    The K887 hand. Instead of raising on the flop the simple thing s remembering a set is a dog to a wrap/flush draw on the flop but turns into a favorite on the turn with only one card to come. Those are the kind of hands you want to wait to pile money unless you flop top set with some sort of redraw.

    • @DonkFishPoker
      @DonkFishPoker  3 роки тому

      That’s a great point, I didn’t feel he was that strong. I put him on a pair plus open ended where I’d be a favorite so check raising flop would have been ideal

Having a small player pool in the game definitely gives me that advantage but I also know it goes both ways which is why I try mixing up my play at times. If you are playing for a living I recommend 6 months living expenses set aside plus a roll between 30-50 buyins deep for live full-ring PLO
      I play for a living at 2/2 PLO with a $5 rock, 5/5 with a $10 rovk and just started with 10/10 with a $25 rock
      Gl out there

    • @DonkFishPoker
      @DonkFishPoker  3 роки тому +3

      I agree with Anthony, a lot of sources will tell you 25 buy ins but of course the more the better so 30-50 is a good range. This next piece of advice also seems very obvious but you’d be surprised at how many people get it wrong, keep your life roll (living expenses) completely separate from your bankroll so Anthony’s recommendation of having 6 months living expenses put off to the side is very smart. Let us know how it goes!

    • @DonkFishPoker

      I am a tight player but plo is a more nutted game compared to NLH. Hands that can’t easily make the nuts aren’t usually worth playing. Most players especially when coming from NLH play way too many hands because having 4 cards makes every hand look playable. Tight is right in plo especially at my game.

    Good call and another well played session. Recently, I’m personally struggling on how to play trips and I’m constantly getting boated over boated (top boat versus 2nd). I’m resorting to just check calling on trips but not sure how to get out of top boat versus 2nd boat (flop would be like A55, I have A5 but villain has AA). Do I just take the coolers on the chin or can I get away from them…maybe depending on the opponent?

    • @DonkFishPoker
      @DonkFishPoker  3 роки тому

      You’re going to lose at least some money in those hands but knowing your opponents can help you make big lay downs. I one time correctly folded KK against AA preflop mostly due to my particular opponent. Coolers happen to everyone and even some of the best players can’t get away from them so don’t let it get you down, just part of plo.
