I have the same brand/model but as an electric version. I've had it around 6 months and travel extensively for work. I'm also very happy with mine and thought I'd share that here in case others are considering an electric Traveller guitar as a travel solution. FWIW I came up with a similar amplifier solution, but using a smaller iRig nano amp. I'm still playing around with alternatives there and may go back to high quality headphones. Similar to Mike, mine was well setup out of the box, just needed a truss rod adjustment and some slight tweaking of the action to suit my preferences. The nut was cut well and pretty much everything else on the guitar works well. The output jack isn't great though and I'll adjust the tension of that at some point. The only real problem I've found with mine is this guitar is VERY neck heavy. The "body" is obviously very short/light and the strap buttons close together, so using a strap doesn't help all that much and I found it difficult to play for that reason. The solution was to tie the strap to the leather strap at the end of the neck, old-skool style, and that solved the balance problem completely. This likely wouldn't be the same issue with a classical guitar with a different playing position.
Hi Pete, Thanks for the review of your setup. I have since switched to carrying the Spark Mini amp, if you want to see a great example of how it sounds try this video. ua-cam.com/video/6xgnMA_XuI8/v-deo.html You can also see how the strap works with my model, it seems to be OK for most people who I hand the guitar to. Glad you are enjoying yours. Keep on slashing! Mike
Another great video Mike, keep messing and making music my friend!. By the way, thank you for your hyvibe videos, mine finally turned up and I fitted it without any problems thanks to your great videos!. I am very happy with the sounds and looping ability (so I can practice my blues licks over a 12 bar loop!) I am just trying it through my new Boss RC300 looper (thanks to my kind wife) and the possibilities are endless!. I really enjoy your no nonsense videos Mike, pleas keep em coming!! Happy New year to you and your family....Dave (messes with music also lol)
great vid! i felt kind of inspired by the spanish/classical sound of the piece you were playing. (just learning guitar, so it might be a minute before i can tackles something like that, but it's now on the list)
Thanks LurklingX, The Spanish guitar I was playing was the first few bars of Asturias Leyenda, one of my favorites, if I work really hard for the next year I may make it half way through that piece of music, but the journey is the fun. The theme of this Messy Music channel is have fun with music, you will get good at some things and will never master others, just enjoy yourself.
Yes, absolutely the Ultra light Nylon is easy on your fingers and it has helped me improve a lot while traveling for work. It fits in the overhead on most airplanes and when I am checking a full size bag I can stick it inside the luggage.
HI Denis, I fly on Star Alliance, a lot, like United and Lufthansa. I am usually allowed two pieces of carry on. Always good to check, because you do not want them to put the guitar in the belly of the plane. Happy Trails!
Hi Noa, There are a variety of Traveler guitars, some produce more acoustic sound than others, My Ultra Lite Nylon is pretty quiet, but in a low noise environment I can practice without any amplification.
Have you tried plugging in your traveler guitar straight into the amp using a 1/4 plug cord since you play clean most of the time? The extra 5 effects plug is probably distorting the sound.
Hi Old School, Yes, in fact I have been using the Traveler as my Studio Guitar working on music production on Ableton even though it is a passive output it works great. Also I have plugged it straight into a Fender 25B amp and it has a nice warm tone. I have also used a U2 Wireless Transmit/Receiver set and that works quite well too. The little effects amp is really best for headphones while traveling or for early morning practice, to spare my wife's rest.
thnks. total best , take care! 🔥
You are very welcome and thanks for the fire emoji, it is cold here today 🥶
Thank you Mike! Great video! I'm thinking of getting one, pretty sure you just sold me on it
Glad I could help! I love mine despite the quality issues, which were all eventually resolved.

Hi King1, I would love to know if you run into any quality issues with yours. Once I got it all working It has been great!

i travel a lot, this looks like a perfect guitar for me.
Hi 47crazy, I love my Traveler, the only problem has been the 1/4 inch plug, which I finally had a Luthier set right!
Thank you for your review, I really want to learn guitar but I travel for work, would you recommend this guitar for a beginner?

Hi Diamo, no the output is fixed, no volume or tone adjustments, the good news is also no battery!
