ABOUT THE AU:
Mobius : Underground is an Undertale AU inspired by Monster Mix, TS!Underswap, MobiusTale and in a way, DeltaRunner, similarly to the latter, it aims to swap the Undertale characters/aspects for Sonic ones without making it a simple appearance change, as both the roles and even story will partially bend to fit the change, while still having that bit of Undertale vibes on it.

So this has nothing to do with the battle theme, but what if Chara is replaced with Mira Robotnik? I think that would be pretty cool, considering she’s the only human (I don’t think sage is really human tbh) in the sonic games (not the comics, just the games) that’s actually a part of Sonic lore.
Also, I JUST had another thought: What if sans was replaced with Tails? I know this doesn’t exactly sound like it would be the best replacement, but it would make a much better plot twist that AN 8 YEAR OLD WITH AN IQ OF OVER 300 WOULD TAKE REVENGE ON HIS BEST FRIEND, and it kinda would make sense why sonic would be an easy boss fight, because he would probably be WAY too cocky, which would lead to his demise. And also he has WAY TOO MUCH FAITH in everyone.
And also, I forgot to say to original post (since yt won’t let me edit my comment for some reason) that Gerald Robotnik and Ivo Robotnik are also humans that are a part of the lore.
Tails is a better fit for Alphys ngl
