I'm not a medical student and yes I listened to that whole 29min episode. But If I watch you perform an examination like on Warwick medical channel I will probably fall asleep in 5 or 6 minutes... :))
Luv ya Dr Gill. I’m not a med student but I’m seriously considering it. I think these videos are a good idea as long as you keep doing the anecdotes to break up the reading straight from the book. You’ve got interesting insights.
This is great! I find it hard to concentrate on reading my books, but listening while reading would be amazing! I wish there would be audiobooks for academic books too. This is cool, thank you!
I'm doing individual self-study online ; I find your videos very informative... Thanx for taking the time and doing these videos. People like myself appreciate you...
Dr Gill, this is just what I have been looking for as an ANP-I can’t learn it without the explanation I have just found you, I really like your style, I like your tips that you add in. Your clinical deep dives are really valuable. Please keep going and thank you so much :)
This is very interesting. I just finished my pre-clinicals and just about to cross to clinicals. I find it quite intriguing having read the first two pages of Davidson Principles and Practice of Medicine which referred me to Macleods. Again, you sound really nice.
@@DrJamesGill Dr James Gill Hi. In the description of this video/podcast (and any future content) state the time at which you begin to discuss the topics. For example: "22:56: Expectations and Respect 25:49:Hand Washing and Cleanlines" This way, if there are multiple topics to discuss (as was this case for this podcast) viewers can skip the specific point in the podcast/video that is of interest to them. Hope that makes sense. Also, I second DonutXD's comment please continue to integrate relevant anecdotal experiences, where appropriate with the core material in the book.
@@DrJamesGill it would be helpful if you would post a reply that lists the times that each topic or chapter begins. E.g.: 3:28 Chapter One X:XX Discussion about Chapter One X:XX Chapter Two Etc., etc.
Hello Dr.Gill, I'm really grateful for your time and consideration to teach us clinical examination. Are there more audiobooks of MacLeod clinical examination in your voice? It's extremely soothing and helping me understand the topic.
I find the series an excellent idea and an effective solution to the problem of medical/nursing students at the beginning of their studies not knowing exactly what, and most importantly, why you were performing certain actions during the clinical examinations videos. I would appreciate having timestamps and maybe having a video of you talking instead of a podcast. I find it a lot easier to follow attentively if there is any type of visual stimulation, instead of just listening. Congratulations and keep up the good work!
Hi there Dr. Gill. I was recently examined by one of your fellow doctors, Vicki Scott. I noticed you both have different styles, and I'd like to schedule an appointment with you and have it filmed for comparison purposes. Im very symmetrical so it shouldn't be too difficult.
There is a big difference between a Grade A examination when you are being assessed, and a “working examination” when the clinic is running That said, when a diagnosis isn’t apparent, we will engage with the full examination to ensure we’ve giving the best patient care we can
Actually we still use maggot therapy with certain skin wounds that refuse to heal It provides a much more effective removal of dead tissue without injuring any health issue (But it is quite… a challenge… for patients and the medical team!)
Not a Dr but I do have a question as an outsider. How is this different than an audiobook ? Also what about copyright issues. Just thoughts Best of luck!
I think it would be a fantastic idea, and an extremely useful reference for people studying medicine. Music would not be of any benefit to this type of content, in my opinion.
@@DrJamesGill Your videos are consistently wonderful. I'm very much enjoying the limbs and things demonstrations. Very professionally, and tactfully, handling such sensitive medical procedures significantly reduces my anxiety about them as a patient. While, for some, it may cause a short fit of giggles, I think for most people who don't experience clinical training scenarios, it helps keep our mind at ease. I feel like we're in the right hands Doctor. Thanks again for everything that you do. 👍
I'm loving this. You are definitely not wasting any time with content like this
I am not even in the medical field and I found this interesting. Keep it up

Thanks, that was the main feedback from Elsevier, so will aim to do that
As a nurse, this helps and really means a lot! Thank you, Dr. Gill!
Thank you so much! Any suggestions for topics that might be useful to other nurses?

Maybe one day!
2:09 how ironic 😂
The only reason I listen/watch his videos 🤣
Sir, i really appreciate your demeanour and calm attitude while dealing with patients
Hopefully my patients feel the same!
Not a medical student or a practitioner but enjoyed this video. Keep it up!
Med school applicant here. Fantastic content, input, and experience. Thank you, Dr. Gill. Keep the interjections coming.
James this is really good - and can listen in on the way to work.

Lol this is awesome. Love this little random occult following hahah. I want to think it all started with "Sandwich breath." Hahah.
You are definitely not wasting time please continue

Hey Dr Gill,
You should timestamp this podcast/video.
Other than that, keep the series up!
I don’t understand. What do you mean?

How exciting, I’m going to learn how to be a doctor as I fall asleep every night 😂 I better call my mum to tell her the good news
Really very effective way to revise clinical examination
Thanks!
Thank you this is what I’ve been looking for 😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😃 so helpful amazing work and thank you for your time and energy 😄😃😄😃😄😃😄😃

Less of James? Oh no. No, no, no...All James All The Time! Thanks, Dr. Gill!
Also, I'd vote no on adding music to future videos.
noted - thanks
Just graduated from nursing this month and something like this would have been great. I love this idea, hope to see more of it in the future!
excellent point to keep in mind for every patient.
👍
pleasure for me, THANKS SIR, FROM INDIA.

Putapitapaper :)
Can you read the whole book please 😊
Everytime I see the name Macleod, I instantly think of Highlander lol
Going to start using “six penneth” in my day to day life
HAhahaha. I do anyway. But I’m reading Three Men in Boat, I’m realising where a lot of the phrases I picked up from my Grandfather originated!

Publisher is happy - I checked with them. It basically is an audiobook, but very few in the medical realm
