I have sorta like style niches named I go for my vintage wardrobe . my Pinterest boards are yeehaw / rock n roll , delicate vintage glam ethereal , and weird kid. It makes things easier in my mind and helps stay true to myself.

Lol I also break up mine into like 8 or so groups (90's grunge, 70's disco, hippie, boho/earthy, granola, western, hipster, tomboy/techwear) and often try to find through lines between all of them:)

"No more project pieces" is definitely something I need to add to my criteria when thrifting. My closet is full of pieces that need tightening, shortening, zipper fixing, etc. because I saw them, decided they had potential but never got around to actually fixing them because work is hell and life gets in the way.
Reading this and seeing this video while I sit in a dress I just thrifted that has loose sleeves that I swear I'll fix but probably never will 😭It's at least a comfort to know I'm not the only one.
@@impibibi403 After watching this video I decided to slowly start working on that. So far I've shortened three skirts and fixed one dress. But it's still so annoying 😭 also some things are not as easy to alter as you initially think. I'm definitely sticking to the no more project pieces rule next time lol
The Drummer calls my aesthetic “Librarian Chic.” There is ALWAYS a cardigan involved. 🤣😂🤣😂 When I go to his gigs, if I ask what I should wear, he will say, “You know, ahh “Blues Mama!”” I finally figured out this basically means black on the bottom and denim on top OR vice versa. My favorite is maybe a black lace skirt and boots with a denim jacket. (Over a cashmere cardigan). Or jeans and a black jacket …. Sometimes a dressy one or sometimes leather.
It took me years to give in to the fact that I’m not exciting or trendy. Old age has these kind of perks - resignation. 😂🤎

P.S. I know you are like me in that you really and truly appreciate vintage clothing, and understand precisely what makes it so brilliant. Which I LOVE. I started going to thrift stores in the late 80s, when I was in Jr. high, when clothes at the Salvation Army were 10 and 25 CENTS! Wearing vintage earned me freak/loser status at school. I was ENDLESSLY mocked - the price I paid for being so far ahead of my time, I guess (nope - not pretending this is some manner of "humble brag" - the amount of bullying I endured allows me to shamelessly boast about this - haha.) And so, because you actually care about such things: the brown top IS antique, from the 1920s. It had a matching drop waist flapper dress, which sadly fell apart. I wasn't sure about sending it to you, due to the damaged lining, but I figured no one would see it and I knew it'd be amazing on you! The reason it's so soft is because it's silk velvet. And yep - I sent multiples of the 1930s Red Lion pinback buttons so you could give some to your friends. My grandpa owned a garage, and I literally had about two dozen identical ones.
