Glad the controller caught it. This is not uncommon on a canard with a retract front nosegear only and not a big issue if it would land with the front gear retracted since the engine is in the rear and most rest of their nose when parked. I have built 4 canard planes and currently fly one. Also had a brake issue and had to retract the gear to get stopped on the runway. But it would be a big deal if it was a full retract like a Velocity or a few others that elected to go that route.
Oh, but it’s the “busiest airport in the world” this week and “they bring the best controllers in from ORD” and everyone goes goo-goo for it. And every pilot gets a “pass” at Oshkosh this week because it’s “Oshkosh” and any other time you do this shit it a violation from the FAA.
Honestly, it's insanity! This is a super high stress situation. All to FLY IN to what is suppose to be a fun even! Yet, year after year, pilots and passenger die over "FUN". Is it worth it? I think they could spread out the inboard flights and limit traffic to X number per time slot! No INBOUND to the area until called inbound! Keep inboard out until their time slot! Look who usually dies? It's not even the airshow pilots doing high risk stunts! It's private pilots under the most stressful situation possible!
You sound like a helicopter parent, don't let kids try or do anything because they might get hurt. I was driving tractors and small trucks on the farm when I was 12. It's how you learn
It happens every year. The ATC is probably always stressed because there’s always around 10,000-11,000 planes per year.
In a single day?
no, the plane took a sharp turn and stalled
2 hours before this CANARD GO AROUND, CANARD GO AROUND, CANARD GO AROUND they screamed over the radio and then told him YOUR GEAR WAS NOT DOWN.

Why did you use a laugh emoji? Not funny. Two people died. Sick!
Predictable. Boys and their toys eventually catch up to some of them.
Geez. Could you be any less sympathetic?
That's one of the dumbest things I have ever read. Congratudolences.
@@eriklarson9137 you don't get out much, do you...the world is full of dumb things like people killing themselves in puddle jumpers.
Do not think that kid should be driving a golf cart. Maybe not even a passenger on one.
I was driving manual shift trucks and John Deere D60 tractors when I was 14 (bush hogs, plows, discs).
Today's kids can't even read an analog clock.
Do not think you should post comments. Maybe not even a reply.
There are young men and women his age that operate million dollar field equipment on family farms all the time. Get out of here with that......
