She had a stage presence like none other! So strong and powerful, people are enthralled at least I am. Queen of Broadway musicals of all time, the great Ethel Merman!! And, that dress and hair! She looks like the perfect star! We will never have entertainment like that again. So sad, so wonderful to see and remember. When I think of diva, and I use that word loosely, I think of her. She was the diva! In a very good, and deserving way
I saw this presented on PBS the very 1st time and had to wait 49 years to finally see it again!!! Thank you. There will never be another Ethel Merman!!!
She was just the best!!! OMG, I would have loved to have seen her live! I probably would’ve exploded right there. As a gay man I know almost every tune the woman sang and all the lyrics
They replayed this after her death. I remember watching it and my mom came into the room and started watching. “Boy, she still has it!” She said. I had to break it to her that she died.
Yr anfarwol, hudolus, lachar, cain, swynol, rhyfeddol Ethel Merman! Yn dragwyddol anfarwol gan ei hyspryd ! Yn adnabyddus am byth am ei phŵer llais llwyr !!!!

My folks had Pops tickets and took us to see this. She just about blew the roof off Symphony Hall. It was beyond amazing and an unforgettable event.
Saw this on TV at age 5. Was somehow ENTHRALLED by this lady. I still am. So thrilling to see it again nearly 50 years later.
I remember watching this on TV in 1975, so long ago, and even more poignant now. Thank you Ethel Merman!

To stand there and sing song after song continuously shows exactly why she was and always will be the Broadway Icon that thrilled generations!!!
No one will ever see or hear anything like this ever again ! Ethel Merman was one of the greatest broadway entertainers of all time !!!!!
It’s too bad she can’t see how much we all still love her in 2024! ❤
And what a great harpist! Anne Hobson-one of Miss Alice Chalifoux’s prize students. ❤

It's a shame that she never played Blanche in A STREETCAR NAMED DESIRE.
Stanley would've been left without his manhood.
