Main problem with the Acolyte is the script. It just makes no sense. Piss poor story telling, plot holes and bastardising established lore.

And I don't care about your sexual preference or your pronouns. You do you. I didn't watch this to see YOU, I watched this to see the character you are portraying so do a believable job, although, see main problem...
I have Autism, and my kind of fanatical so-called "Special Interest" has always been Disney. These last couple of decades has been rather... rough. They can no longer write. They produce such expensive films, that just doesn't work. The effects and the animation looks terrible. The actors very often cannot act. They have been hired because of their race and gender and history of activism. They absolutely hate the fans of their franchises, who they blame whenever something fails (which is all the time now). Worst of all, they spread Wokeism to an extravagant and astonishing degree. No one of talent still work there. All the best animators, directors and everyone else are out. I enjoy everything from their past - even their biggest failures - Victory Through Air Power, The Black Hole, The Computer Wore Tennis Shoes, but I can no longer watch anything new that they produce. It is absolutely intolerable - and I am Left Wing! I have hated their CEO Bob Iger since the early Nineties, when he ruined Twin Peaks, but these days it is not quite just hate. It must be the Autism-thing, but I feel real sorrow.

@@richardgallagher4880Mandalorian s1-2 were pretty good, a real exception for Disney, Season 3 was 🤮. Andor splits opinion, personally i thought the first 3 episodes were a tie for watching paint dry. Astonishingly boring and cheap looking sets. But (some) of the latter episodes were better (still drawn out and slow paced though), so I’ll give season 2 a try. Overall though Disney is a shocking company and I’m loving watching it lose 10s millions per film and watching the company cannibalise itself. 🍿🤓

Just for the sake of accurate reporting, the clip of her saying “White people crying was the goal” was not about the Acolytes, but from an interview in 2018 discussing her new movie “The hate you give”, the film is about police brutality of blacks and was quite an emotive movie, which highlighted the issue and moved many people who watched it, hence her statement.
The comment is still racist no matter what movie it was associated with.

There's no way to know if you've hired the best person for the job. Applicants aren't ever the same so judgment always is applied in selecting. How do you select among people who meet the qualifications? A manager friend of mine told me that among qualified candidates it becomes a matter of whether the hiring team wants to work with the candidate and sees him/her "fitting in". I mean it sounds right to say we hire the best person, but its an HR myth.
