Jim has the determination and passion of a true drag racer, you can see it in his face. He needs to get off the ice and snow on pavement where the power gets to the track. Alcohol dragster seems like a great next project for the shop.
Pete i just found your channel a week ago been watching since ...Jim is cool guy ...im a cat guy ...I see you work on all brands ...! Love the drag racing ...wish i lived closer to make some of the racing events . Keep us updated on the events .. Your a awsome guy !
I'm glad you're digging the channel! 🍻 thank you! yeah there will be a couple of radar run events coming up February 15th and 16th that should be alot of fun! 🍻
Brraaapppp ring ping ping ping, put 1 1/4 piks in some tires for my Banshee and took it to Sunapee NH radar run. 101mph 1000ft 😂 the sled guys were frowning as I placed 7th in the open class. Welded only one clutch that day 💪🏻✌🏻💚🙏🏻 grip it and rip it
Ur not far off that 150 ......frickin awesome......I just got back into sledding thanx to your channel.....we drive by Peterborough quite often on our way to Tweed and Flinton....it would be cool to look at Yomama and the Shocker in person sometime...keep up the great work
So enjoying your videos. The drone footage is an excellent addition to your videos. I'm anxious to see what your next video will be. Keep up the great job!
I love seeing the snow in the back ground. Could you send some our way. I live south of the Twin Cities in Minnesota. We have had next to no snow this year.
by looking at the vido ur lifting the left ski witch is making it pull right and spin the track .put some more pre load on the right coil, orchange the angle on the sway bar on the on the right side to keep the left side planted . also have u tryed to soften the rear shock to give to more down word bit on the track .
Is that Rev limiter programmable? Maybe add a few RPM before it hits limit. That drive track is nothing more than a conveyor belt. If it's stretched or out of square, it will track to the tight side possibly causing the vibration and pull to the left. Anyway, good job! I would love to see you guys get the full potential out of that machine!
Videos are great and i will continue to watch no matter what i have a 20 t cat with the hurricane bundle to 300 hp and it feels mental for a trail sled lol i couldn’t imagine more lol
Super impressive! You guys never really mention what the acceleration of these sleds is like. If you could, let us kinda know what the experience is like. Thanks again for a great video!
thank you! YOMAMA is still a work in progress but I've got the motor back from iantomasi's so I'll be posting videos on it as I put it all back together 🍻
Another great video. That sled is awesome. Looks amazing. And she flies. A little faster every time you guys go out. Good to see. I know you guys are 1/4 mile. Straight line racers. But feb 1 and 2 weekend is the bonnechere cup in Evansville. Only about a three hour drive for you guys. Could be some good video content. Some more utubers will be there as well. From Canada and the States. And the beer is cold there. Cheers
My guess the stumble is the belt or track is stretching from the centrifugal forces at 150mph i'm leaning towards the belt. I can't believe that any belt can take that speed and HP. I just want to make one pass to feel the power. ADD one more thing to my bucket list >> ride a 400hp sled at 156mph :)
In the rear suspension giving the front shock &arm more travel and maybe add a little more travel in the rear transfer arm. Shaft behind arm at the rails, depending on wight of rider might need less rear arm transfer, But no matter what the front transfer arm needs to travel out a little more... now thats just from watching a video... BUT I'D PUT MONEY ON IT IS IN THE SUSPENSION, is where you're going to find more top.end alone with better E/Ts don't forget clutching play with your rear suspension set up.. looks soft with a decent amount of lift in the hole sled.. skid might even need to go deeper into the tunnel????? Have fun guys!!! Get great video
@rednecksdirtyhands one other quick thing to think about. When you get the sled running to the point your going to have a big race, weather it's an event or for bragging rights..keep your trailer warm as you can and put the sled inside it for a half hour or so, even a torpedo heater outside with the sled completely covered and the heater blowing hot air under the tunnel. To get the track warmed up and the bearings, after 15 minutes to a half hour of that then run it on the warm up stand. You want to then run the sled at about 10/15
For about 4 / 5 minutes, this is to get the hole drive line warmed up chain case oil, bearings, and the biggest part the track. I know that time doesn't allow you to do that all the time but I'm telling you. Back in the 90's I started doing this after getting beat by a sled that normally would be 4 to 5 sleds behind me at the 660 mark. And he got me by a half sled, ???, I thought I had made a good pass but when letting off at the end it just felt like it had slowed down faster than normal, track to tight? So we get it in the trailer and look everything over.. then my Dad pointed out that, we just unloaded and I just got a little heat in the pipes and did a quick clean out before lining up. To lose!!! Lol. My Dad had also pointed out that the temperature was only-5 and we normally seam to be in the 20's and the other guy had been out there for 4 hours before we got there. And just in the time it took for us to unloaded, he had made at least 10 runs. So my Dad's telling me that everything is so cold it's slowing me down. We pulled it out of the trailer without changing anything. I ran it on the stand for about 4 minutes at about 15 mph or so. And was able to drive right to the starting line, and raced the same guy and a turbo sled I hadn't beat yet. Well I put 10 or more sled on the sled that beat me earlier. And 3 sleds on the turbo sled. So I was very happy since we had a decent size cash race I had set up. For that afternoon, And let's say it was close but I won... but I know for sure if I had done everything like I have always done. I wouldn't have won that race... so since then I never leave my track sit on the ice next to the trailer when I'm not running it. I set it on a 2 inch foam pad. And try to always warm it up really good I'll leave my quick cool down system hooked up at the trailer and run it at 15 mph. If I didn't have it in the trailer or tarp it over and heat up the track. I'll keep the drive line spinning for longer maybe 5 to 10 minutes... just a little tip, that I can promise you if you try it especially on a timing system, you will be surprised and will be changing up the pre race prep before your races... I was running psi 1500cc 1800cc and was running 330hp sleds in the 90's on radar.. and I actually have been in the power sports business my hole life and my dad started our current location in the late 70's, we are family owned and operated. My son is in his 30's now and starting to take over the business, so I will be pulling out some of my old iron that I kept and .most likely at least 1 new build, this season I'm just getting things at my race shop pull out of all my little stash spots, so things didn't get sold. Mostly because people want to argue about things like that. And I won't argue about something that I know 100 percent work's. Take care and have a great day.....Bob
Nice one boys ! Would love to see you guys add the current MPH to the screen while doing a pull. Not sure if that's something you can do with the draggy/GPS.
Maybe the vibration is from trimming the track. Perhaps you trimmed more off one side and the track is out of balance causing it to vibrate and pull ? The sled is so fast and the track is turning at such a fast rate that it makes a difference. Just a thought?
Congratulations Billy ! I have a thought / question,, You guys are using the stock track that You narrowed, the vibration You feel , is it possible the compound of the stock track allows flex of the track under the stress It is getting from the power it’s getting, is a Speed track any stiffer compound and not flex as much 🤷🏻♂️

Im looking a little advice here because clearly you do 1100 turbos. My father has a 2013 1100 turboRR that it doesnt matter what belt you have on it it absolutely obliterates in about 4 to 500 miles you can just about count on it blowing. Its stock this shouldnt be happening or is this common. Hes had since new.

Florescent spray paint to mark out the straight line of the track would help a ton.
soften up the rear suspension for the hard ice, and see if it grips better.

My father has a 2013 1100 turboRR that it doesnt matter what belt you have on it it absolutely obliterates in about 4 to 500 miles you can just about count on it blowing. Its stock this shouldnt be happening or is this common. Hes had since new.
yeah unfortunately it is very common for those sleds! there are things you can try to do to fix it but they are just notorious for breaking belts!
That's why the belt blew
I think that XC 700 you have will give it a run😂
lol we'll just have to see eh! 🤣🍻
If you can get her lower to the ice you'll get that 150 no problem she sits to tall.
