I'm glad you clarified that at the six minute mark...martin hall says to have the "V" (created by the thumb and index finger (of both hands) pointing to the trail shoulder) but obviously thats only for certain golfers ..i guess it does take some testing and tweaking and finding what works for you...but i will say u had that grip he spoke of on your last drive so i def think thats the sweet spot
Great teaching Alex I have played of single figures in my youth I am 75 now and moving up in handicap but of late I am plaqued with hitting good strick straight right drives 9 out of 10 times, HELP Alan
I’ve got a good left hand grip - in the fingers, palm on top, relatively strong. My miss is a hook/pull hook. I think I use my right hand too much - as I come through the ball I “wipe the floor” so to speak. Is it a bad idea to put my right hand more on top of my left? Nobody ever talks about how to set the right (trail) hand on the club…
I know you need a reply from Alex but in the meantime, this might help. I have been seeing one of the UK's top 5 golf pros. My miss with my irons was a hook as you describe it. He insisted that I had my trail hand move around so that it was almost on top of the club shaft. The lead hand stayed where I had it with 2 knuckles visible. It felt strange but hooks pretty much disappeared.
Good morning Alex Please do a putting tip video 🙏🙏. I keep missing the centre of the face of the putter. Either toe or heel strikes. I adjust the position of the ball, I stand closer and further but nothing helps... please help
alex! do you have any advice if you can't use the left hand thumb? over the years i've busted it... tired jumbomax grips, ten finger grip and almost everything between. thanks man! awesome lesson.
Excellent video - I struggle with getting the trail hand under the shaft of the club at the top of the backswing therefore I end up throwing the club down with a steepening if the shaft please help
Hi Alex I have a good one for you I would love you to answer.there is 2 holes on my course I keep pushing left its a par 5 and my second shot always ends up in the left hand tree's with my second shot with a bunker in front of this.im not sure if I'm over compensating and aiming right and that's making it go more left can yiu help?
What would happen if I had a weak lead hand grip and a stronger trail hand grip vice versa? Is it a bad idea to even think about trying something like this?
It seems to me the graphic has the hook and slice images switched. If you grip it as is demonstrated under the slice label, you WILL slice… But, great video👍 6:07
@timothymarley6122 You're either swinging too flat or too steep. More likely too steep. On your backswing dont go so high, bring it down about in line with hour shoulder blades.
Why do I play well after a terrible session on the range and play terribly after a good session on the range? Should I just stop hitting on the range before a I play a round?
I struggle with a similar issue of not getting more out of my driver then I would with a 3 hybrid. To confound this I use to drive 250 yards before a knee injury now I rarely hit more than 175.
I struggled with this. Could be a few things. Hitting down on the ball with driver is not the design so that might be a big part of it. You might have the wrong setup. When you are fitted you might not have played your gaming shot - now the ball is spinning big - robbing you of distance. I also found that I’d swing more from the inside with the driver than the 3 wood - if you do this and hit down then it’s fading more with more spin up and ends up same distance as a firmly struck lower spinning 3 wood that is hit on a slightly straighter path. Try practicing hitting up and be conscious of trying to get a straighter path (slightly so as not to be suggesting you change your game)
Check your launch angles, you could be hitting down on your driver and that would not work, Ideally you should launch your driver no less than it's loft and no more than 4/5 degrees up
your driver is not very optimized imo for that SS and BS combo....just like hitting a 7 wood. you need a higher launch but to each their own. spot on with the grip example. something i struggle with a lot .
Weak grip, strong grip, I always seem to hit a fade! Not a slice but a slight fade. Iam left handed so fade to my left. Ball spinning counter clockwise, when it lands kicks to the left.
I like the fact you base some of your content from viewer's comments and suggestions.
Great way to interact and connect with the viewers. 👍
The grip and wrist action is almost always sooooooo extremely overlooked... Well done for highlighting this!
This is best ever and I've been on this channel nearly day 1 this simplified it and can see myself right there 👍 👌
Great to hear!
I love your teaching style. You abs danny maude are the only youtube golf coaches i subscribe to.
thank you!

If you're using a strong grip and hooking it, it means you're closing the club face too much. Try a more neutral grip.
Good morning Alex

gosh i’m sorry - i don’t know on that one
Alex... I've been playing with a strong grip and one benefit is I get my trail arm/elbow in a much better position. (no trail elbow flair) Am I nutty?

Can you do a video showing drills to help find center of club face consistently please?
Currently have to line my ball up to the heel of club and still hit it off the toe.

yes will do
That's my biggest problem trying to get the right grip

Maybe the pre warm up routine isn’t work for you?
Just a little point .Good content as ever but I am red/green colourblind and cannot for the life of me see that red ball 🤔
Alex why is it I hit my 3 wood further from the tee then my driver I have fitted clubs
I struggle with a similar issue of not getting more out of my driver then I would with a 3 hybrid. To confound this I use to drive 250 yards before a knee injury now I rarely hit more than 175.
Not getting enough power in your downswing OR you're not actually hitting it in the sweet spot of your club.
I struggled with this. Could be a few things. Hitting down on the ball with driver is not the design so that might be a big part of it. You might have the wrong setup. When you are fitted you might not have played your gaming shot - now the ball is spinning big - robbing you of distance. “ also found that I’d swing more from the inside with the driver”
I meant to say “more out to in”
