- Our European neighbours gave us some amazing displays at the 2023 Royal International Air Tattoo. The Armee de l'Air of France attended with their Dassault Rafale which I've captured here. The pilot put on some incredible high G turns from such speeds it made following with the camera challenging to say the least. the desent to the runway for landing has to be seen to believe!

Great video. Rafale and its pilot make it appear to be effortless, so smooth. And to top it off, falling out of the sky and transitioning to a glide onto the runway. Wow!

@@hubpaq Agreed, but that's common for many display routines. And let's face it, Rafale simply is a stunningly beautiful machine; who wouldn't want to show off every aspect of its lines? ;)

Love the Rafale display. So good to see it return for 2023. I love those opposite quarter aileron rolls to introduce the full roll. So elegant and slick. A really difficult display to film but you nailed it Dafydd! 😎

Impressive....The Rafale is a ball of nerves, and when you look at the demonstrations of other aircraft, the difference in nervousness and agility is glaring. Even the auto-focus has trouble keeping up. The pilot must have suffered in this demonstration, no wonder he won the trophy !

This for me was one of the highlights of Sunday, never seen an aircraft thrown around in the sky the way this pilot did. ❤
The f18 took it for me. Usually f16 but chucked down as it was displaying putting a dampener on it. Excuse the pun.

Brilliant display, we've seen the Rafale a couple of times at Duxford on pre airshow practice days.

Amazing. Was there myself on sunday. This little fella so nible, one moment it's there and then it's long gone.
Another great video. I love the look of this video. The jet maneuvering against the background of scattered sunlit clouds almost gives the impression your video was shot from another aircraft. The Rafale's demo looked so smooth and effortless. Quite the contrast to the Finnish F/A-18 demo where it looked like the pilot was beating gravity and aerodynamics into submission.

Was it just me or during the low speed high alpha pass the Rafale was turning wirhout the smallest hint of departure?.
Beautiful and bold final approach for landing getting out of the half Cuban eight masterfully positioned for the smoothest of landings.
Great display, very dynamic and enthralling , for me the best solo this year.

Name one thing that the midget actor doesn't want to be handed for free on a silver plate...
there are many planes that are better than the f16, including the Rafale. However, there arent any 4th or 5th gen Fighters that can do what the f16 can do for the price. The F16s bang for buck and low operating cost is the reason its so highly demanded

The rafales landing was pretty special 👌
and again, you have not seen the Rafale standard F4, with its predictive maintenance system managed by artificial intelligence, and the standard F5 with its new radar, which will replace the RBE2 AESA, it is called RBE2 XG or TARAMMAA, also managed by artificial intelligence, capable of following any type of aircraft like the F35 at very long distances (tested since 2012) as well as detecting small drones in order to destroy them!! the Rafale F4 will be at the level of an F35, the Rafale F5 will be superior to the F35 in all areas! the F5 version can be escorted by several drones, usable to distribute weapons (either missiles or bombs), as detectors around the Rafale allowing 360° coverage around the Rafale, or even to impersonate the Rafale, The enemy at a distance will be unable to know if it is a Rafale or a drone! for example, a Rafale F5 with 5 drones will be able to make people believe that there are 6 Rafales, or make people believe that the burst is in a certain place, and seeking to approach the Rafale, it will be attacked by the Rafale which is flying at very low altitude since its radar allows automatic flight at the chosen altitude, the plane piloting itself which already exists on the F3R version!

That same landing was undertaken by an RAF typhoon pilot a few years ago. Jim Peterson I think it was, it is very impressive to watch.
At any rate this solo display was excellent, only beaten by the fantastic Finnish F18 and Belgium F16. (although the SK60 was graceful)
The f16 dream viper stole the show in my opinion. Finish hornet video should be up this evening

I miss the russians
I've always considered the Rafale to be the equivalent of the US F-18 A/B model. Not as good as the Super Hornets, but decent. The F-35 is superior in every way. France can go its own way, but I'd be interested to see a version with newer engines and stealth.
And how exactly is the F35 superior in every way. Certainly on its vastly increased .price.
Why does the Rafale need new engines and stealth?

The F-35 is stealthier, has a more capable radar, is faster, is about the same price (have you checked prices lately?), the engines are more efficient, it has a longer range. The Rafale has NEVER won a competition where it was pitted against either the F-35 or the F-15. I could go on, but I don't get the impression you're interested in the facts.
@@RyeOnHam you are wrong . The rafale won EVERY compétition against F-15 et F-35. But countries political leader don't buy a plane (F15 or F-35), they buy usa politic shield.

When you compete with godfather Corleone, you loose. But as a submarine, F35 has higher performances that Rafale, Grippen or Typhoon.

What an extremely underwhelming display. It rolls fast and thats it and they clearly know that. That's why all they did was a bunch of rolls. Any american jet and even Russian jets would have this thing for breakfast. Only American and Russian jets are good. The rest of the world just make flying paperweights that are nothing more than target practice.😂
