Yeah, let's see how it pans out. I would've preferred Thundercats Origins without a crossover. The Turtles of Grayskull is a horrible line really, and is quite deep already. I hope they make better decisions with this new line... Cheers for watching dude🙏🙏🐵
Hey Monkeyboy! Great to see you back home and not in hospital (although I will admit your vlog was very informative about the one you stayed at, and I quite enjoyed that moment in front of the Christmas tree)! I don't mind Battlecat-Man, but this line is definitely a weak spot in the nostalgia/memberberry category. I too question the merit of "Mum-Skull's" helmet. Cheetara doesn't look bad, but her and Lion-O having removable wigs definitely gives off a weird vibe. In the end, I guess they are living up to the saying "flip your wig"🤔 Anyway, thank you for another great video! I just hope that there won't be a He-Man/Transformers mashup line anytime soon. To me, that one would probably be horrific in the end 🐒👍
I completely agree with your entire comment dude 👍👍 Transformers Of The Universe. I wouldn't bet against that happening one day. Hasbro and Mattel are strange bedfellows though. I won't be getting any of this line myself, but will follow it with interest nonetheless. Thanks for watching brother 🙏🙏🐵
I do like the fact that they have given us the ability to make pure ThunderCats figures with the extra parts etc. I had feared they would give us an inseparable mix of both, like the Turtles of Grayskull line.
I agree for the most part, although I'm not sure there are alternatives to the furry loincloth on Lion-O and the long skirt and corset on Cheetara? I shall have to investigate further... 🙏🙏🐵
I don’t understand why Mattel insists on making MORE Origins crossover lines before actually completing the original MotU line. Then again, it’s not really something that concerns me, so what do I know?
@AllThings80s It certainly seems like they are spinning plates. I'm pleased they started the Cartoon Collection, because those are very good, but I agree that it feels like corporate ADHD. Thanks for watching sir, I really appreciate your support man 🙏🙏🐵
Fascinating- but need pop out quickly to pick up my Wagamamas' to pour over my Dominos' while Mrs me brews us a lovely sinkful of PG Tips and Belgian Lager to wash it all down with... Great Days!
@@MonkeyboysToys of course, but it can become a mystery punch bowl when ‘we’ don’t fish the vegetable peelings out of the plug hole first though. #lifeontheedge
I think these might have been better if they'd just been marketed as Thundercats figures that were compatible with MOTU Origins. I'm not sure there was a need for them to be mash-ups. If I bought these, I'd only display them in their original costumes, as I think most 80s kids would, and I don't suppose they'd appeal much to modern kids, so it's a bit of a strange idea. They're not bad figures, though, to be fair. Years ago, I read Angela Carter's Nights at The Circus. I really felt thick after reading that. Utterly baffling and Incomprehensible to my teenage mind. Recently, I've been reading a book called The Bunker Diary, which is more on my level. Very nearly finished it. Easy to read writing style and genuinely gripping. Take a look at some reviews if you get chance, but watch out for spoilers. Hope all's well, MB. Have a good week. 👍
Mmm, The Bunker Diary is bleak, no other word for it. Very good, but definitely bleak. It's a strange thing that it's classed as a young adult novel. Some of the darkest books I've ever read have been in that category. Bunker Diary reminded me of The House of Stairs, a (young adult) science fiction novel from years ago. I hope the darkness has not seeped into your soul yet, MB. As you know, once you strike down that dark path, forever will it dominate your destiny! 👍
@stephengray8374 Haha, well I have been treading the dark path for over 40 years, but my flame is strong and the monsters rarely approach. I am seldom tempted by the sinister whispering. Sadly, my breadcrumbs ran out in about 1991, so I've no chance of retracing my steps now. I do litter-picking along the way, which makes things a bit nicer for any travellers who come along afterwards 👍👍🙏
Very good. Nothing like a loss of bread crumbs to help secure an interesting adventure. I myself, tend to walk through mirrors and fall down rabbit holes, but the same principle applies. A good day to you, Monkeyboy, you lovely, lovely man. 🐰
Thanks for the heads up on the new He-Cat line from Mattel. Its a $h!t from me, smells like a cheap gimmick to separate love sick nostalgia lovers from their cash. Best on is Battle Cat. That was a great video bringing the latest news with commentary. By any chase do you despise this toyline? 😂 😉
Thanks for the comment dude! I don't despise the line, but it's not one I would buy. I will follow it with interest, but I doubt it will surprise or impress. Wave 2 ideas? I'm guessing Panthro, Tygra, Slythe-Hordak/Slythe-Beast Man and some sort of Teela I expect. A Jackal-Beast would make sense but perhaps too obvious. Cheers brother 🙏🙏🐵
Get 2! Of everything! Yeah definitely poo right there. Cash grabbing , perhaps (most definitely). Does any crossover work with these figures? I’ve seen tees with various crossovers on but, they work because they’re still living in the 2D world. Oh look, it’s almost 7.30 of the clock. I must dash.
Cheers for the comment dude! Yeah, crossovers are always a risky idea. Some things work well together (TMNT Ghostbusters was good, might get those at some point), but other ideas seem doomed from the start. Turtles of Grayskull was/is a terrible idea. Thanks for watching maaaaan! 🙏🙏🐵
@andrewandrew4568 Absolutely 👍 If people like them that's great! I will certainly keep my eye on the line, as it will be interesting to see what's in the next few waves! It's the kind of thing I might pick up loose one day, but it's not the sort of thing I would want on card really. Cheers for watching man! 🙏🙏🐵
@@ActionPopCast You could be right. It's one of those all-in or all-out lines. I'm all-out for now. I will re-assess the situation when Wave 2 arrives perhaps... Thanks for watching, brother! 🙏🙏🤘
I do like the battle cat man, but the skell ra figure is absolutely dreadful. If i was Skeletor I'd be rather upset about it, but at least they come with spare shins. You can never have enough of those.
@TheOire Haha yeah, maybe we're seeing the start of a new trend in action figures; fewer pairs of extra hands, and multiple shins instead. I really don't like Skeletor with horns, but the pure Mumm-Ra option is pretty good apart from the mouth. Not a line I will be spending money on unless I find them on clearance for at least half price, and even then I would likely pass on them. I will follow the line with interest, but at a distance. Thanks for watching dude!
Hey Monkeyboy👋On face value they appear unnecessarily shit. That said, it’s likely I’ll pick up the first wave with the intention of displaying them in the Thundercats version, not the x-over version… Funko/ Super7 have already done a decent version of these already. We’ll have to wait and see how they look in hand!👍👍
@CraigAlanMurray1977 Yeah, I agree dude. Not for me really. I will still follow with interest, but I'm getting tired of all these crossovers now. I did a video a few weeks back featuring the entire Funko Savage World Thundercats line, and I think they are very good indeed. Check out the video if you haven't seen the figures close-up. Thanks for watching sir! 🙏🐵
I'm on a Thundercats kick, but outside of that Battlecat looking MOTu mashup, those are unnecessary. I only like the Battlecat one because it's a nice different look and you can pretend that a spell turned BC into a semi-humanoid. A pass for me, but modern outside of Classified or the occasional thing that strikes my fancy is usually a pass. Hope you're well MB!
@k-dawgbroadcasting5444 Yeah, the Battlecat would fit into the MOTU world quite well. I might've been interested in a TC Origins line, but at this point it feels like our nostalgia is being mocked and exploited somewhat. Thanks for watching man!
Well they are not for me mate. Plastic vomit, I'm sure someone will like them, I mean Mattel have obviously done some market research and found a gap in the market, unless they are in a competition with Hasbro to see who can have the most peg warmers 😂 Nice skate shoes/sneakers, personally I would call them trainers but that's just me 😂
@Retrotoyguysi Me neither dude. I might've been interested in an Origins-style Thundercats line, but these crossovers feel like a piss-take at this point. I will follow the line with interest, but not with my wallet. Cheers for watching man!
Hey there Monkeyboy, interesting concept, it'll be interesting to see how many figures are planned.
