- Congress workers started early celebrations outside the party office, as the party took early leads in the Haryana and Jammu and Kashmir Assembly polls. Polling took place on Saturday in Haryana's 90 assembly seats, with all exit polls predicting a clear majority for the Congress in the agriculture-dominated state. In the Jammu and Kashmir, the party is contestined in an alliance with the National Conference.
