  • Rob Darden took a little day trip over to Raleigh the other day, so I took it as an opportunity to point the camera at him. Whether he's 720ing huge doubles or just cruising the streets, Rob is a true OG on any terrain and always a pleasure to watch.

    Even though I haven't had a BMX for years (went back to mountain biking) I still enjoy watching people ride and still consider myself a BMXer. The thing is I don't really identify with the direction BMX seems to have taken, in my opinion for the worst, with the emphasis on tail whips and bar spins and what have you.......tricks become cliched you know. Seen one seen em all. The thing that never gets old is seeing a guy riding a bike with style. Just seeing someone pop a curb is enough to know if they embody what I am clumsily trying to portray.
    Anyway my point is that your videos and your riding give me that feeling and what's more they inspire me to ride my bike. Even though I ride MTB. When you get it you just get it.
    Thanks for the awesome videos and keep up the good work.

    These videos are always a breath of fresh air, from a lot of the other over-energetic BMX channels. Don't change a thing 👍🏻

    What gear do you use to shoot your videos?

    • @danfoleybmx
      @danfoleybmx  7 років тому

      Been mostly using a Panasonic GH2. This one was shot completely on it with the Panasonic 14-42mm and 8mm fish.

      Do you use external mic or it is just that good?

    • @danfoleybmx
      @danfoleybmx  7 років тому +1

      With the GH2 I don't use an external mic. It's crazy how good the sound is without anything. I may like it more for chill stuff like this since it picks up more of the ambient sound than a shotgun mic would.

      The sounds of the enviroment is so good I can just ignore the reality and imagine myself sitting behind the lens.

      It's crazy right! I was a little bummed when I first started really using the GH2 because I didn't have a mic for it, but then after shooting a full video with it, realized it's absolutely perfect for stuff like this. I went to edit the audio with headphones and was blown away. Impressive little camera.
