Hot Paper Lantern was also one of my favorite peppers this year. I made several batches of fermented sauce with them as well as froze a couple pounds for Winter ferments. I found myself putting fresh pods of these on almost all my food. So yummy!

Squish them with your fork or spoon fresh in your place in rice beans/lentil and meat or chicken dishes or with a nice chicken bouillon or bone broth soup. It's a burst of flavor. In the jungle they keep it simple with fried garlic, water organic chicken ginger salt and cilantro optional potato(Caldo de gallina) So you get pure flavors.
I'm a 2nd year grower. I'm in Minneapolis, but most of my grow is out near Alexandria. I'm absolutely hooked now. My work horse so far is the Caribbean Red Habanero. Beautiful flavor, and manageable heat. I get my seeds from Jimmy Pickles, and his 7-pot pickle pepper in particular is a monster producer. I have 20 pounds of pods in the kitchen. Great video, Rob. I'm also getting interested in hot chilis that ripen green. I bought some Green St. Harold's Bart seeds from Puckerbutt in South Carolina recently. Habanero heat, I guess? I've never heard of them before, but I'm looking forward to next year's growing season!

Hello again Mr. Rob, i made a small discovery as i was processing my habeneros today and after another failed google search, i thought id ask an expert. When slicing, up toward the top near the stem, on the skin and sometimes on the placenta, i noticed some tiny yellowish droplets (probably colored due to carotenoids) with a slight oily feel. Any idea what that probably is? I wasnt brave enough to taste it, lol. Edit: i think i can see something similar in that Trinidad, difficult to tell since my resolution is low. But if its just the peppers vegitable oil, that would make sense.
I gave away all my chocolate habanero plants I had started this spring. What do you use your pods for? I can’t wait to try them next year (and not give them all away).
0k Rob , Is the endorphin rush of the Moruga #1 Opioidesque or just at a cannabinoid level ??? I grew a Brainstrein variety this season that put me down for a full hour . It's not so much an endorphin rush as it is tingly effect. Very unique. My favorite peppers for eating raw will always be the chinense bird varieties..
Don't sell peppers, but as TrappenWeisseGuy said, we do sell plants at our neighborhood plant sale each spring. Three pepper growers participated this year, so there was a nice selection.
