I got Jakes Stage II kit for my 4L80E. I am doing all the mods you did, but the accumulator block off plate. My application is a truck too. You said you where going to do the block off plate because yours is a truck. Jake told me that the block off plate mod is not as necessary on a truck application as it would be for a high performance application.
yes, from the research I gathered the modification allows faster clutch apply on the 2/3 and 3/4. this truck makes 6-700hp. I have line pressure control with my Holley. I can dial the line pressure to the point it feels slushy
I’ll add that one mod I had to do after running the transmission a short time was drill out the drain hole to 1/4” behind the front pump seal. Mine seal blew out going down the highway. After drilling it out I had no more problems with it
