Вставка
- Опубліковано 28 сер 2022
- The Lionheart Regulus is based on the Daewoo DP-51, which is the side arm of the Korean Military since 1985. It's a double action pistol with "Double Action Plus" which makes it a consistent trigger pull from the 1st to last shot. Made in Winder GA. Thanks to one of my Patreon Members, Jon for then loaner. Big thanks to Fiocchi USA for Supplying our ammunition! #LionheartRegulus #DaewooK5 #KoreanMilitary

☠ Warning: There is a Giveaway Scam posting in the comments using my thumbnail. I am not on Telegram. I've been blocking and reporting them but it helps when you guys report them too. Thanks.
Hey Sootch! I hope you get to review the sig P320 Xten 10mm and the P365 X Macro. Thank you
Those giveaway scams are on other UA-cam gun channels using their thumbnails too...
@@russellsandidge4210 they're all over. I've seen them on chanels for anime, gunpla, firearms, video games, and even some masquerading as political campaigns
I've blocked many of the key words they use so hopefully it will slow them down : )
I try to report these when I see them but I really think YT either should clean up in the options you get for reporting. Heck they have:
Unwanted commercial content or spam
Porn
Child abuse
Hate speech or graphical violence
Promotes terrorism
Harassment or bullying
Suicide or self injury
Misinformation
So where does Scams and phishing go? In my opinion it's not commercial content or spam, it's an attempt at stealing information and money. It could be said to be misinformation as they claim to be the channel owner, but that's not really a good fit either. All these options and no one that screams organized criminal activity in the form of scamming people out of their money. Just calling it spam feels so inadequate.
Still have my daewoo dp-51 from decades ago. To be clear, it's a double action with a 2 stage trigger. Very light & crisp trigger, hands down the best trigger on a hammer pistol.
There’s no doubt that Lionheart Regulus Blackout is a very solid platform and one of very a few fitting a specific sector in the handgun market. 👌🏼 Great content!
Thanks Brother!
I just wish they were optic cut, I really want one but for the price it should really come with all the bells and whistles even if you don’t want to use the red dot.
Great review and we love to hear you talk about the history behind the design! Thanks so much sootch00 !
Daewoo modified the trigger from a Beretta m92 pistol. The south Koreans were given rights to the design because of the Korean war & ally status with us.
I bought one and have taken it to the range a few times. It is a very well made handgun, the trigger is very smooth. I love the size of the Beta, and the weight is not much more than a Glock 19 with loaded mags. I went back and bought a 10 round mag that I keep in it as primary carry mag and carry an 18 rounder as back up. Two came with the gun. The hammer makes dry fire easy - peasy. The gun is very accurate if I do my part! It's well worth the extra money. I wish for 15 round flush mags and aftermarket grips in OD green. Great review Sootch!!
If you do your part?
@@mmarciniak Yep. Y'know they don't aim themselves. I still need to keep the sights aligned through the trigger break and not pull the gun off target with my trigger press.
I remember when the Daewoo first came out, and the trigger was called the SFS. They converted a few Browning Hi-Powers to this system. The 59 magazines and the Beretta trigger bar really are the best of all worlds.
I believe it was FN that originally came out with the trigger design!
@@armsdirectory I hate to say, this WAS thirty years ago so I got the releases out of order. Either way, I really did like the concept.
Nice looking pistol. Before you mentioned the Model 59 magazine, I said it has lines on the frame & grip shape of the 59 series pistols.
It's based on the 59/459. Besides the DA+, it's got an external trigger bar, extended slide release, backstrap fix, and 1911 frame safety w/ no decocker. With the frame improvements, and upgraded everything seemingly.
@@jayyelo2689 sigh gun features comparison retards # 1 & 2 so damn annoying
Man, going on eight years and still loving your reviews!!!
I have the LH9C, which is the precursor to this pistol. Very well made, and that double action plus sold it for me.
Grew up watching your channel. Thanks for imparting your knowledge and for the great content over the years. It's always a pleasure watching. Good luck out there
About time we start seeing some Korean designs being imported again. I'll wait for the K2 rifles to come next.
I had one of the originals back in the 80's, great gun ! Glad to see they moved there facilities, and their tax base out of Washington to a free state. Elections have consequences !
The LH9 was, essentially, a Smith & Wesson 5906 with an LEM trigger group. I love it. This is what a "4th Gen" Smith *could* be. I hope this line gains some traction and sticks around a while since this is exactly the kind of thing I like. Now, if someone would make a Jericho 941 clone (no rail) with the same kind of trigger. I'd buy the shit out of that. LoL
I remember buying the K5 or DP51 for around $200 out the door. No rail and the sights you have are what you have to go with. The front sight was machined into the slide.
Awesome video! That double action plus is a great idea.
What an amazing little gun! Excellent review!
Sharp looking offering from Lionheart. That price tag though! 😬
If we have any luck maybe they'll start producing a version of the k1 again
Beautiful gun!
Great firearms! Thanks for the review !
Nice gun there sootch00 thanks for sharing
I love my DP51c. I can take almost all of the parts from the Regulus and they will drop right in. The only parts that don't fit are the mags. They are a little bit wide than the S&W 5900 series mags that the LH9/DP51 is based.
Thanks
Bought a Lionheart LH1n on the last Black Friday they ran for $499 and it's the best pistol bargain I've ever had! Totally reliable and the DA+ is the nicest carry option ever. Too bad they decided to mess with a proven pistol just to make it look more "tactical".
I went to their web site and all their models listed MSRP 1k or more. They either raised price or selling at a heavy discount based on the price you provided. I think in this category Arex Zero 1 is best bargain since you can get one for 395 brand new!
@@dukenukem9666 I just saw you post. The original LH9's weren't $1000 guns. List was , I think $799 and the Black Friday sale was to juice things up, I guess. It was a phenomenal bargain and I wouldn't trade or sell. Sootch compares it to a Sig P226, I think it's closer to a 229.
Nice! Glad to see these guns getting some air time. I have the original Daewoo DP51c--love the gun. Plan to review it soon on my channel. I actually have Lionheart G10 grips on mine. All the new parts are supposed to be compatible with the old models, which is cool. Thanks for the review!
Yup loved my Daewoo too. Traded for something that wasn't as good. Been waiting for a review on the new design.
@@doclees11 Yeah, I love the Daewoo. In some ways, it's kinda like a S&W "4th gen"? About the same size as my Smith 6904... and can take the same mags.
Canik TP9v2 and S&W SW99 have the same trigger system as the HK, but they don’t have a hammer. And they also have a decocker.
It’s on my list to purchase. I received an email from Lionheart Industries today telling me that they won’t have any more Regulus Combats until Shot Show. Shot Show is January 17-23, 2023 in Las Vegas, NV.
Thugly as hell. Even more than an old xds. Love it.
That's definitely a innovative design. Always enjoy a hammer fired pistol
Love this gun, it's pretty, great functionality, the double DA/SA hammer is very innovative, looks great in black and the purchase serrations on the grip is really nice but, it's away out of my range. It'd love to own it but, too much for my blood and with SHTF around the corner, saving is a priorty. Thanks for a great review, sootch00.
Just over here hoping for a K1 or K2 in the States
Another fine gun review!! Thanks again for all the information. I think you just like shooting, to be honest 😉
An impressive firearm....with an equally impressive price. Depending on the configuration, MSRP goes from $1000 to $1150, so I'm guessing that the street price for the Beta version would be around $850. But at 24.7 ounces unloaded, it's not exactly a lightweight pistol. You could get a new Walther PDP compact OR ready for around $600 or so and save $250, PLUS the Walther is 3 oz. lighter.
At 24.7 oz, it's almost the exact same weight as a Glock 19, which is pretty impressive for an all-metal handgun. But more to the point, having been in the business as long as I have, there are people who want a hammer fired gun, and those who want a Striker fired gun with a frame made from some kind of plastic. There are those who want a safety, and those who don't. For those who want a lightweight all metal gun with a hammer and a safety, the Regulus is a natural choice. Walther PDP compact is a solid choice for those who want a polymer frame striker pistol - but that's a very crowded field. The advantage of polymer frames - other than weight savings - is that you usually can make the grip more comfortable and "modular" so it fits more hand sizes. But people are still buying Berettas, the Sig 226/229 classic series, and all manner of CZ clones and derivatives, so there's always going to be that too.
@@armsdirectory Actually, my favorite carry pistol is the Beretta 92FS Compact 9mm. It isn't the lightest either, but with the proper holster it carries quite well. And it cost about $350 LESS than the Lionheart. Cheers.
@@fumble_brewski5410 Well you hit my favorite brand - Beretta. Can't stop collecting them! I'm 13 deep and there's no end in sight!
Don't forget that it comes ceracoated and with a front night-sight standard, and a really nice case with accessories; also, standard sized dovetails and commonality with S&W #59 magazines. The Lionhart mags are by MEC-Gar! All of these items would be extra "custom shop" items with other manufacturers! Standard Daewoo mags are fifteen-rounders that do not stick out. Oddly, many Kel-Tec P-11 pistols take the Daewoo mags also. AND the old Marlin Camp Nine carbines take S&W/Daewoo mags too! I miss my DP-51, and I wish they would import them again!........................elsullo
It's made out of forged 7075-T651 which is a superior aluminum temper than 7075-T6. It also has a tru-axis barrel meaning the rifling is milled from front to end in one go so it's perfectly rifled. It's a very high quality gun whether you like it or not.
Great gun!
Awesome
Man that brings back memories of those great all steel autos Smith and Wesson (4506. 5906. 1006. ) built . Those were great handguns. This is definitely making the wishlist. And it takes smith mags ! Top of the wishlist.
Beautiful gun ! I'd definitely like to ship one to my ffl , ive been looking for something different that's actually worth the hassle
Nice review. I just may have to have one.
$1000 for the base model? There are to many other established and in stock pistols out there to wait around on this one.
Interesting. I kind of want one.
I want this gun so bad
Strange but good!
The grip looks like it grabs ahold of you !
Sweet gun
@sootch00 Which one shoots better for you between the CZ P07 and Regulus Lionheart?
Will the 18 round magazine work in the LH9 or their other earlier models?
Sweet Gun!!! I'm looking for one
Muy bueno tu vídeo saludos desde Argentina
Could you please tell me what magazine will interchange with a Charles Daley 1911 I watched your review the review and I couldn't see Anything where you said about interchangeable magazines
I think if I want a DA-SA, I want a DA-SA and that includes a decocker. Nice looking pistol but not my cup of tea. Thanks for the video and keep shooting.
Pushing the hammer down IS the decocoker sorta. Yes your mainspring is still cocked but you could throw the gun out of a moving airplane in the DA+ mode and it ain't going off. So long as you have good trigger discipline then you don't need a decocker with this gun. Same as a Glock. The safety is between your ears.
You didn't see him decock it by simply pushing the hammer forward?
@@bunsguns8222 It was not decocked. The spring was still engaged.
@@billdoetree4313 I like the the heaver first pul of a true DA-SA.
@@keithtate1241 fair enough.
Is there anyway you could provide the overall height of this firearm with the 10 round mag in it? The website only seems to list it with the 18 rounder in it..
Looks like a 3rd generation S&W with cheese grader added.
It's based on the 459.
Luv it
Kool gun
appreciate
Once you push the hammer forward, how do you decock the handgun?
Do you have to pull the hammer back and then control (lower) it while you squeeze the trigger?
Just squeeze the trigger while blocking the hammer fall with your other hand finger. In the pre-cocked mode the hammer snaps back to single-action cock and then drops onto your finger tip so that you can let it down easy..............................elsullo
I think I like the less busy look of the LH9, if I had to choose between the both. Lately, Gun manufacturers seem to be concerned with extreme cocking serrations.
900$ deal breaker right there! But cool in a weird sort of way! Great video
Cool good stuff any compatible holsters?
Never knew they made the DP51 and Regulus in Renton. I'm 10 minutes away and have never heard of the Company or facility which is weird considering the large amount of manufacturing plants in that city
Hello there, Sootch!
Good morning Alfred!
Price has kept these from being super successful in the US. It just does not do enough different to command that premium.
Nice looking pistol. I just got my first pistol a Canik rival. I am looking for a 2nd gun that's a little smaller to carry. Problem is budget anyone have decent experience with carry guns around $400-450
This is almost like someone took a P99AS trigger and combined it with a Browning Hi-Power Safe Fire System on top of a Sig P226. Very cool.
I keep looking for a quality 9 mm pistol I can afford, but there's "drawbacks" to any I can find... I may go with an Extar EP-9, since I don't really need a high power carry, and it is a beast for home defense. Might eventually get a KelTec P30 .22 Magnum for EDCC.
It does look like a Sig P229. Nice looking pistol.
I've been looking for some thing close to dp51. This is great. I bet your friend is a lefty and is married.
Trigger bar on the outside of the frame like a Beretta
the one you are reviewing is a regulas beta. it has the straight grip. the alpha has a curved grip similiar to a p320. both have a long & short slide option. the combat is more of a full size pistol. it has a threaded 4.8 in barrel & suppressor height night sights. i really like them but at $1000 to $1200, it is a little too much for me.
Needs an optic cut!!!! Come in boys...2022 here...
Whoever owned that before you was left handed and their wedding ring wore that spot into the frame through the cerakote
Good observation!
Once again, the Sooch clan drives off Goldilocks from getting into their porridge.
Having trouble accessing Sootch00 gear, can someone help?
Cool 30 years ago..
A big pass on this one for me, good looking pistol though.... another option out there
Looks a lot like a Bersa TPR9 series pistol.
Nice review I like this gun but no decocker..I want to shoot it ..I will get one just to have this unique weapon. Thank you
Thanks for stopping by Phillip!
If you had a round in the chamber... the DA+ would be the same length of pull as decocked and it has a frame safety, which disengages the trigger Not sure what difference that makes, except an extra step to decock ( safety on, the rest trigger).
Love music 🎶🎵🎶🎵🎶🎶👍👍✌✌
For some reason this reminds me of a Rex Zero 1, but with a little too much machine work.
I've always wanted one of these but I can't buy any guns with no aftermarket support. That's why I'd never buy a Steyr
Reminds of the FEG Hungarian pistol and a
Just seen one of these this morning at the gun store for 250$
I'm completely sold on SA/DA handguns, that's all I've ever owned.
Is this a licensed copy of a Smith and Wesson pistol, that's been modified ?
It’s like there model p226
Thank you for this review, I am interested. 👍
*_- I didn't hear you mention whether or not it has "2nd strike" capability - as do many DA/SAs. If so, is the 2nd strike at the full 10lb trigger weight?_*
Also - the Regulus appears to have a light recoil, how would you say the recoil compares with the low bore axis Beretta PX4 Storm?
It's a traditional DA/SA, so it has 2nd strike. And yes, the second strike is the full DA weight of 10+ lbs.
@@DarkPhoenixTSi Appreciated.
I still wonder how Sootch likes it by comparison to the Beretta PX4 Storm?
@@RU2AIM From my own personal experience with my Daewoo, the PX4 has a better trigger and the ergos are better. That being said, the Daewoo/Lionhearts are based on the third gen Smith and Wesson semi-autos, so they are still comfortable and great shooting.
It should just be called 1.5 action.
I would call it double plus or triple only if it auto reset the hammer upon it's own slide cycling without needing to be manually pushed by your thumb.
Is that Stalin on the t-shirt?
This gun looks like a Sig and 1911 had a baby and they took it to the custom shop.
1 of the coolest guns; i'll never own
the second i seen that slide lever on the right side of the gun, i knew it was over...as a lefty the sliding lever rubs your support thumb.....suuuuper annoying and irritating after a couple of mags..
why i'll never own that beautiful Berretta either .. 😥
It’s basically like the p99as
Reminds me of the Taurus PT908... it is the Taurus pt908...wtf, it uses the same mags and everything.
帅
Nice gun but not nice price. Thnk u sootch 00
No decocker helps the trigger action to remain smooth…!
Made from unobtainium.
Must be designed by Richard ....

Trigger action is the same as the old daewoo.
