Another awesome video on a new style of beer I knew almost nothing about before watching this! I would love to see a Mean Brews video on dunklesbock - I brewed one last weekend and it was the first style I've brewed you haven't done a video on. Huge fan as always and love your Facebook group and all your contributions to the homebrewing community, Matt!
What are your thoughts on sugar additions in the boil? I’ve seen lots of people using cane sugar molasses, Demerara, etc. did you see many examples of that?
I don't think you need that big of a starter - lager yeast require bigger starters because they are working in harsh, cold conditions (best temp for yeast is about 30-35, but that's not the best for our beers).
Great job as always, Matthew!!

Thank you! The Meanbrews dunkles bock is one of the best recipes! 3 golds this year alone.

It's been done and wins. Only about 30% of the recipes used simple sugars. Follow the % of adjuncts in the video, 4-10%
Great video, I laugh every time you say "My recipe will be right at the mean..." well... DUH!
Cream ale!
(PS - Malted corn is my secret weapon)
LOL I'll add it to the poll...
I second this notion! Also, is it even a cream ale if its fermented with a lager strain?
I really hope Dunkelweizen is on that poll (crossing fingers tightly)
