I can’t even express how appreciative I am of the way you made this video, it’s informative, and most importantly it is not filled with a bunch of BS they teach you to use to pander with in marketing classes, just facts and nothing else. Thank you for restoring a little bit of my faith in humanity (and UA-cam).
I’ve been tying Albrights for 30 years. The way you hold the loops on both ends with you fingers is a game changer. Never seen someone do that before. I’ll be tying more albrights now and less blood knots.
This video is perfect. Thank you for not wasting my time with fluff. Watched the video 3x while tying along with it. Now ive re-spooled 3 reels in the last 15 minutes with mono backer to flouro. Seriously cannot express how appreciative i am of the concise video.
Great video, thanks! Just got a new baitcaster and wanted to try braid. Used this to go from the mono backing to the braid, then from the braid to the mono leader. Worked perfectly!
This is tied wrong. Its the heavier leader that's meant to be doubled over, not the mainline. That's because the albright knot was developed specifically for joining lines where there's a huge difference in diameters, not as a general purpose line to line connection.
Its because he tied the thin braid as the "running line". The thicker line such as mono or fly line should be the running line. The thinner braid should be the knotted, or wrapped line.
I believe it is other way around. The way tied it ,the Orange line should be your leader ,and the yellow line should be the main one .The man line is one wich is wrapped around the leader ,not like you do it !
Love the knowledge videos. I always use a blood knot for my leader to main line. It's good to have some options. I subscribe specifically for the not videos. It's always good to have multiple perspectives when learning to tie new knots. Keep It Tight ! Cpl Hood🦈🦈🦈
I only have used Berkley Nanofil Super line, and this knot works great...as well as the Double Uni knot for that line. I don't have experience with other super lines. Hope this helps!
@@JustRay627 The knot has been tied wrong and is not meant for a general purpose line to line connection. Its big fault even when tied correctly is that it can literally come undone while you're fishing . So you Should have been shown the "improved" alright that is locked with additional hitches to stop this from happening. This is a bad video and yes, the uni knot ot is what you should be using for general line to line connection.
Fishthatwontquit yeah with quarantine can’t really do anything but buy line online so I tried to tie mono to mono. Took me hours but this video helped more than others.
Improper albrite knot, a true Albright knot you would start with the leader line pulling your braid through the loop and wrap it up 6-8 times then back down through the wrapped braid line then through the loop you came in through and sinche it down. Your way makes a very weak and ineffective not.
I'll have to give it a try. Been using a double uni for years and more recently an FG knott.. prefer the dbl uni though. Gonna try cc tying this right now lol...
Why wrap the leader line around the main line? Main line is going to be braid, leader will be mono or fluro. You're going to want the braid gripping the mono or fluro. Not the other way around.
I feel ya on that, the Double Uni knot is one of my absolute favorites. If you're interested, check out the Alberto Knot on my page. I've been using the Alberto knot more often lately.
This knot works well not great. When it’s tied correctly it’s very small. Try it again put main line in right hand and leader in left (loop) hand. Bring the main up through the bottom of loop and wrap it towards you and tag end through the top of the loop. That’s how you tie this knot. The line has to go the opposite direction in the loop. Give it another shot

Thank you Sir from wales 🏴
Thank you for this knot. It’s very smooth and really strong!
It really is!
Un des meilleurs Albright que j’ai vu , je vais l’adopter. Merci cher ami
Always wrap the braid around the mono, otherwise it can pull out as mono don’t grip so well on braid
Your right, he did it the wrong way round.
Yeah I've tried it both ways I always wrap my braided leader to the mono as it almost always will slipp
Yeah, this video is totally incorrect!

worked like a charm, thanks man!!
You're welcome!
Great video, thanks! Just got a new baitcaster and wanted to try braid. Used this to go from the mono backing to the braid, then from the braid to the mono leader. Worked perfectly!
Awesome!!! I hope you slay some fish! Good luck!!!
Thank you for this video it was very helpful
Love the two colors!
Thank you!
I normally do the wrapping with the thinner line, old know we learnt from tying fly fishing leaders
Great knot got it on the 2nd try!
Awesome stuff! Thank you so much for the help
Anytime! Thank you!!
I am starting on fishing... lost 4 lures this weekend because I was not doing the FG properly... This one seems to be much easier and secure
I do like the Albright knot, but one of my personal go to knots is the double uni knot!
Just stick with the uni to uni knot
People usually make the loop with the leader not the main line but other than that this video is perfect.
Ultra cool way of getting it done!
Excellent tutorial.. Thanks
Thank you!
Best knot ever. Never let me down
Thank you so much
Excellent. simple, well presented, easy to understand.
Thanks FTWQ
That's amazing to hear! Thank you!
Miss you at the chase! Keep up the good work my man and thanks for teaching me about knots!! FTWQ 4 the win!!!
thanks, this is a easy knot to tie. the best one i have been able to do myself
That's awesome!
This is tied wrong. Its the heavier leader that's meant to be doubled over, not the mainline. That's because the albright knot was developed specifically for joining lines where there's a huge difference in diameters, not as a general purpose line to line connection.
Will keep that in mine.
Thanks mate
You're right.
Yeah, this is totally incorrect. It's the leader that HAS to be doubled into a loop. The braid then wraps around the loop!
Awesome vid thanks
No problem!
Great video
Thank you!
You're welcome!
tried it twice and pulled it through both times - back to the uni knot.
Dang sorry to hear that! The Uni knot is always a great go to.
Its because he tied the thin braid as the "running line". The thicker line such as mono or fly line should be the running line. The thinner braid should be the knotted, or wrapped line.
@@Outfittingriversresortcom yes, the mainline always wraps around the leader and the leader always has the bend/ loop
Double unit knot is best recommendation after all
Yup. Me too. Can see myself holding this one right out in the wind and spray and don’t see the point either.
If I was using 6lb mono for backing and tying it to 8lb braid would I make the loop with the mono or the braid???
Always wrap the braid round the mono, he did it the wrong way round.
I've watched and tried making it. I worked eventually. Thx
Like with everything...Practice Practice practice
so if i’m doing braid to fluoro should i do the wrapping with the braid
Excellent - thank you
Thanks for watching!!
Can you use this knot as a leader knot from braid to fluoro leader for sea bass fishing in about rocks
Beautiful video well done..I subscribed to your channel
Thank you!!!
PERFECT WOW ... EASY N STRONG ..clean! Perfect😘😘😘

First time worked, but what is the advantage over double uni?
I actually do prefer the double uni knot. This is just an alternative way to tie two lines together.
@@FTWQ appreciate your response.
This method works great when tying colored rope. Not easy with 8lb test
Double uni much easier and doesn’t require a lot of time to perfect. Good knot here but need more time to fish and knot perfect a more difficult knot👍
Definitely, I agree. Love the double uni knot as well!!
I'm pretty sure the main line is supposed to wrap around the leader.
Top. I m watching
Brilliant and so easy. Thank you.
Thank you!
Does the double uni know work good as well?
Yes, I love the double uni knot. The Double Uni and Alberto knots are my go to braid to mono/braid to fluro knots!
Alot harder when you're using 6lb flouro
Am I the only person crying bc it’s all tangled
What kind of line do you use for the demo thanks
Hey! It's Fly fishing line that I use for demos. Link is here.. .amzn.to/3vlow2H
What size and brand braid is that?
Is this good for splicing mono to super lines???
I only have used Berkley Nanofil Super line, and this knot works great...as well as the Double Uni knot for that line. I don't have experience with other super lines. Hope this helps!
@@FTWQ Thanx. I will experiment and find out. Tight lines.
Best, Ferry good
The thin line needs to wrap around the thinner line
Ive used this knot a couple seasons and its nice and thin, but ive lost one too many lures due to its failure. Back to the uni.
Yeah I would agree that I like the uni a bit more. Also, I have been liking the Alberto knot a lot more lately.
@@FTWQ dont get me wrong, I love that knot, it just fails a lot for me. Maybe its me. Im gunna try the 6 turn surgeons next.
Definitely! Yeah, the surgeons knot is great too!!

If you want monofilament fishing line, you cannot go wrong with trilene. Been around for .ore than 50 yesrs... for good reason.
Easy if you are using monster line....stick with it, it works in the end
Do people rate this as a strong knot for braid to mono? I usually just do a 3 turn water knot. Don’t usually have a problem
Thank you so so so much!! I struggled for hours with this and finally got it !!!
No problem at all! That awesome! Yes!

I've watched this video at least 20 times and every time the knot breaks
@@goodcat1982 it might be because your putting something like 65 pound braid to 10 pound fluro
@@goodcat1982 he could be doing it right it could a line
Double Uni Knot is better, unless you're after goldfish and short on time.
The Double Uni is a beast!
Knot too shabby. I'd even say it's Albright! 😅
🤣🤣🤣
Ok reading the comments I feel better because I've always wrapped the braid around the leader
Wats better Albright or Alberto??
Hard to say, both are great knots. I would say the Alberto Knot is an easier knot to tie with the same benefits. So If I were to pick, Alberto.
Do it the other way round. Wrap the braid round the mono or it can pull out, not the mono, leader, round the braid like you did.
Why wrap the leader line around the main line? Main line is going to be braid, leader will be mono or fluro. You're going to want the braid gripping the mono or fluro. Not the other way around.
I find knot tie videos extremely satisfying. I shouldn't be playing with myself right now.... But it feels right, you know?
Oh... I know. Hahahaha 🤣🤣🤣
From a distance the big guy looked like Brian shaw
Ehhh.....think I’m still a Uni-Uni guy.

Cool video but your making it more complicated that it actually is
👍👍👍
I have never been so infuriated trying to follow a video beofre how the hell do u do this without 8 arms
Hahaha I hear ya. Give the Alberto knot a try. Personally I prefer the Alberto.
Thanks man I’ll give it a try
im going to kill someone its so hard and annoying
Lmao
🤗
I need like 3 hands and 15 fingers for this.
😂😂😂
that's fail knot because I tried pulled it by surprise and fail, you know
so double uni knot is recommendation knot
yes the Albright knot failed me too multiple times, its a very bad knot
Leader keeps slipping out every time
this knot pulls apart everytime!
Sorry to hear you're having troubles with this knot. Maybe try the Double Uni knot.
