    I have a couple of friends on the east coast but I don't know if I would be giving classes.
    There is a video on You Tube that demonstrates the steps in making a rhea egg jewel box. I buy most of my supplies at www.thegoldeneggofidaho.com.

    I have a few step by step tutorials. There is an hour long video on How to Make a Black Rhea egg Jewel Box. There is another one on How to make a duck egg jewel box that is completely covered with bugle beads. Another egg on Marking Eggs. And another one on How to create lattice designs on the eggs. I was going to have a Zoom class on he duck egg
    jewel box but I didn't get any responses. That's partly why I haven't done any new ones lately.
    I am also very busy preparing to move.

    Oh Eileen I love the egg you are showing how to make on here! How did you mark it to cut it in the V shape? Looks like it would be easier than the other jewelry box that you have to cut the top off. I think I might try it first! Thanks my wonderful friend for sharing this one too

    Where do you find the stylus you use to mark the eggs?

    • @EileenTokita
      @EileenTokita  4 роки тому

      The stylus is part of the egg marker. When you order a marker, you get the stylus. I have one for sale. The regular price is $80. I am selling one for $50.00.

    I like tp put scenes inside my eggs, but I have a problem removing the membrane even with bleach! And when I do remove it the shells break if im not extremely careful! You cant paint the inside of the egg until the membrane is removed! How do I get all the membrane out of the egg without it breaking on me??????

    The epoxy is a 2 part glue consisting of a resin and a hardener. They come in 5 Minute, 1 Hour,
    etc. I only use 5 Minute Epoxy. You have to mix equal amounts for at least 1 minute, then apply
    it to the surface to be glued. It sets up in 5 minutes.

    You don't always have to remove the membrane.just use white glue, like Elmer's glue. or Modge Podge. Paint the inside with the glue and let dry.Once it is dry you can glitter or paint and still have the membrane for strength. You are note using enough bleach to completely cover the eg or not letting it sit long enough. use Clorex bleach. the "green" stuff doesn't work. hope this helps.

    • @EileenTokita

      Dear Alla, I have been thinking about making some video tutorials. I am not very tech savvy so that has stopped me from doing the videos. Were you able to view the one hour class on how to make the black jewel box for my friend's daughter's wedding? I have heard from several people who made the jewel box with the help of this video. I have a student who lives in Jacksonville. She comes to Honolulu for 3 months just to take classes with me. I teach every Sunday and some Saturdays. She also comes to my house once or twice a week for egg sessions.

    • @allad.1175
      @allad.1175 7 років тому

      Dear Eileen, yes, I've just watched your video about the black jewel box. It's a great video, very educational and insipirational :), easy to understand. Probably those of us who can't travel far (like me at the moment) would really appreciate this format. Your videos are much much better and more useful than many I've been watching trying to learn the tricks of this art. Online classes are becoming increasingly popular and your knowledge is valuable. Thank you!
