Igors Vihrovs was incredible - my favorite of the five. His tumbling passes remain awe-inspiring 21 years later! That says something.
Give me Dong-Dong
The first routine was absolutely stunning. And each routine became progressively more stunning. A great glimpse of the progression of the sport.
I hope carlos yulo will be in this group of gymnastics soon. His recent routine is a great addition to this group.
The winner of the Sydney was spectacular and so graceful he’s like an expert balance beam worker
True, he's the only one that impressed..
Resembled a fairy.
Vihrovs is pure art!
Igors Vihrovs was immaculate. The perfect blend between artistry and great technique. Amazing even today 23 yrs later.
I am hoping for the first gold olympic medal of the Philippines this Tokyo Olympics as Carlos Yulo a young Filipino gymnast will compete in this field!! I wish you the best Yulo the Filipino community is in your back.... Go For Gold Pilipinas
Hope he made it ,support from indonesia ,but its tough tho ,kenzo and nagorny will be strong competitor
@@agungs8564 Shirai is retired in case you missed it
@@agungs8564 dogolpyat
ikr...i'm from Malaysia and i support Yulo so bad...but nagorny is upgrading his difficulty....let us all pray Carlos Yulo has a smooth and excellent performance
Hoping for Carlos Yulo as Filipino and SEA gymnast representative to win the Gold Medal! I'm actually very nervous but I'm confident he can do it! 💙❤
That´s so amazing, they all did so well but the canadian guy grabbed my heart. Perfect !
There was a real elegance to the routines from the winners of the 2000 and 2004 games. I think the open-ended era ruined men's floor exercise in particular because they're expected to cram so much acrobatics into a 70 second routine for maximum difficulty level.
From a viewers perspective, I get it, but from an athletes perspective I loved the open ended scoring. It allowed me to be as creative as possible. So many people had the same routines before the open ended scoring because they just did whatever got them the 10, easiest.
It still hurts my heart that Jake Dalton didn’t stick his landings in Rio his floor exercise was a masterclass in athletic artistry, strength, flexibility, and gymnastics with perfect form.
I agree. He would have easily edged out Max
All amazing gold medal performances,! And these Games will be legendary with all the superstars competing !
Incredible abilities! Dedication pays off👏👏👏 Congrats
These people are just ridiculously amazing.
The Canadian guy is so fast and high in jumping
Yep. Kyle Shewfelt is a magical being! There are so many times when it looks like he's floating, and he barely makes a sound when he lands.
@@Alpen83 He's so light, elegant and with a perfect technique.
And to think that severely bruised the talus bone in his ankle in March 2004, but made a full recovery in time for Athens and in 2007 broke both his legs, made a quick recovery and came back to competions!
Not just in jumping. Yeah Canadian always go fast 😬
He is the best!
My favorite !
Hurts to not see Kenzo here
Please upload all the 2021 Tokyo FULL events of Artistic Gymnastics in this Channel !!!! WE really wanna watch them all !
I have to say, I think Zou Kai's 2012 routine was much better than his 2008 routine.
But he was the worst of the lot, so many unsteady landings , routines were uninteresting...Igor was flawless, nobody came close.
@@Soumyification I don't think Zou should have won either of his golds on floor ... But, that's not a criticism of him. He and his coaches used the code to their advantage.
I found Zou Kai’s routines to both be really unsatisfying. His landing technique is terrible and his routines were crafted to abuse ways to avoid landing deductions. Comparing him to Shewfelt makes this so obvious.
@@distanthighway5773 I would agree. He didn't deserve gold on any apparatus at any games
Please be nice
Yesss Max!!
So excited for Carlos Yulo!
He'll make it next time. He's skilled and fun to watch.
Such a great video
Last guy are incredible 💓💓💓💓💓
2:10 perfeição!!
Miss Zou Kai so much🥺🥺
The booing is so loud in the Rio Olympics.
Loved Vihrovs.
Impressionante
Yes max
I am excited that Carlos Yulo 🇵🇭 will compete for this in Tokyo Olympics.
Max withlock routine was mad!!!!
Landings were not flawless, Igor was the best in my opinion..
Canada was amazing
Kyle Shewfelt was so elegant to watch!!!!
I think it's cool when they make a floor pass, get to the corner and then reverse it and flip backwards. You never see this anymore in mens or womens floor routines...I wonder why
Please make a video for the great athlete marit bjoergen of norway
Olympics we have been waiting fo so long hhh
Are rollouts in men's gymnastics still allowed in the current code? I know they were banned quite some time ago in WAG.
they were banned from 2017
No wonder no more ChiNazi afterwards.
The woman in the crowd with binoculars on the guy in his little shorts... going 'uh-ha... oh hmmm...'
The canadian guy literally had the same routine as the latavia guy but he changed a few things
10 days to Tokyo
Zou Kai is my favorite floor specialist
Surprising, he was unsteady on some landings (objectively verifiable if you re-watch) and his routines were kind of boring (this is more subjective).. Igor's landings were flawless (objectively verifiable) and tumbles are smooth and his routine's most interesting.
Lowkey glad Whitlock took the gold after poor sportsmanship from the home crowd >_>
10:15 ☝🏻👍🏻🔥 who else did notice it?
Tokyo 2020:
1)Carlos Yulo
2)Nikita Nagorny
3)Raderley Zapata
Well… 1. Artem from Israel
2. Zapata
@@lihiguttmann787 yeah thank you, I know....
This video reminded me how awful the crowd was in Rio.
How so?
@@ayantikaC03 Crowd was making so much noise and chanting when non-Brazilian competitors were making mistakes on the floor. Watch Kenzo Shirai or Sam Mikulak's EF performances.
Yep... most of us are like that unfortunately lol
Brazilians are a terrible crowd, and I know because I am a Brazilian.
Watch Brazil Vs China 2016 Women's Volleyball, and you'll know what is a bad crowd
@@matheusborges9341 vc nunca assistiu 1 jogo de superliga né ?!
👍👍
Zou khai 😍😍😍😍
in this event luck also plays a huge part.
it's already 2021 and still no official live streaming service in UA-cam for the Olympics
The rights to the Olympic contents is very restricted. Only a few broadcasters and the IOC can show this content.
Their business model is still from 19th century. Millions of people would pay to watch live Olympic events, even events from previous games.
Watch out for Caloy Yulo 🇵🇭
....just a question - how high can these guys jump off the floor doing flips - and could they even break the high jump record doing such a technique ?.....
Actually not that high as it visually shown. As most of them are really short.
And that's not hard floor as well, there are springs underneath it - of course it's not like a trampoline as it shows. They wouldn't get as much height on hard floor and some acrobatics are impossible out of a spring floor. So that's why it doesn't count for high jump records
no music
I want to that awesome boy
Nobody comes close to Igor Vihrovs , he's so smooth and flawless. The remaining 4 look inferior, most of them didn't stick the landing always and the routines were so boring. All Olympic golds are not equal, in this case 2000 Olympic Gold trumps others..
Only dolgopyat is the best, you hear that???
@@789uio6y Heard you, but no he isn't !
I thought Shewfelt stuck all of his passes as well.
Its the siiivas voult?
Hi
Wow, some of those routines after 2004 are hard to watch.
So true, the quality of men's floor routine has declined, to me Igor is the only one who impressed.
I think the first one did the "salto thomas" at 0:25. I thought it was forbidden.
This type of skill was banned after 2016 olympics, it's called "roll out"
Feel bad for Max a bit. Being boo’ed for winning can’t be the experience he wanted. Diego and Arthur did great from Brazil. But that’s just how it goes-show some class.
I feel sorry for him, it is not his fault, people can be really mean, like in Atlanta 96, when the crowd were so disrespectful towards the non-americas girls on teams competition.
I think Atlete From Canada at olympic Athena most perfect than all in this video
This year the gold medal was soooo bad
You just hate Israel, so you say these nasty thingsss
So true, I thought Zou Kai was the worst but now it seems like Dolgopyat is the worst !
@@789uio6y shut the f up! I'm not hating on any country when im laying out facts! Past gold medals athletes where more consistent. Ya'll gotta stop it with the "everybody hates israel" BS
Thats gaslighting, thats stupid and false when USA the most powerful country in the world injects billions of dollars in Israel's security. Please shut the F up already and stop gaslighting people.
I truly don’t think it was the worst, obviously this year in the final everyone made mistakes even Nikita made a huge mistake, but if u take a look at artem routine from qualification it’s an amazing routine..
@@lihiguttmann787 I am comparing Dolgopyat to gold winners of 2000 and 2004 Olympics and not to other gymnasts of Tokyo, I happen to think that Zou Kai ( winner of 2008 and 2012) didn't deserve his medals either . In my opinion, if all finalists make mistakes then the medals should not be awared for that year so as to preserve the standard of Olympics. There should be a minimum standard for sure.
What about Tokyo ?
Зоу Каи и Макс Витлок су трајали годинама
🇨🇳🇨🇳🇨🇳🇨🇳🇨🇳🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆❤️🥇
Could Simone beat these boys in a competition ?
Not comparable. Some elements of her routine are indeed more difficult than what these men did, but she would have to do 5-6 passes+1 non acrobatic element (instead of 4 passes). Plus, this was before the new code regulation, where men were required to do one roll in element, which was banned in the women code.
I wish they would allow artistic men floor.
Max Whitlock looks like Charlie Puth
Put music & dance element please in MAG ;)
That's what I was thinking. The English guy's routine in 2016 would have been *chef's kiss* with some music
Anyone know what happen to kenzo shirai now?
He retired
he retired after not making it into the team for Tokyo
@@FazriHassan lol... this response seems to suggest that he gave up easily. The main reason was he no longer could compete at a high level due to his persistent injuries
@@neillim4921 i see..my apology for the poorly worded answer
The floor in Beijing made a lot of noise. Probably made in China spring floor.
Zou kai two times Olympic 2008 and 2012 and ten six time world champion. He is my favorit.
@@vivajusticia4967 I don't care. I care for the pretty ones
@@ThomasJr you care enough to make stupid comments.
Canadian
The first guy, from Latvia, does a skill that looks like a Thomas Salto, which is banned for women. He somersaults onto his shoulders. Is it a Salto? If so, why isn't it banned for men?
They were only banned for men in 2017 I think.
Was banned for men after 2016 olympics
@marwa ok so it just took longer for them to ban it for men.
Gymnastics compared to basketball,🙉🐵🙈‼️
Latvia and Canada were the best
....
2008 winner was a hometown decision. What a shame!
At lease Zou proved at London. Its not perfect among the champions but it fits than Daiki Hashimoto
You mean HASHIMOTO in ALL AROUND ( ESPECIALLY VAULT LANDING)???
Second coment
It's very common for the athletes of the hosting country to win more golds that those of other countries. The Olympics definitely has some corruption or bias to it Lol
do you mean winner of london 2012? Mind enlighten us
@@hanagikuro3040 dont play the hottie on me dounche
China the best
The Zou Kai era of gymnastics was the most forced and boring era in both MAG and WAG history.
The white gymnasts are always the most beautiful. Look at this blond near the chinese 4:22 Holy moly
But beauty is something that nobody has forever , so let's not feel bad
😂😂😂😂😂
@@carmencilmacedo it's true, that guy is gorgeous

Floor is so BORING, it‘s basically just tumbling. Music, jumps, leaps, cmon FIG…
No way number 3 would have got a gold medal in any other country besides China, that was so sloppy.
Zou Kai was the worst his performance is full of rolling out
