Dawson’s Creek novel! Yay! I love hearing all the short possibilities. We will have to swap notes on Dorothy Parker and Ursula K Le Guin with our different options. Hope you enjoy all the ones you get to! I’m so excited for all the shorties! 😊📚 Ps- the library hold problems! I relate to this.
Hurray Dawson's Creek!! 🙌😂 This was SUCH a good TBR Sarah! I'm really interested to hear your thoughts on To Sir With Love, as that's a film I've always intended to watch (and didn't know the novel was a shorty 👍🎉) Thank you for bringing the joyful energy to Shorty September 🩳 Bert xx
Loved hearing what you plan on reading! You thought of a couple prompts differently than I did so now I need to review my choices 🧐 I also have the swimming book but just never thought of putting that in the hoochie category. I suppose it does make sense 😂 Have a great week! Our first day of school is tomorrow (Monday). I’m going to have some sleepy tea and read in bed. Aiming to go to the gym at 5am 💪💪💪
I hope school went well today, 5am gym sounds very ambitious! I think however you interpret the prompts is fine, Heather isn't big on rules! I figured there might be some steam in the swimming book! Don't have any other short romances. Xx
@@YourTrueShelf haha gotta find some way to keep my blood sugar down to no stress, take care of myself all day, have fun, be super active summer levels 😅
A great variety of books! I’m curious about To Sir, With Love. I’m in the mood for shorter books after reading The Lincoln Highway, which was almost 600 pages! 😳 I probably won’t follow the prompts, but will participate with some shorter books and a Rose Tremain book of short stories. I’m still deciding on my September TBR! 😂 Happy reading! Xx 🥰📚💜
Love your top! I must find a printer to print off the ‘zine and I’ll film my TBR tonight 🤞 To Sir With Love was a movie I always watched with my mom (we’d always sing the song too). I had NO idea it was based on a book! (PS I completely get when your library holds come all at once at the wrong time😖😅). Talk soon!
I didn’t realise Wizards of Earthsea was so short! I have a bind up of the first 4, so one to bank for next year!! To Sir With Love sounds good - not heard of that one before. I also have the Paton and didn’t realise it was short!! Some awesome sounding books matey!!
Love Wizard of Earthsea of course. I saw the film of To Sir With Love and really liked it, didn't know it was a book. I'm looking forward to Shorty September but I have two chunky books to read before then. Love that there is Dawsons Creek novels haha.
I put Children of Paradise on my list of potentials as well! I found the audiobook on Scribd! Oooh if you do wnd up reading hat one and like it, I'll definitely read it then! Bahaha the Dawson's Creek book! I have one on my TBR that I also got from Sian and Bert and it's *also* basically my most questionable book 🤣❤❤. OMG West!! I really hope you like that!! (It's OK if you don't 😅 - but I'll cross my fingers!) xx
@@YourTrueShelf I know - that’s why I’m saying ditch it. Rambling story and left with a sense similar to the one I had after watching Babylon. What just happened. X
I have the same library dilemma as you for Shorty September. Several books that I have out won't work for Shorty September (too long), but I don't want to return them. What to do, what to do? 😃
Exactly!! I did send one back (this other eden) as I didn't get on with the first few pages. I also cancelled 2 other booker longlisted books. So now I just have 2 out, plus the two I'm reading. I guess worst case scenario I can always order them again!
Yes! Dilemnas of a book nerd! Been there!
Super varied list there! And love the zine. It’s nice to see how much effort goes into these things just to make them fun for everyone.
Isn't it just 🥰 looking forward to it 😊
This is so exciting! West is excellent.
Are you doing it too Doris?? X

It's dated a bit as you'd expect, but still all the cosy nostalgic love I had for it since the 90s!xx

You always seem to read pretty quickly though, so I'm sure you'll still be able to read some shorties 😊
I read West for last yr's shorty Sept. I managed to meet the author and get a signed edition. Totally different to my normal reads but I loved it
Oh cool, that's good to know!
