24 hit combo with Razor Ramon was my go to ass-kicking move.
Oh man, I need to see if I can still pull that off, the one that ends with a sweet uppercut.
It's a shame the game had a short roster. Would have been cool if Diesel and Owen Hart were in the game.
could have used Diesel for sure. the game still has great replayability though. it's fast paced and well made. i still do a run through and try to beat it quite often. the sequel In Your House had Owen Hart but was missing Mankind.
@James Ervin Would be cool.
@James Ervin that would be amazing. theres this demo with mortal kombat characters but it's not playable apparently. it's amazing though. someone needs to make it playable. have you seen it?
@James Ervin yeah man. i will try to fin you the link. it's so awesome.
Strangely, this game is still more fun than modern WWE / F game somehow. Bonkers, quirky but most of all fun ha ha
insanely fun, rather than trying to tech it up and make it a snooze fest they made it accessible and fun, to a point that it is quite timeless.
This is still a great game!
This is an awesome one. Never played it, but to know they took a risk using real wrestlers, capturing their performance and taking it to another level. Back then, wrestling fans must have been losing their minds.
This game has a special place in my heart
we most certainly lost our minds..great game, great times, wish i could go back.
Me, my older brother, AND my friends sure did. The game is still awesome!
Yes, yes we did lose our minds!
When this gem hit the arcades my 11 yr old self was on cloud 9 two of my favorite things in the world combined WWF(not E) and Mortal Kombat I love this game so much I played it in the arcade then got it for Christmas on the SEGA Genesis and then again on PS1 when I bought my first PlayStation and I still have them all i break out the ol PS1 version atleast a couple times a year every year 💪🏾
I'm surprised that there was no mention of Undertaker's 'Fatality' in the game. The only wrestler who got a finishing move in the game.
I wish everyone had fatalities
bam bam had one if you jumped off the top rope. You basically flame on them with the splash.
sean michaels had one also, a heartbreak hotel would fall on them
Yeah, that's the reason I often picked The Undertaker when playing this at the arcade. I think they all were supposed to have finishers, but time restraints cut that short. WWF's In Your House however, everyone has a finisher, though most of them are pretty awful.
@@donaldramsey6222 In Your House
I was waiting for this one!! I don't care what anyone says, I loved this game as a kid.
THEY NEED TO REMAKE THIS GAME
indeed, WWE should contact the boys at Netherealm Studios, a modern remake with tons of modes, wrestlers and finishers is something we all want to see.
Pit Fighter was photo-realistic game during that short window.
Game was literally button masher the simulation though
Pit Fighter and this game for Sega....oh the memories
So was Narc
Pit fighter was one of my first gaming memories, the look was just so unique
I remember having a blast with this game. I feel like Capcom's equivalent would have been Saturday Night Slam Masters. I'd have to give the slight edge to Slam Masters but I still loved this game too. Edit: great, now I need to watch your Slam Masters video
I remember the first time I me and my cousin played this at Disneyland. It was hard to find this cabinet in the majority of the arcades. But when it finally came to home consoles!!! Dream come true
that's awesome! i first played it at an arcade and i was blown away. i couldn't believe how awesome it looked and played. Shawn Michaels swinging a baseball bat. mind blown.
It was either Disneyland or Knott's Berry Farm that carried the most rarest of the Arcade Games. I remember it was in Knott's Berry Farm that I first got to try Soul Calibur since I couldn't find any other arcade that had it, even the hot spots for arcade comp.
@@rustyshack155 it wasn't even by space mountain which was weird. It was by the main entrance. We only seen it on the way out. I would've rather spent my whole day there instead of Disneyland at that age lol
Wrestle mania 94-98 was my favourite years bizarre yet colourful.still memorable
The Attitude Era
This man deserves more subscribers
I hope a Remastered and extended version of this underrated game. It would be refresh for the current wrestling & fight titles
5:37 The actual Nightwolf shoving Yokozuna. We weren't expecting this crossover.
That music to the attract mode of Wrestlefest! Man, how can you not like it? Good stuff!
Please do 'In your house'😍. That and 'Wrestlemania Arcade' are some of my fave childhood games that I played with friends. Feeling the nostalgic now! Thank you for the great video , just subscribed 💪
I was playing the home version of this game when my sister went into labor. Had to stop playing and drive her to the L&D during a blizzard.
Geez... Not only did she make you stop playing, but made you drive in a blizzard? Couldn't you have handed her some duct tape to keep everything inside until the storm passed at least?
@@richardatthegate 🤣
Still one of the best wrestling and fighting games ever made! Excellent video mate!
I was just thinking bout this game. Thank you for the video.
Outstanding video!👍
The 90s was a magical time for gaming.
I always love when someone makes a Teddy Long reference when talking about tag team matches playas and when talking about...THE UNDATAKA!!!
back when wrestling was great!
New Generation Era 1993-1996 is a little underrated period
wow man, made my life...
nice one, subscribed...keep'em comin...
Keep up the videos for the wrestling games.
this game is very well done. i still have fun playing it. great replay value if you can master it.
I love that collage aesthetic
Played the hell out of this on the snes when it was new. Undertaker is the man, and doink!
Dont forget the first wcw and wwf games for the N64 in your next videos!
I hope with all this coverage of old school wrestling games that Top Hat doesn't forget about King of Monsters. The first game in the series was a straight up wrestling game with a pin mechanic.
9:36 - that's Phil Apollo, who is a different guy from Ray Apollo/Liacelli (who played Doink), common mistake actually.
I love this game. friends and i use to play this game a lot on SNES. I remember it bein crazy, you can tell whoever made it did a lot of work on it, lots of small details. Thanks. Good Review. Appreciate it
What a total Slobber Knocker! 🤣👌
16:32 which was HUGE since the Sushi X Collective (yes I'm with *that* camp) was in charge of fighting games and had a high pass threshold.
YES! Sushi X of EGM! I remember those days, when the reviewers had cartoon drawings represent them in the magazine. One used a Battletoad.
I received this by request for Christmas in 1995 on Playstation. It was an absolute blast to play with friends, and less so against the cheap CPU. The outrageous move sets of the characters combined with the combo system did give it a fighting game feel and I still consider it a sort of fighting game today. Definitely one of those games that I'll never forget.
I can still nail a 33 hit combo with Razor Ramon, I will admit I am god tier when it comes to this game😅
The best versions of WWF WrestleMania: The Arcade Game are the 32X and MS-DOS versions of the game because they are closer to the arcade version. This old game needs an online play remake and it needs to be renamed WWE WrestleMania: The Arcade Game with an updated roster, the options to create your own wrestler and your own move-set, the option to play online with your friends and vice versa.
I still play Wrestlemania: The Arcade Game from time to time. One of my guilty pleasures. Not a deep game like most arcade ports at the time, but it is very fun to play. I like the ridiculous moves like Doink's Joy Buzzer, Undertaker using an actual Tombstone, Yokozuna flying across the ring to sit on an opponent and Bam Bam Bigelow's top rope headbutt setting the opponent on fire if it connects just to name a few.
I just found your channel. Looks promising. Thank you
THGM, were you always good at drafting essays throughout university? Your breakdowns are always on point, in structure and focus of content. Just well constructed stuff.... and consistent. Bravo.
I am DEEPLY DISAPPOINTED that you didnt discuss the "blood" that comes out of each respective wrestler (bowling pins for Doink, food for Yokozuna, jewlery for Razor Ramon, etc). How DARE you.
It was in the original script, but sometimes I cut stuff out in the edit to make things flow better. This was one of those occasions.
Awesome!!!
Not even mentioning once how fast (and creative) it is compared to other wrestling games is a blasphemy in my book.
This is Sparta!!!!!!!!!!
Beef n bean
Wresltefest without a doubt my favourite of the lot
I had this game for Genesis and I loved it, I was a wrestling fan back then and a Mortal Kombat fan. This game holds up nicely
No one messes with the bad guy. Razor was always my favorite character to play.
I was born in 89 this is the game that I love to play when I was a kid
Saturday Night Slam Masters was the Street Fighter of Wrestling Games. God I loved that game.
they had the arcade cabinet of Wrestlemania The arcade Game at a 7-11 near me at the time when it came out. they also had many great wrestling magazines there too, back when wrestling was really fun and interesting.
Dude!!!!! You were a indie wrestler!?!?! I feel like everyone would love to hear more!
Was a staple in the arcade near me in the mid/late nineties; remember playing this game between games of Ultimate MK3
Between this game WCW/NWO Revenge and WWF No Mercy I played the hell out of those games! Hopefully he does the later 2 later, but I really enjoyed this video as well.
I have a lot of fond memories with this game
I don't know if I miss it. But, you forgot to mention about undertaker's fatality. When the undertakers shoves his opponent in a coffin, buries them and a tombstone appears in the ring. It's really cool.
Honestly, that description fits the game perfectly.
Pure gold
I had this game for snes .. still loved it :)
I say to do In your house next since it was the next game in the timeline.
man no mention of the PC DOS port... my mates & i were hooked from the moment we played it, it was basically identical to the arcade
I remember a small pool hall next to the local barber shop had this game. I would get a haircut and play the shit out of it. Was never a huge wrestling fan but this game was too damn fun. Good times
Was my favourite game on ps1 for ages
Please do in your house and keep rollin through these old jams
I also spent time as an Independent Wrestler, here in the States, and am also a huge gaming collector/enthusiast.... would love to chat directly or contribute to the channel in some way! Thank You! Love the Channel!
You are the greatest
You missed mentioning that the Undertaker has a Fatality on the arcade version 🤷♂️ But I'd say to just keep the arcade theme going with Royal Rumble next
Bammer`s head was on fire, not hands.
His hands did catch fire, mainly during his combos where he threw punches.
Loved this, it was very midway of the time type game mortal kombat/nba jam. I think without the crazyness of this game people wouldn't have been so hungry for a game like warzone when it came out.
This was a great game that I played for many hours with my friends as a kid. I'm surprised the formula wasn't picked up by other wrestling games. This game is still pretty much unique as far as I know.
I'm a new subscriber and I dinged the bell
18:02 LMAO that made me spit my water
It has so many glitches it's hilarous. Yokazuna sand toss mid animation will freeze opponents. Yoko ass drop can be glitched where yoko keeps flying up in his assdrop animation.
I had this game for PlayStation. I thought it was excellent. Using the unlimited combo cheat made the game so much fun. I very vaguely remember playing it in the arcade a couple of times. Bret Hart and Shawn Michaels and Bam Bam Bigelow were some of my favorite wrestlers of the time.
Nice to see the Ups and Downs of this game on different gaming systems though lol
weird hearing that doink was an unlikedly choice, in brazil we caledl the game "the fighting game with a clown"
So many people forget about High impact, and it’s sequel super high impact . Although not wrestling games (American football) they are early examples digitized sports action way before NBA jam or WWF wrestling 🤼♂️
Call me weird, but I have to argue that the game doesn't feel complete without hams flying our of Yoko
Video was well put together but you missed out on a lot of the behind-the-scenes drama. Undertaker refused to do any filming until somebody got him a bottle of Jack, Shawn Michaels and Bret Hart were true professionals but razor was bombed out of his mind. It took yoko literally in our to walk from the front to the building to the back of Midway studios where the filming was taken place. The super Nintendo version was missing both Yoko and Bam Bam due to the slower processor speed and memory constraints. I did a pretty comprehensive video on its which is up on my channel if you're curious. I also show a picture of Adam bomb doing the motion capture work for his character.
“In Your House” next please. 😊
This game was really fun to play I thoroughly enjoyed it very much 👍
Lex Luger might have been marketed as buff MacGyver
This game was fire... could you imagine an EVO tourney
Royal Rumble may be an arcade game but arcades were already mostly dead when it came out so most people played the Dreamcast version. I think it makes more sense to do In Your House since it was the sequel to Wrestlemania Arcade.
The best version of WWF games released! super fun
Loved this game. Also loved the stop motion capture or whatever over the whole anime thing. Imagine if this game was given a sequel, and further expanded to include more characters like Kane, Austin, bossman. Also imagine if they included fatalities (more than just Undertaker) and blood.
other thing I noticed was that none of the home ports were quite as good as the arcade, even the PSX and Saturn versions were missing some sounds. Plus, insofar as I could tell, you couldn't pick the alternate colors like you could in the arcade version.
I played the hell out of this. I loved it.
Doink was my favorite character to play he was op!!
I love the hell out of this game I got it when it first released for Super Nintendo best wrestling game to play ever in my book
I’m not a fan of wrestling in the slightest, yet even I had enjoyment playing this back in the day, imo if you’re not into wrestling games like me, this is the ONLY wrestling game worth checking out.
YES I played this game on an emulator, I really hope I see the arcade cabinet one day
This game is awesome wish it had more characters
definately "in your house" its so terrible, i'd love your opinion on it!
This!
Cuppa Joe I am glad I skipped it. It looks like they cheaply slapped together a sequel to this game and didn’t care very much.
Later this year they are releasing a Wrestlfest type sequel. They got Road Warriors, Nikita Koloff, ECW guys and a lot of indy guys.
No wonder so many WWF characters were ported to Mortal Kombat Project.
2:15 Motcho Man 😂😂😂
Beautiful game
this is hands down on of the best Arcade games of the 1990’s (Midway at there Arcade best) the home arcade ports were ok but, nothing could replace the Arcade machine i probably spent $50 (throughout the years) playing this any time i seen it great game
I got this game when I was 6 and I used to piss my pants because I wouldn't stop playing. Good Times.
I use to have this game back in da day.
Omg top hat! Its real to me damnit!!!!
This game was fun as hell to me
