Korean American here 🇰🇷. My first introduction to Chino came from my cousin when No Complex dropped. It was probably the most different sounding and illest track in underground hip hop at the time. Then the full length hit and the whole thing was chalk full of bangaz. It's All Bad has always been my joint, especially during the times when I was so down ... at least I could bump this and escape into the strength I felt from listening to his music. Rest In Power 👑

It’s sad that with his passing, MFs are just going to remember him from his brief beef with Pac, which happened very early in his career. He had a long career, spanning almost 30 years. Tons of albums, collaborations, toured with Immortal Technique, was an early guest on Joe Rogan before his podcast blew up, created his own comic book. Arguable the greatest punchline MC ever. True wordsmith. RIP

Ironically I was thinking of Chino a few weeks ago. Many years ago when he was down with the 4 horsemen tht was Killah Roest, Ras Kass and Kurupt ( dope group) they was like Slaughter house before Slaughterhouse Chino had a show out here in AZ in Tempe. Now I was a die hard fan of Chino since the sway n tech mix tapes. Dude was a lyrical genius. Long story this was like a Tuesday night at this bar off mill ave. One of my homeboys used to hate on Chino cause he was a diehard Pac fan as I was too, but My dude held a grudge frm when Tupac dissed Chino on Hit em up. But I talked him into going. Now my girl just got a new digital cam and never used it. She told me to watch it with my life. This will play into the story in a sec. So we get there and it's a lil rainy on this Tuesday night. It was like at 11pm and we had to al wrk in the morning. So out of our group like me and my brother were the most hyped to go the others were like meh. We get inside it's mad dead. Which I kinda felt bad but at the same time dope cause tht meant we got a chance to be near hip-hop royalty. Fam Chino was sitting in this chair with his ppl all around him. Dude was like the size of the rock at this time. He seemed like he really ddnt want to be there or maybe had a bad night. So he performs and does this freestyle going in on his OWN crew. I was shocked. It was out of no whr. Nothing super crazy to be real but still throwing shade at the horsemen and I'm in the front as he walked back and forth. I'm recording. This dude grabs my camera out of my hand and says no video and smashes it on the table that was kinda off the side of the floor he was performing on. Not only was I crushed cause this was one of my hip-hop heros made me feel less than zero everyone was oohhhh I can laugh about it all these years later but damn I was shocked then tht turned to anger cause I defended this dude. So the next morning when my girl woke up of course first thing she asked about her cam. I had to tell her and the thing wouldn't turn on smh. I ended up getting her another and the tape still recorded up to tht point think I still got it. Anyway I ddnt listen to Chino for like 10 years until a few months ago when I thought bout I wondered what happened to him after all this time poison pen is still a great wrk of art of course the sway and tech may free styles and songs I can go on and on great times. Rip
