When Coach Clap handed to Zeke every first down the defenses were ready. When Dak was throwing for 5000+ yards there were only so many yards to go around. This year they were way behind the first few games. The Cowboys offensive line was decimated and now they are playing with a 3rd or 4th string QB so the defense is focused completely on Zeke. Elliott was great at running through huge holes. Impressive I guess. Most time back then he never had to even change direction. Just run straight where the play was suppose to go and the hole was there. If you watch him and thought he was great. You were fooling yourself. And RB would be great running untouched almost every run for 3.5 yards a pop. I believe that was his yards before contact that year. Impressive runner I guess. That's 850 yards a year without gaining 1 more inch after contact.

I played running back my whole life and I know what makes a good back. He doesn't make people miss, he doesn't create space. He runs into defenders intentionally. Now, he has ball control issues. He has ALWAYS relied entirely on his championship level offensive lines to push him forward. People used to dog Dak and I would would ask why? He came from Mississippi State and beat some of the best teams in football that year. He is one of the best leaders and quarterbacks that I have ever seen. He got MVP at the senior bowl. This guy's has always been a beast even on an average team, he shines. Dog Zeke, not Dak.
Clearly Zeke has lost a step and his quickness/explosiveness. Shannon’s blaming of the OLine (while a factor) is not the story. Even when 21 has clear creases that used to be 15-20 runs are now 4-8 yards runs. I’ve noticed a lack of quickness and speed among Cowboy skill players in the last 2 years. ACTUALLY DeMarco Murray had 1287yrds in 2016 on 293 attempts. He wasn't totally bad. He regained back somewhat.

Clearly Zeke has lost a step and his quickness/explosiveness. Shannon’s blaming of the OLine (while a factor) is not the story. Even when 21 has clear creases that used to be 15-20 runs are now 4-8 yards runs. I’ve noticed a lack of quickness and speed among Cowboy skill players in the last 2 years. Curious if the organization has changed its fast twitch muscle conditioning. Do they do speed work in the off-season.
