In some spots like JJ < AK like the last hand I think solver likes to fold flop, we don’t even peel the flop. Just bin it. Humans get sticky with second pairs, in spots where IP has range advantage and is going to put us in hard spots OTT and OTR the AI dumps it. Like J9 vs on K92 facing a bet in a 3bet pot OOP is a flop fold 🤷♂️
Yeah folding flop feels fine oop at these stacks depths but I'm just a massive station aren't I mate.
You’re really good and an awesome board reader with solid ranges. This is just a thing, peeling with hands that can’t improve much. Solver bins them
86s hand is completely standard from villain btw - BB v CO these low suited 1 gappers are low frequency 3bets and 12bb over 2.5bb is the standard size here too given its meant to be a polar 3bet range
just clocked u were 175bb deep at the start of the hand so not too sure how much this changes things
Yeah I looked at this afterwards as well and apparently its fine but veeeery low freq. So absolutely levelled myself here and deservedly punished haha.

Yeah I was going to comment similar. Bluff selection in a polarized bb 3bet strat isn’t all that telling. Solver might choose other hands over 86 but EV diff is small as long as frequencies are in check.
As for the LJ v HJ spot, his huge sizing might be a decent exploit. The data I’ve seen shows ppl under fold earlier positions when facing a 3bet, probably because they rfi correct ranges but then can’t bring themselves to fold any suited broadway, pocket pairs, or AQo. I think you can respond to large 3bets in tight configs (when oop) with 4bet or fold for little to no EV loss... but I’d check with your coaches.

Haven't asked him but I think that deep to 4b JJ is a bit of an overplay? Not sure..

Having JJ in the last hand is also annoying because it blocks JT and QJ that could barrel it off.
In hand 1 I can see a world where this call down wins EV. This world is when he has a 3bet over 10%. But if he has a low 3bet, omega punt since you beat nothing in his range and he could still do this with AA/QQ (he's purple after all).
In hand 2 tho...I'd fold J7 on the turn. I know how ridiculous it sounds, would still do it. When seeing his raise, I literally vowed to tag myself purple if a green tag ever shows up with a single hand you beat here.
He was quite aggressive, as I thought the 86dd hand showed. Just not sure I've seen anyone bluffing this spot before and should probably have let it go if that's all I had to go by.
Yeah the J7 I kinda knew it was a punt as soon as I saw his hand but had little time to berate myself as I snap banged off the J 😅

Haha you're not being a dick lad, looked at this afterwards and it seemed fine at very low freq. Just understudied with ranges and the next hand came too early for me to realise that he probably wasn't as bad as I thought. Lesson learned!

u can get some 4bets into your JJs there CO vs bb 3b. Also not have pure call3b with AA BTN vs BB. this is a great spot to 4bet AJo KQo K9s A6s etc,,,, so why not 4bet AA as well most of the time. i think flatting AA 10%-20% gl at 10nl btw, the most frustrating place in poker, feel your pain
I reckon JJ is a mix otr, but probably mainly a fold. I like your combo with a spade no heart for a call (some of the time).

Let's think about this spot for a second. You called a *giant* 3-bet LJ vs HJ. Now the flop is king high and he makes a big bet. You call. Now the turn is another king, which is a terrible card for him to continue bluffing because you could absolutely have a king, which you're now never folding, and he bombs it again. And you call. At this point, it should be obvious to him that either you are sandbagging a boat, you have a king, or you simply think he is full of shit. You have fought back against 3 VERY aggressive actions so far in the hand, now the river bricks out and he jams for a monstrous size. Even if this is a somewhat loose or goofy player, this is only a call if you have two exact reads: That he slow-plays nutted hands rather than fastplays them, AND he has the nerve to pile it in for 200bb with air on a regular basis.
I will point out that unless he always 3-bets to this size, this sizing screams exactly 2 hands: AK and JJ.
Also you ignored your own comment that you don't want to have a diamond in your hand; are you really arriving here with that many worse hands? He's not been giving you the price to peel with any draws out of position on any street. So what worse hand could you possibly have?
I will point out that if your win rate at 10NL, aside from calling river shoves, was 5BB/100, which would be an absolutely respectable and commendable win rate in a zoom game, and then you get this specific part of the game tree wrong, now you've just undone 2,800 hands worth of work with a single call. Most sessions you need to look at your biggest losing pots and see a lot of coolers. You will have a king in this spot enough.
