In the UK we never got any Final Fantasy titles for the SNES, nor Chrono Trigger. Why Nintendo never made PAL versions of these games baffles me. Perhaps that explains how the Mega Drive outsold the SNES outside of Japan and the US, considering some of the best games for the system weren't released everywhere. Only after FFVII did we get the older games released for the Playstation over here. Then finally got Chrono Trigger in 2009 for the DS... Better late than never I suppose.
the kids only wanted a Nintendo cus they're familiar with the brand, what with the Wii & DS, but the Mega Drive kicked the Snes' boring grey ass: Streets of Rage, Road Rash, Sonic - it was all about speed & sweet music.
Reminds me of a fair few fights I had with my brother in the 90s as well...

It's interesting how the kids wanted the Super Nintendo, rather than the Sega Genesis... it was exactly the same in the early '90s!
