annoying tattoo advice, tattoo advice, how to make tattoos, how to do a tattoo, how to outline a tattoo, tattooing outline, outline a tattoo, how to shade a tattoo - Розваги
Thank you, I hate saniderm SO MUCH. I get a red, painful rash 100% of the time after 24+ hours. T____T
@bronwenalexina I get the same reaction… it’s horrible.
I think You’re allergic to the adhesive
yeah same and it hurts like a bitch to take off and makes me feel faint EVERY TIME... I healed a full back with it but I doubt i'll use it again. Just dry healed a neck+sternum piece and it was so much easier
Ugh that sucks. I have been really lucky because I have really big tattoos and they heal quickly with little effort in a couple days. I basically just use soap and the free packet of diaper rash cream my tattoo guy gives me in the first day.
Ive healed a ton of tattoos and never used saniderm. Never had an issue healing tattoos without it.. Seems utterly pointless.
"stop using vaseline or lotion" then she recommends Aquaphor, which is literally just a mixture of Vaseline and Mineral Oil with some other inconsequential ingredients...
Buy the same thing you would put on a burn wound, Silver sulfadiazine cream is best
Vaseline is too thick though, so like the other guy said, it blocks air. Aquaphor is a nice balance. Look up the properties of it, you might actually be surprised!
@@MxALot-fp9yt you should use creams for burn wounds, they are made for open wounds and are made to moist and breathable best for healing
If you need a tire use a square instead cause its also a shape
Lotion is all you need aquaphor isn’t moisturizing is just keeps it wet lol
9:45 you can absolutely ask for a fat ass tattoo even with a lower pain tolerance. Just ask the tattoo artist if it's okay to make multiple smaller appointments. Maybe it wont work for everyone, maybe it wont work for some pieces, but you can always ask beforehand. I have 2 to 3 hours appointment every month for 4 month with my tattoo artist for a big back piece and she was happy to make it possible for me.
Like you said yourself it wouldn’t work for a lot of pieces. Though I could see it working with some styles, if it’s one cohesive design, re-applying a stencil in the exact same spot multiple sessions is a nightmare e
@@nuh-uhbro765 you know you can do prelining so you don't have to reapply a stencil. I did exactly that yesterday, my tattoo artist tattooed dotted lines everywhere so she knows where everything goes for the next time cause there's gonna be a lot of shading. It's exactly the same for tattoos that are way too big to do in one sitting like whole backs and stuff
💯my first tattoo covers my entire side. My guy is famous. We talked about it and he was totally cool. He said “you might last an hour. You might last 6 or 8. Either way, we will get this done.” When we actually got into it, he pushed me to stay longer and longer because he knew I was fine even if I wanted to go take a pee or whatever. Two sessions.
I do saniderm for about 24 hours. Tattoo artist puts it on himself.
TikTok has done more harm than good. Ive worked in shops, worked at tattoo magazines, been to probably 100 conventions. Ive met and know so many tattooers. The best tattoo advice is to talk to your artist. Dont listen to anyone online, unless they happen to be tattooers with years of experience.
this is quite true, everyone heals a bit different so their best bet is to talk about it with each individual artist until you get a routine going
19:30 when I got 1 word done on my wrist I was like “this kinda feels therapeutic in a way” but when I got a whole sleeve done, I had seen the light multiple times😂
LMAO the air thins with every press of the needle
My only tattoo is wrist and says “mom” in her handwriting. It felt like just getting scratched and afterwards felt like a scrape for a day. That being said - I KNOW a larger more detailed one in a different place would HURT
@@robbieboydudeguy so true!
@@teresamckeown5594 that’s really sweet actually.
I remember when I started my sleeve (a heavy black and grey sleeve may I add), my tattoo artist asked me
“is this your first tattoo”.
I said: “no I have a small one on my wrist”
He was like… “oh then you should be fine”
Lemme tell you that a 20 minute tattoo is not comparable to a 32 tattoo!😭
Even worse, I fully regret my sleeve now because it burns in the sun and I get infections where the ink sits every. Single. Day! So I kinda endured the whole process for nothing and this tattoo is now ruining my life because the infections are so painful and it literally takes some of the ink out so I have a few dots in the tattoo now…
I’m getting a full negative space blackwork full sleeve done in one 8 hour sitting when I go to Japan next month. Wish me luck! Lol
lol how do people go to appointments and not know what they want 😅 I literally show up with a PowerPoint presentation
I just accept I don’t understand art at all. So I Ussualy just find artists who are cool with just being giving a character and then they just have full control from there. Giving references and feedback on art gives me terrible anexity
I’ve done both. But I only use two people and both are well known and so talented. One is a friend of mine and she gave me one free
tattoo covering my forearm. She designed it based on our conversations. At some point she said “I think you either get the tattoo or don’t but over thinking it doesn’t work for a tattoo.” She gave me options, I said what I liked and didn’t. She fixed it on the day and we went with it. The guy who does all my other tattoos has been around forever. We have a similar process.
@@emeraldbonsaiYou don't need to understand art that's what the artist is there for lol. I get what you mean though it's very tough thinking of something "new" or appealing start by photo surfing try to show them what you want and explain as best as you can anxiety is gonna happen to some people, I don't fully understand how but I'm not judging just I don't get how you know lol, it's your body you will know if you won't like it try not to overthink it, it can always be covered up later if need be
If I am going to an incredible artist that I know will do amazing work, I will 100% tell them to make a design and I'll roll with it. It comes down to how much trust their is with the artist for me.
A week ago i showed up for an appointment and the artist had forgotten what i asked for, and instead of clarifying she just tried to guess and guessed wrong
As a guitarist i learned that there's no universal way of holding or playing an instrument. I noticed that with countless hours of practice failing and just doing it over and over again you learn what works the best for you. I did bought a tattoo machine just to learn new skills and I noticed a similar pattern to playing an instrument. With practice you learn how to hold the machine, how deep the needle should be, what voltages to use... It all comes down to one common thing. Practice... Practice until you can't draw no more, take a break and then do it all over again. Instead of wasting your time on TikTok, pick up the pen or the tattoo machine and practice.
Honestly I just walked into a shop my friend recommended one day, just so HAPPENED to be the one shop who’s former apprentices went on to be the best artists in the area and started their own shops, and I just happened to mention to the guy that I thought it would be cool to be a tattoo artist and suddenly I’m an apprentice. Pretty much just… happened 😭. Four years of graphic design school and I’m content just being an overqualified shop assistant.
With fresh tattoos I just wash with cold water and unscented antibacterial soap. I pat dry it with a paper towel and let it air dry for about 10 minutes then I put aquaphor on it and dab the excess off with a paper towel. I do this about 3-5 times a day for the first 3-6 days. Then for the next 5 days or so I just wash, pat dry, then put unscented lotion on it. All my tattoos heal great!
Silver sulfadiazine cream, it is used for Burns that penetrate the epidermis
that is the best thing you can do, treat it like a burn
@@darkplasmo7921 I've got a lot of tattoos man I'm just going to keep doing what I've been doing. My tattoos heal just fine. I'd be careful using heavy chemicals on fresh ink. Something about the name of what you just said sounds like something you don't want to put on a tattoo. The aquaphor is good because it's thin especially once you dab off the excess. If it works then keep doing it but the way I do it works just fine
@@JustTheTip556 it is the most basic and non-problematic wound cream on the market.
It is antimicrobial and slight pain relief, it is not a heavy chemical. aquaphor is not for open wounds use, attest something for burn wounds.
Nothing will interact with the ink, you just want to prevent infection, and burn creams are made for exactly that.
Do what you want, if you want to follow my advice is up to you
That’s me too. I luckily never needed much to heal. Never even had a lot of scabbing
@@darkplasmo7921I looked this up and see it’s only available for RX. Do you have a brand recommendation? Just curious to look into it
- ‘Happening in a garage somewhere ruining someone’s life’ 😂💀
Yes! Let your body do it's job! I've been dry healing my tattoos for over 30 years. They heal fine. And no extra costs.
The reason its not standard advice is because most people are really dumb and they will likely get it infected. Most guidelines are for the NPCs of the world not competent people. You may be surprised how uncommon common sense is
3:50 a piercing article for piercing newbie said to put Vaseline on new piercings to protect from dust, sweat or dirt. Called my piercer, they were shocked at the stupidity
Ew!! I get that advice for tattoos because your tattoos really pop when your skin is moisturized, but piercings are such a different story!! Every piercer I've ever used has just recommended saline solution and dial.
Thin layer of Vaseline never hurt me, aquaphor is literally just a different brand if Petroleum jelly. So idk what she's talking about.
Vasaline doesn't let the tatt scab up, use beard bahn bud. vasaline, it's like putting a plaster on it, no air can get to it and air is integral to the healing process.
I don't do tattoos, but I have a whole bunch.
- I have always had a bite to eat before going to get work done. You're not Superman, you're going to be undergoing a strenuous physical event. Make sure you have the energy you need to make it to the other side.
- Always be respectful, you're dealing with an *artist* who is going to create a piece of **ARTWORK** on your body, that you will have for the rest of your life. Don't shop for artwork, shop for an artist who will put what you have in your head onto your skin. Take a look at what kind of work an artist has done, talk to staff at parlours, talk to other patrons. And talk to the artists themselves. They can give you a good idea of what might need to be changed to make an idea work.
- Take good care of your ink after having it done. Listen to the guy who put the ink in you for their advice. Myself, I just keep the tattoo clean, PAT it dry, and don't scratch at it. I do use an unscented hand-cream if it gets a little dry, but that's the only "special" thing I do as aftercare. My ink is still just gorgeous, and some of mine are closing on forty now.
- My biggest advice to somebody looking to get a tattoo, is don't rip off somebody else's tattoo. Be inspired by one, sure, but don't copy it. Have your own tattoo ideas, it's like getting a custom paint-job for a car. You don't want it to look like every other car, which is why you get custom paint. Put your own spin on a tattoo idea that you like. I saw one on an 1800-year-old bog-body. Four crescents on either side of a circle, the four crescents got smaller moving out from the circle. I dropped the circle, and two of the crescents. I have six crescents in total, across the back of my shoulders and base of the neck. Same place as the guy from the Iron-age, but I still changed up the design.
I've got 23 in total. Biggest one took two six hour sessions, and was almost entirely freehanded (Polynesian 3/4-sleeve). The eye on the back of my head was a single, eight-hour torture session, my neck and shoulders were so damn sore, for days afterward. The artwork is awesome. It's worth the physical stress, in my opinion, and even at 56, I'll get more if I come up with something I want, and find the right artist to do it.
"tattooing ass cheek and stretching that shit out" XD
I'm allergic/sensitive to adhesives and it always takes at least a day to start seeing a reaction.
23:57 Last tattoo I got this guy came in probably for the 4th time to that shop to persistently ask the guy tattooing me, if he could get an apprenticeship. Guy politely said he didn't do apprenticeships but the guy did not get the hint and just stuck around. He talked about his experience, showed what he was doing and how he was learning by tattooing himself. It wasn't bad work but it was also like dude, you don't get the hint he said no. It was just an awkward half hour until we took a break and I think the tattooer said he'd call him or took his number down or something. I don't know what happened to him, unfortunately the guy tattooing me fell on hard times and ended up going back to prison but his tattoo is good. I hope he's gotten the help he needed.
I have healed all my tattoos the same...kept it clean, dry...no bandages, no ointments, just out the open, dry and clean...all of my tattoos healed amazing
2:40 yes! I always say this because it’s an open wound that needs to breath in order to heal well (also don’t like wrapping the tattoo for this reason). I always hear that people put on to much stuff and the wound gets infected or is healing way slower than it normally would.
You rule Kirk! Love the tattoo content....
I seem to agree with 98% of your advice and opinions I'll be watching every vid !
the portfolio comment 100% I walked into a tattoo place at 18 when I was thinking about it - most of my art they couldnt care less about but the couple tiny dinky doodles I did just with pencil - like a book and a clown balancing ontop of a ball they loved
I agree 100%, I have beautiful black and grey tattoos and as soon as I get home the saran wrap comes off, I shower and wash the tattoo with literally anything I can find that’s unscented then I go about my life and let it do its thing while occasionally putting lotion when needed. I think the tattoo care products is all marketing and is a waste of money. I don’t do shit to my tattoos and they all healed wonderfully. Don’t buy into Mad Rabbit or anything else like it, it’s a scam. Just let your tattoos breathe and do their own thing. When you do too much, they do too much and usually heal badly.
The thing about saniderm is it can also depend on where you use it for example my uper arm saniderm was fine and worked well my lower forearm tattoo i had a big red rash .
I got a rash on my forearm as well, but no issues in the other spots I've used it
I use two things for my healing tattoos. Unscented anti-bacterial soap and an unscented lotion. keep it clean and don't let it dry out. boom. you touch your tattoo on something, wash it. you look at it? wash your hands and put a lil lotion on it. then let it rest
I love Saniderm/Second Skin because I tend to overdo cremes and such because I get paranoid about not taking good care of my new tattoo. The second skin helps me with just leaving the thing alone and not constantly doing something to it. So in order to not overdo the after care I need to put that stuff on and forget about it 😂
Not me dabbing off some of the ointment with a paper towel off my freshie in the middle of this 😂
One of the best tattoo artist on the internet to learn from.
I feel a lot of the advice you give is just so real.
as it should be these things are for life
and the people that are giving bad advice and showing bad practices are only further diluting and ruining the process of learning for others who might want actual real information.
love your videos man never stop making them they are so insightful.
I hope to see your channel grow to be one of the biggest on here you deserve it!
much love jenxva
All you need for tattoo healing is a bottle of liquid dial soap (plain orange) and lubriderm unscented lotion. That’s it
Thats all *you* need. All skin is different.
@ridleysomeliana-lauer5814 nope, that's really all you need. Dial gold and lubriderm unscented lotion. And keep it clean. Done
2:25 ye i mostly just let it be and clean it everyday. If it tickles too much when scabbing then maby super little ammount of pepanten (just lotion type thing that u can get fron pharmacy) and if somehow i see small little infection starting i use that liquidy red/orange anti infection stuff. Otherwise just keep it clean and air dry or dry with clean toiletpaper or paper towels. Easy as can be. Same stuff that i do with every minor cut or wound.
Im so glad you talked about Second Skin! I’ve been getting tattoos since 2018 and last year was the first time an artist used Second Skin. I started getting super itchy after about a day and knew something was off… instead of just ignoring it I chose to take it off and I had a red rash where the adhesive was. Being mixed, it literally changed my skin color and that section stayed lighter than the rest of my arm all summer (a beautiful tattoo with a literal rectangle around it…). Thankfully it healed and you can’t see it anymore, but if I kept it on I think I would have been permanently scared.
Im learning so much from your videos. I love your old school sense of style and common sense approach.
GIVE ME ALL THE FLASH. Half my tattoos are flash, I want your permanent body stickers
Love your simple, down to earth advice. It is real with no bs attached!
As far as ointment, I just put a little bit of coconut oil to keep the skin from getting too dry.
I will say there have been tattoos that I’ve fallen asleep in during the outline. Shading started to wake me up a bit. But there have been majority of my tattoos where it was miserable…. Ribs.
5:26 while not properly explained in the example given, this is a strong method to figure out composition, readability, focal point etc. with very little time, since it is only a rough doodle on a square inch surface. It forces the artist to reduce a design to its base elements. There really isn't any argument to go any larger before you sketch either. I guarantee that if you try this method next time you have an idea for a design, you'll be convinced of its value.
An artist I used to go to used sani-derm on me and I had a reaction so I was scared for years to go anywhere near it. But I finally let my new artist put some on my upper thigh (since I was going to be wearing pants over it) and it healed so well! I have her put it on all of them now. It also keeps my dogs from licking the fresh tattoo because that's all they wanna do when I get home!
I’m a special effect and prosthetic artist, and we skin test for 48 hours. Even for products that are classed as ‘skin safe’.
I think the dude talking about squares was just over simplifying thumbnailing, drawing a small, rough sketch to get the balance and composition right. That may be a charitable reading of it though.
Personally, saniderm works well on my skin. The only annoying thing for me is the residue left over when you take it off. Always takes me a few showers to make it not sticky anymore.
I really like not having to do anything with my tattoo for the first few days, then just keep it clean and light moisturizing after that.
11:41 there is a tattoo artist in my area😅And he is so beautiful I have never dared to be tattooed by him. I actually had an appointment 15 years ago but cancelled a week before becus I just couldn’t take it 😂😂😂😂😂
I’m a newer tattoo artist and omg your channel is amazing
19:30 I got a 4 hour tattoo and it felt like small cat scratches the first hour or two (with some pain spikes for angles) but for the last hour it hurt pretty bad. The pain just builds up 🤷♀️
YES to stop putting weird ointments on your tats! My brother is a tattoo artist (I was used as the pigskin, got some pretty bad tats that don't reflect his work today lol), 20 years ago he was banging his head on the wall with the rush of products that hit claiming to heal tattoos aligning with a sudden uptick in infected tattoos coming back to him. 99.999999% of those were from those stupid ointments, there's literally no way he could prove it but the stats line up. I'm personally not about that saniderm life, I have a pretty terrible removal every time (probably not an allergy, it just sticks too much and takes my juicy tat scabs off) and usually ask not to use it when I visit. That said, I appreciate it sometimes for the smaller pieces in tougher spots like my leg that saran wrap would just get jacked up for the trip home and stain my clothes.
20:05 yeah I do love getting tattooed……. After it’s done and healed, that shit hurts while your doing it
Good idea for a video, if you haven't done it yet: "When are you ready for your first tattoo?"
Actually, that's TWO videos! One for the customer, one for the tattooer!
Tattoos hurt, but I do love it. It's a test for me. Two of my last three tatoos were on my knee caps. LOVED it. The amount of focus I needed to stay calm and just chill. Sitting for tattoos is my superpower. The last one was bigger and more directly on my knee and I will say it hurt a lot more directly after it was done for about an hour. Then it literally didn't hurt at all. But my muscles on the other hand...ouch
At this point I just pre-thumbs up the vid bc I already know somethings going to give me a chuckle or make me nod in agreement. Luv the vids dude 🤘🏽
Educational as well
Dont tattoo but this is one of if not my favorite channel on yt
I ONLY use saniderm if I’m traveling and can’t keep it super clean or let it breathe without it rubbing against things on planes/trains/etc.
I had the WORST allergic reaction to saniderm. yeah, it's latex-free, but adhesives are just as triggering for my skin issues. just like you said, that little test wouldn't actually work as a test, especially if my other allergies are under control. it took 12 hours before i started getting symptoms that had me wondering if i was reacting to the saniderm. i did tell the artist that i reacted to adhesives, but he rly pushed how saniderm is latex-free and used in medical settings too and shit and was like "it's just like a bandaid. how am i going to cover this if you react to adhesive" so i was like okay... i'm okay with gauze tape and stuff like that since it's temporary. just something about the full-coverage saniderm freaks my skin out
Completely Agree with what your saying. Just Keep it clean, leg it breath and design a tattoo based on good detail to size ratio and just make sure it fits and flows with the part of the body being tattooed and other tattoos around it if there are any. Nothing else really. No need for gimmicky shit and ticktoc buy this do that type of bs. So many aspects when learning to tattoo. That's why people apprentice and like with any craft or art form it takes practice and time to do it proper And perfect their artfand that is the only way you're gonna get good at what you do and realize what wks for you what doesn't and concentrate on how to tattoo properly forget all this other BS
Saniderm helps me so much in the 1st few days because I know how badly I want to overcare for and fuss over my new tattoo. Its easier for me to do less after a few days for some reason.
Hey my man, I just found your videos and been binging them haha they’re dope! I’m a tattoo artist myself so I love that you’re correcting a lot of peoples mistakes that they post. I will say, the one and only thing that surprised me was saying y’all don’t really care for a portfolio. Or like in general it’s not the most important. I only disagree because, for my shop atleast since I’ve never actually been at another, to become a shop hand, you have to want that apprenticeship, and to get that, you gotta come in with a great portfolio, not necessarily a legit book meant for that, but just all your best works of art that proves you’re actually serious about pursuing this career. I do understand where you’re coming from too. I just wanted to put that out there. Keep up the awesome videos!
Antibacterial soap is huge. I used axe soap on my first one (cuz i’m an idiot) and the whole thing had to be redone. It wasn’t a crazy complex tattoo thankfully.
That last guy talking about linesm pushing and pulling and scooby-dooing...I didn't understand one thing he said. No! I not joking. This is like teaching someone how to play the piano using only words. That CAN'T BE DONE! If I wanted to learn how to make tattoos, I would never... could never have someone talk me through it with tracing paper abd a Bic pen. Nope! Naaagunnahappen! Great content Kirk. I'm truly becoming a serious fan of your channel. I'll be doing some bingeing!..binjeing.....i don't know how to spell binging..oh yeah! Google does..OH SNAP!! I did know how! Cool beans. BYE 🎊
Keeping it clean is the name of the game. I like the dial unscented foam dont have to lather it
I've always used dial soap, aquaphor for a few days, then switch to lubriderm for as long as I can remember I recently got a tattoo. So far so good. Oh, and always in amounts that my skin will absorb and not get goo on my clothes are anything.
I'm one of the people who "likes" being tattooed. Not like it's awesome, but so far none of my 9-10 hour sessions (I travel far and can't leave after an hour if I want to get things done) were painful. I got annoyed at the buzzing and it was kinda exhausting, but not painful.
The tattooer was kinda sad that I didn't complain. He told me that most people end up having issues at some point. Only thing I really didn't enjoy were the tiny white highlights for whatever reason.
I maybe just got lucky.
I just learned this the other day but a good thing to keep an eye out for is water vs petroleum based ointments. Water-based doesn’t suffocate the tattoo
I've always used Aquaphor, which works fine for me. My last two tattoos got the second skin stuff on them, which I had never tried before. The first skin I left on for 3 days, and it was about halfway healed. The next one I left on for 5 days, and it was basically totally healed when I took it off. I did use a little Aquaphor once a day for a few days afterward, longer with the first one. It seems to work well for me, but I understand people who just want to do it the old way.
“If you know can’t sit through the whole thing” god I wish I had told myself that recently. Forcing myself to sit through getting my sternum blasted made then experience so much worse than it needed to be and I could have just… either made it multiple sessions or moved the placement. I knew I wouldn’t be able to handle it and still told myself I could and yeah now I have a sick piece that looks amazing but holy shit that almost made me not want more tattoos.
I wouldn't say i love the feeling of tattoos, but i love getting them, my first tattoo was a 3/4 arm tribal sleeve and i never took a break, i let the artist break for a smoke, but i never stopped. I don't know if it was my childhood but i don't feel much pain. Now when i fractured my ribs I FELT THAT SHIT FOR DAYS! just breathing or taking a dump was excruciating.
🤣😂 Your "Heart surgeon' analogy is PRECIOUS!! That's about as true as it gets. Your reactions to the dumbass tutorial is so effing funny!🤣😂😅 You're nit only good at being IN your videosm your editting skillz are Black Belt Right- On! The way you toss your phone aside in just sheer frustration!.. oh my stars!😅
I do like the feeling of getting tattooed but it's because I suffer from chronic pain and since tattoo pain is a pain I decided to get and can control and not something that my body imposed on me it can be cathartic 😊
With all my tattoos I just made sure to keep them clean and sometimes apply some creme because my skin gets dry fast. The only issue I ever had was my own fault, I got a little dirt on a spot and didn't see it soon enough and a scab developed. Thankfully the "damage" I had was some slight discoloration that could easily be fixed, but since it is a tattoo of an animal so it kind of just fits in with the animals skin
These days, I just use a mild soap and just enough scentless lotion to put a thin layer over new tattoos. I try not to touch it and keep it clean. They heal way better and take half the work I used to put in on my first tattoos. Only one I had that healed poorly was when I bought and used some fancy goop from the shop.
On the point of talking with your artist….
I got three tattoos from the same parlour in town, two of my own design, and one concept (which I provided several inspo photos), but this parlour doesn’t let you directly speak with the artist to collab. I offered to come in before the actual appointment and review what she had, but nope…no can do. I thought this was odd because my daughter got a beautiful Luna moth on her back in another state, and they collaborated back on forth on design via text until she said ‘yes’ and got it done. So, I got the third tattoo from this artist who did a smaller one for me, and it’s not quite what I was looking for. I wanted a lot of negative space, but she kept putting ink in me, so now it’s not reading like I wanted…looks congested. If I had been able to collaborate with her, this wouldn’t have happened (yes, I deposited with her at the consultation). The only option the parlour gave me when I asked ‘what if I don’t like the design?’ was to ask the artist to change the design after you arrive for your tattoo appointment (uh…ok?), but the image she showed me, and I agreed to, did not show the amount of shading that was going in…it was just lines. If I had seen a finished product before the needle hit my skin, I would have asked for more negative space. Bummed because it was six hours in the chair, a lot of money, and not overall happy with what I got. Looking for solutions to fix it (white ink?) but not sure it will work.
My artist said I've always wanted to tattoo an armadillo. So I said do it, he was so stoked and it turned out great
Got a sunburn on a week old tat 😅. Tat is fine.
I put a very thin layer of aveeno lotion on my tats, only once a day and they always turn out great.
Oops...my tattoo artist has only been tattooing for 3 years. I love her work though. I've had 3 sessions with her (working on a big leg piece) and I love how it's turning out. 💞💗💞 It's my first tattoo and it's so pretty
My worst tattoo experience was with someone who's been in the business for almost 2 decades. The ONLY tattoo I've scarred with, the only one I have blowouts on(some parts were expected and understandable, but the outer arm and shoulder shouldn't blowout like that). Sometimes, the time someone's been tatting for doesn't translate equally to their work or ability to work on all skin
This vid broke 3000 subs now at over 50.000 in what 4 months thats amazing dude. ❤❤
13:30 What's scary is that there are plastic surgeons (and people who pretend to be surgeons) who do that, they don't actually know what they're doing and just botch people.
All soap I use is unscented (I hate perfume)
So I just leave 2nd skin on for 4 days and afterwards wash my body like normal, no extra washing for tattoo and I use bit of unscented body lotion on my tattoos, till like a week after theyre done peeling.
Works for me
I do actually like the feeling of getting tattooed lol. At least until the 4th or 5th hour hits and my skin is locking up like I just got a back alley butt filler. But other than that, yeah, I have a long history with intentionally causing myself pain. Tattooing is a perfect and safe alternative for that, and it really doesn't phase me until I've been in the chair for +4 hours. Everybody's response to pain is different. I don't doubt that some people even enjoy it beyond my 4-5 hour window before I start having to remind myself I signed up for this.
I only use the Mad Rabbit soothing gel, it actually feels so good everything else is skippable
20:27 thats fn crazy lol. Must have been the world's most awkward tattoo from that point on
I enjoy getting tattooed. It's meditative for me. Big, all day sessions included. It's the healing that sucks. My stomach piece was super chill getting tattooed for 8 hours. But the healing for it was a fucking nightmare.
Every time I walk into a shop I know exactly what I want usually have a reference photo
The best way Inprotect a new tattoo is to keep it clean. Use Johnson's baby soap($.1.00 )and then a Lil bit'o Bag Balm, ($10) I get it at my local feed store/co-op!❤. Kirk! I would LOVE to get a tattoo at your shop. Where are you!
I love the longer videos so much!!!
the guy that did my first tattoo (very hyped about it lol) told me black people tend to have reactions to second skin more than other people. i watched that shit like it was already infected 😂
Healing a tatt should be simple easy to follow. Wash with a good antibac soap no fragrances then pat dry with paper towel then allow to air dry then apply healing cream
I had saniderm placed on my first tattoo because I was going to be flying home in a few hours after it was finished. It did not heal as well as any of my other tattoos, I’m not sure if it was because of the saniderm or if it was just because it was a diffrent artist than I usually go to. I haven’t had to use it again but I don’t think I would use it again.
I'd say the artist is the issue or some reaction to the product... Or bacteria caught under the wrap. I got a product like this on all of my tattoos, just left it alone, removed it after a couple of days, done.
I feel like your channel is gonna get huge soon. Great quality vids!!
Thank you for the feature my guy! Great content bro, instant subscribe! 🫡💯 much love
Here I am, the 1% who actually likes the feeling of getting tattooed😂 I think it's fair to say that I'm enjoying myself for most of the tattoo and I only start feeling actually bad in the last hour of the session or when a very specific spot is overworked
Aquaphor fuks me up regularly so I can only assume it would Not be good to put on an open wound tattoo
Everyone is different when it comes to pushing and pulling,,, and sometimes the hand eye coordination is different for everyone
Love all your videos, but especially the long ones. Make 'em longer, as far as I'm concerned.
I just use base non scented soap n water. I acually do enjoy the tattoo process, it's a pain that is pleasantly bearable, of course some areas aren't fun.
The thing about tattoos hurting is so weird cus I get it when people say they like it, but also by the end of a 4 hour session absolutely the hell not. The first hour of my back session when I was numbed was great, same for the entirety of my underbust, ankle and behind the ear tattoos. It kind of felt like a massage, the pressure was nice and I wouldn't of minded if they had taken twice as long lol. But the back session when I wasn't numbed just fucking sucked, the first 30 minutes was chill, but then I just wanted to cease existing lmao
I will say I'm a fan of mad rabbits repair gel, mostly because it prevents intching and soothes the burning sensation. But like the guy in the second video, you can't over do it lol. On a fresh tattoo, I'll put a thin layer if it on, let it dry, and then put a fresh second skin on it, then leave that on for a few days. Take the skin off(in the shower lol) clean it, put another thin layer of the gel on, then let it do it's thing. I'll use a regular moisturizer when it feels dry, and if it's really itchy I'll use the mad rabbit stuff.
I love second skin for me it’s makes my life easier and the itchy phase is less
Every tattoo I have had hurt, but I will say after a while there are spot that you just can’t feel anymore while others still hurt like a bitch
I use saniderm for 2-3 days use aquafor for a couple days and fragrance free lotion (lubriderm is my go too). Long as you keep it clean and out of the sunis the main thing
Your videos make me realize why my tattoo artists have all commented I take tattoos well. I am so glad to heal well with just some soap
Many of the bad reactions to saniderm are because there's green soap still on the skin, but I agree that most tattoos heal better the old fashion way.
Aftercare tips from a tatted nurse who deals with a lot of various stage wounds:
Keep it clean and you'll be keen.
I had a 6,5h tattoo done and i didn’t think it hurt that bad, i was dozing off half of the time.
