Thank you for the tips! I actually have a bag of peat moss we never used and so I’ll be adding and amending my soil in the front for my petunias I’ll be growing for the first time! I was never into petunias until I saw the proven winners type that spread like crazy! 😍 Hope your foot heals quickly 🙏🏼

Peat will definitely help. Thanks for the kind words. 5 more weeks in the boot. 🤦‍♂️

Another great video, Doc! Seeing your (Crimson Queen?) Japanese Maple reminded me of a question/debate you might be able to answer/settle....During the summer heat is it beneficial or detrimental to wet/mist the leaves of Japanese maples (and other non-evergreen plants)? Some say it cools them off and keeps them from scorching some say the water molecules do the opposite because they act as prisms/magnifyers of sunlight and further scorches them. What say you?

Dom, very close!!!! Tamukiyama (sp?). I can't tell crimson queen and tamukiyama apart unless they are right beside each other. This is just anecdotal experience and nothing peer review. I have watered my JM trees in the middle of summer at high noon and noticed spots on the leaves a few days later. I water late evening or early morning.

If shade is 4 ⬇️ hours of sun, what is the solution for plants under 3 Crepe Myrtles that is mostly a deep shade area?
I have bought Astilbe, vrunnera, Hostas, and Coral Bells. Will any of these tolerate this area?

All of them will do well in shade
