! Also having the little pocket printer would allow me to print out just one little pic instead of having to print out 4 at a time... :) If Santa brings me a Zip printer for Christmas, I'll let y'all know. ;) xoxo
Ali Brown Thank you - my Husband gave me one for Christmas and it's AWESOME - highly recommend it - easy to use, cute photo's - not as high def as the selphy, but for those single shots you want to print out ASAP, it's amazing!
Ali, I'm still uncertain about how to get the right ratio for my photos. Which ratios are you using? On the other hand, any photo that cuts off my head is great!
when two pictures can placed on each other for a long time (with right sides facing each other), will it have the smudging occurance (ink transfer from one picture to the other)??
+Asia Cruise The exact number of prints it says on the box is how many you get. I bought a 108 pack. So I will get 108 - 4x6 prints. The ink is actually not an ink but a dye that rolls out like a film. I show that kind of in the middle of the vid. Hope that helps! Thanks so much for watchin'!!! xoxo
Actually every time you turn on printer and shut off printer you lose a print. The cartridge rolls up one ink set each time. I saw on another video if you take the ink cartridge out before you shut it off and then turn it on then put the ink cartridge in. That way you don’t lose any ink... I tried it it works.
+Candice S You're super welcome and thank you for watching!!! :) I got it here: www.casetify.com/product/i-can-do-all-things/iphone6s/classic-snap-case It was a gift from a friend. I've dropped my phone quite a few times and thankfully, this little case really does have the strength. ;)
+Ali Brown I actually searched the other day and found it online! It's a little rich for my blood, but maybe I'll save up for it (aka: ask for it for my birthday)... 😜 But seriously, I love your videos and your dedication to your faith is so encouraging!! You've inspired me to start journaling again (mixed media and writing), get serious about my side business (I make leather goods), and most importantly reevaluate my walk with the Lord! So I want to say thank you, and tell you that your videos are helping and inspiring people! I can't be the only one. :) Also I'm just a few hours north in Austin, so if you do any meetups or activities I would love to join in! :) I just followed you on Instagram too, LeatherImagined3. And my shop is LeatherImagined on Etsy as well. Thanks again!
Hello! I loved the video! I was just wondering: would you still recommend this one or the CP1200 version? And did you also experience the glitch of the ink cartridge running out too quickly and not getting the amounts of photos it advertises? I've read about it a lot but only for this version, so I don't know if the new one had it fixed or not. Also, I've been really wanting to start a journal so I'll be checking out your journal videos!
So now that I've been printing my photos little with the collage app like this, it occurs to me that instead of letting the printer chop off the long edges of the photo, I can just leave the borders on and even make them a little wider, shrinking the photos a bit, and then I only lose a tiny bit on one of the perforated ends. ;-)
I have a bit of a weird question. if you take out the ink cartridge before it's completely finished can you put it back in without ruining it? I still have quite a bit of ink left but I want to test out my new sticker label ink without waiting for the photo ink to be used up.
+Emily w This machine does not use ink. It uses dye on film. I would not suggest taking the dye film cartridge out before it's used up. Hope that helps! Thanks for watching! :)
Ali, please help! I have the Canon Selphy and I'm having troubles! I keep getting 2 different error messages (1 is a question mark that shows up on the photo I want to print, snd the other is a data format error. I've tried using the Selphy with various collage apps. I also know the hint about the 3:2 ratio, for pictures being cut-off, but the 2 errors I am referring to are printing issues. uggh! I'm so frustrated. Thanks for any help you can offer!
Woo-to-the-hoo!! I finally got it to recognize my pictures! I upgraded to the 99 cent Pic Frame, and now, I am printing problem-free! I'm so happy.... : ) Thank you for this video, Ali!
Any black pen that is alcohol based will work. I haven't found a gel pen that works very well. But the Le Pen alcohol one works really well. You can also use StazOn ink and stamp on them. :)
You showed some things I didn't know! I do have a question. I read you shouldn't cut your Polaroid photos because you'll damage the protective layer and I was wondering if this is the same with the Selphy photos. Do you know anything about that? They used to sell different paper sizes and even sticker and card paper, but unfortunately they're discontinued. I managed to purchase a couple of credit card size paper packs.
I know that Polaroids have all the chemicals in them to develop the photo. So if you cut it, the crystals will move and it will destroy the photo. The Selphy works with a dye based ink and there are no 'loose' chemicals between any layers so I wouldn't think that would be the case. I cut Selphy paper all the time and have never noticed a problem and I have pics from almost 2 years go. :) Great question!!! :)
Ali Brown ah thanks a lot for explaining! You really helped solving another problem I had with the Selphy. It was both your unintentional fingerprint as you demonstrating the inside of the ink cartridge. I hadn't used my Selphy for a while and when I wanted to print I got these small spots on my photos. Couldn't find the solution online and the store I bought my Selphy didn't know the answer either. Thanks to you I found out it wasn't because of dust in the machine but dust on my photo paper. I now printed a bunch of photos that came out perfectly. Except for one and because of the layers of ink you showed I realise there are certain colours the Selphy can't print very well because it has a problem with the amount of mixing colours. If I would mix a paint I would use 2 parts yellow and 1 part blue and apparently the Selphy couldn't do that. I kinda like what it did print though 😊. It was just the colour of my backdrop it changed so well I can live with that 😊.
Hi there :D So umm, I want to ask that are actual printouts are only one size (4x6) then you cut them manually like you said?, or are there pre cut smaller (3x4) and (2x3) papers too? Please tell me, I'm really looking forward to buy this. Also what's your preference over Polaroid Zip or HP Sprocket? :) Thanks.
It prints 4x6 and you cut them to be 2 - 3x4s or 4 - 2x3s. There is a business card size paper that you can buy, but you also have to buy a cartridge for that paper to fit too. It's more economical to just stick with the 4x6 and cut them yourself. Oh! And I don't like pocket printers much at all. I had the Zip and barely used it. The paper is SOOO expensive. I actually sold it recently. Thanks for watching! xoxo
I've been looking for a mini photo printer and I checked JoAnn's online and saw it there ... are you still using the Canon CP910 Selphy printer or have you maybe switched to the Zip?? Still looking and trying to decide ...... thanks, Ali.
Yes! I am still using the older model. I use the Zip printer when I'm REALLY on the go. HAHA! I would highly suggest the Selphy for quality and cost effectiveness. Especially if you will be using the printer at home mostly. :)
You shouldn't have to purchase any parts. Just needs the tray and the power cord. After that just get your Selphy paper (which comes with the film dye to print): www.amazon.com/Canon-KP-108IN-Color-Sheet-Paper/dp/B001BJKO3M/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1475252795&sr=8-1&keywords=selphy%2Bpaper&th=1 The app can be searched by just typing in "canon print inkjet/selphy." it's the one with half gray and orange and the Canon logo on the bottom with a printer on it.
+Tammy Rice I believe EVERYONE needs one. But that's my own biased opinion on thinkin' everyone should have photo printing capability at a whim. Haha! ;)
I’m a little bummed. The battery set up seems a bit cumbersome, but the whole reason I wanted this printer was to print 4”x6” on the go. Outside of scrapbook stuff, which I don’t do, I don’t see much use for a tiny photo of anything. To pass around? Who wants that?!
hi ali ~ it's been almost two years (!) since this vid was posted and i'm wondering if you are still as enamored of this printer as you were back then? i've finally decided to bite the bullet and get a pocket printer and am doing research... btw... you are a HOOT! love your videos =D
I love my Selphy for traveling! I use my desktop printer for printing at home because I like the finish of my Red River paper better. But for traveling, the Selphy still wins for me because of the quality. Hope that helps!
thank you very much for this great review!!!! just wondering, what is your church name and what day do you & david lead worship, i'm planning a trip for a little vacay and thot i might drop by...pam mikel burleson, tx
+Pamela Mikel The church's name is The Rev and there is worship/prayer going on every day of the week! We have a schedule online at satabernacle.org . I lead worship every Sunday morning and also lead Fridays from 7-9. :) Would love to meet you! Let us know if you drop by!!! xoxo
when two pictures can placed on each other for a long time (with right sides facing each other), will it have the smudging occurance (ink transfer from one picture to the other)??
That's a great question! The answer is no. ☺️ The Selphy puts a protective film over each photo so there's no transference and the photo is archival quality that should last 100 years. I have even accidentally got a little water on a photo and easily wiped it dry with no damage to the photo. Hope that helps! Thanks for watching!!!

I love my Selphy. I have taken it to get togethers and taken photos and printed them on the spot. A big hit.
+Annette Trent That's such a fun idea!!!! :D Thanks for watchin'!!! xoxo
I enjoyed your review, both focused and unfocused, so much that I have ordered one. :)

You can paint matte gel on to your gloss photos and it will make them matte for use with other media on top. I've tested it and it works.
great tip! ty.
The BEST Selphy video out there today!! 👍🏼 Thank you!
+Notions with Nonny THANK YOU! That is a huge compliment!!! Thank you so much for watching! :)

Got mine today. Love it already! Rewatching for hints and tips!
+Kristin Benini WOOHOO!!! How are you likin' it so far?
+Ali Brown I'm lovin' it!!
I have had mine for a year....but you made fall in love with it all over again!!
+Notions with Nonny YAY!!!!
I didn’t know about the SD Card.

So glad you found the video helpful! Thanks so much for watchin'!!! xoxo
I just bought this same printer at Joanns and in store only it is 65.00 WOO HOO and the paper pack is 20.99 but only in store. Is that awesome or what! So excited.
So glad I seen this video, I was contemplating the little pocket printers but as you know they are more than double the price, so I think I will go this route first~
+Deb InPEI Wonderful! Let me know how you like it!!! Thanks so much for watchin'!!! XoXo
Thanks, very helpful! I just purchased mine yesterday. Already loving it.
Thank you! Your video made me wish for a Selphy which I got for Christmas. YEAY
+Ilky Way WOO HOO!!! So happy for you!!! Are you loving it? xoxo
+pamela patterson WOW!!! $60??!!???? That's amazing! So have you gotten it yet? Are you loving it?
I was lucky enough to be part of AmazonPrime at the time, so I got in on the flash deal on Christmas Day :)
I got the Selphy before New Years and I have been playing with it for the past week and a half and I LOVE it (now that I have it all figured out). I also have the Pocket Printer from LG, and between the 2 of them I am SET for pictures for ALL of 2016 :)
I love your journal! You're so creative. I'm buying this printer to make my journaling easier :) thank you for the video
Ali, great video. I had not even thought about getting a selphy printer, but you convinced me:)
I had bought some of the river paper thinking I would print from my big honkin' printer, yaaaahhhh, rub a lamp. I was way too lazy, but I know some time I will. Thanks again for doing all the trial and error and sharing.
**HUGS**
+Jenny R You're super welcome! Thank YOU for stoppin' by and watchin'!!! xoxo
This is SUCH A GREAT VIDEO! Thanks for sharing your in-depth review. 😎
I was on the fence....now I must get one!!!! Thanks for the video!
Hello Ali
I really love your spirit, very bubblie, you have a new Subscriber, keep up the Awesomeness!
Thank you so so much for your love and support!!! xoxo
I´m going to suscribe to your channel just because you had the interest of knowing how it works and sharing with us! Thanks!
Just ordered me one today for my birthday! Happy birthday to me!
+Suzanne Light Woohoo!!! Has it come in yet? Do you love it? Pray, tell! HAHA! ;)
Now I gotta look up 'journal fodder.' What is this 'journal fodder' you speak of??? ;)
this is a really good detailed video
Does it have the capability to do sticky prints as well? What do you use to keep your photos in your journal? Special tape? I have the sprocket right now and my wife hates it because it messes with the color
Very helpful video, thank you!
It's almost Christmas, I waiting to see👀 what Santa hubby ordered online for me. One can hope🤗. Have a Merry Christmas ya'll✝🌲
+Kimberly Howard Wouldn't that be wonderful?!?!?!?! Let me know! :D
Is it possible to use matte photo paper from a different brand, maybe cut so it fits exactly?
Omg!!! You’re so cute with all your side comentar y and sound effects
Haha! Thank ya!
:) If Santa brings me a Zip printer for Christmas, I'll let y'all know. ;) xoxo
I know, right? That's what I was thinking - but how did you decide you wanted the zip over the LG if ya don't mind me asking?
+Christianne Gerstner, CZT It was the photo quality and many of the reviews were better in the fact that there were less problems with the zip.
+Evangeline Brown 3:2 NO! No cutting off of your beautiful head! We need that head in this world!!!
How do you make it less gloss and mat? You mention a setting that you keep it on. What is this setting?
when two pictures can placed on each other for a long time (with right sides facing each other), will it have the smudging occurance (ink transfer from one picture to the other)??
I'm so addicted to this thing! Definitely a must have! Love your journal, what kind is it? Great creative pages =)
She's using a Midori Traveler's Notebook here. :-)
I also thinking of buying the printer. Can u please tell me whether there are any grains in the printer?
loved this review. hilarious!
Does the ink last pretty well? How many pictures can you get with on cartridge!?? 😍😍😍
@@graceehlers2855 so its ok and safe to take out the cartridge?
Hey Ali! Thanks for the vid! I have a completely unrelated question... Where did you get that phone case???? I'm in love with it!! :)
But seriously, I love your videos and your dedication to your faith is so encouraging!!
So now that I've been printing my photos little with the collage app like this, it occurs to me that instead of letting the printer chop off the long edges of the photo, I can just leave the borders on and even make them a little wider, shrinking the photos a bit, and then I only lose a tiny bit on one of the perforated ends. ;-)
I didn't know there was a matte finish paper - how do you find it?
I have a bit of a weird question. if you take out the ink cartridge before it's completely finished can you put it back in without ruining it? I still have quite a bit of ink left but I want to test out my new sticker label ink without waiting for the photo ink to be used up.
+Emily w This machine does not use ink. It uses dye on film. I would not suggest taking the dye film cartridge out before it's used up. Hope that helps! Thanks for watching! :)
How many prints can be done with a whole new cartridge?
Print a photo of the printer for the journal! then you could add the dye film for accent. :) Good tutorial, thanks.
I purchased SELPHY CP1300 and the colors are washed out, they aren’t true to the one on my phone. can u please help me with this is?
What pins did you find that work well to write on the selphy pictures?
Lovey video thank you.
Stefan, Australia
Hi there :D So umm, I want to ask that are actual printouts are only one size (4x6) then you cut them manually like you said?, or are there pre cut smaller (3x4) and (2x3) papers too? Please tell me, I'm really looking forward to buy this.
Also what's your preference over Polaroid Zip or HP Sprocket? :)
Thanks.
Thanks for watching! xoxo
Ali Brown Thanks a lot :) :D
"da bomb diggity" my new favorite word..hehe!
what if you just add a white edge al around? Then you just click of the white when i comes out, right?
I think the white edge takes away from the original picture. I tried it and it didn't really work. :/ Thanks so much for the suggestion though!!! :)
well i'm glad you've already tried, so i don't have to :p
I've been looking for a mini photo printer and I checked JoAnn's online and saw it there ... are you still using the Canon CP910 Selphy printer or have you maybe switched to the Zip?? Still looking and trying to decide ...... thanks, Ali.
Yes! I am still using the older model. I use the Zip printer when I'm REALLY on the go. HAHA! I would highly suggest the Selphy for quality and cost effectiveness. Especially if you will be using the printer at home mostly. :)
Thank you, Ali ... I hope to be going to see my new grand baby when she arrives later this month and that printer would come in SOO handy!!!
just bought the cp910, it was on display. didn't come with instructions and parts. can you list what parts I need and apps to use on my phone?
You shouldn't have to purchase any parts. Just needs the tray and the power cord. After that just get your Selphy paper (which comes with the film dye to print): www.amazon.com/Canon-KP-108IN-Color-Sheet-Paper/dp/B001BJKO3M/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1475252795&sr=8-1&keywords=selphy%2Bpaper&th=1
The app can be searched by just typing in "canon print inkjet/selphy." it's the one with half gray and orange and the Canon logo on the bottom with a printer on it.
I also need power cord. And the battery isn't working. I use my computer cord to power it up.
Very nice. I need one. :D
+Tammy Rice I believe EVERYONE needs one. But that's my own biased opinion on thinkin' everyone should have photo printing capability at a whim. Haha! ;)
That sounds wonderful. ;)
1200 Shelp cannon printer bundle in qvc
I’m a little bummed. The battery set up seems a bit cumbersome, but the whole reason I wanted this printer was to print 4”x6” on the go.
Outside of scrapbook stuff, which I don’t do, I don’t see much use for a tiny photo of anything. To pass around? Who wants that?!
It's not for everyone. I'm glad you could assess your needs by my review. :) Have a beautiful day!
hi ali ~ it's been almost two years (!) since this vid was posted and i'm wondering if you are still as enamored of this printer as you were back then? i've finally decided to bite the bullet and get a pocket printer and am doing research... btw... you are a HOOT! love your videos =D
I love my Selphy for traveling! I use my desktop printer for printing at home because I like the finish of my Red River paper better. But for traveling, the Selphy still wins for me because of the quality. Hope that helps!
it does help... thanks! will be checking out the red river paper for printing at home as well. =D
Ali...in this video I saw your boarding pass....do you work for a major airline based in Atlanta?
I do not. My dad did. He retired after 30 years. :)
thank you very much for this great review!!!! just wondering, what is your church name and what day do you & david lead worship, i'm planning a trip for a little vacay and thot i might drop by...pam mikel burleson, tx
+Pamela Mikel The church's name is The Rev and there is worship/prayer going on every day of the week! We have a schedule online at satabernacle.org . I lead worship every Sunday morning and also lead Fridays from 7-9. :) Would love to meet you! Let us know if you drop by!!! xoxo
😂😂😂 u r so funny.
Thank ya for watching! I'm always happy to bring a little joy to someone's day. :)
when two pictures can placed on each other for a long time (with right sides facing each other), will it have the smudging occurance (ink transfer from one picture to the other)??
That's a great question! The answer is no. ☺️ The Selphy puts a protective film over each photo so there's no transference and the photo is archival quality that should last 100 years. I have even accidentally got a little water on a photo and easily wiped it dry with no damage to the photo. Hope that helps! Thanks for watching!!!
