Nice video Christine. I enjoyed how you shared the LO206 learning experience. I look forward to watching your progress. PGP is a wonderful track. Another one that you should check out is at The Ridge Motorsports Park. Their kart track is a smaller version of their car track, complete with elevation changes and "cork-screw".
Minor Update: Changing the front tires did not fix the slow leak in the right-front. So, I figured the problem is either an o-ring on a bead-lock screw or the rim. I swapped the bead-lock screws between the 2 front wheels thinking that, if it was the screws, the leak would move to the left-front, but the leak is still on the right... so now I'm suspecting the problem is with the rim. I'm kind of in the market for a new set of rims (with rain tires) anyways. But, it's a slow leak. Like, after a week it will lose maybe 2PSI. So, it isn't an emergent situation afaik. It's funny because my street car also has a slow leak in the right-front xD Another Update: I've since discovered that, if you have a slow leak in a tire and you think it's the bead lock screw, it's good to spritz some soapy water around the screws and look for bubbles... kinda like checking a bike innertube for a leak. Pretty simple solution I guess I should have thought of.
this was really neat to see! I haven't done kart racing in years. I used to be really good. back in 2010 I sold everything I had. maybe one day I'll save up enough to get back into it. but sadly the tracks we used to have here in southern California have since been closed up and are gone.
Cool video some of them turns u really want to get them tires on that apex but nice lines so far I'm sure ur just testing mostly the engine and all that so understandable either way looks mad fun and stay smooth
Oh and one last thing when starting off also try and stay consistent with the lap times yeah u can have 1 really fast lap but if ur not consistent it can actually hurt u in the long run
Yeah, in the rental karts I'll for sure go a lot more ham and run up on the curb more. I guess I'm still skittish about something breaking on my kart and then not knowing how to fix it lol. But yeah... I'm pretty convinced that entry into the corners is where I need the most work. It feels like the kart has a lot of understeer about it. But, like I said in the vid... it's probably just me.
@xChristine nah ur still learning the kart and the track eventually ull get more comfortable and will understand how the kart will handle going into turn and during braking its all about finesse hard break before turn but not to much cause ull lose the back end and hard gas out once again finesse take time and practice
