By that time Capital 7 (CTC-7) was already *owned* by Network Ten. Kerry Stokes failed to put Seven into the regional monopoly in Canberra after failing to buy the network, so he sold his Seven stations to Network Ten. It wasn't until aggregation that Ten dropped the "Capital 7" name.
I knew I was in the bush capital in 1981 due to the sheep dip advertisements being a 'drum of drench' for sale. A 24 hour booze licence and adds for massage parlours at the cinema. Servo's all clustered together and no front fences. Not to mention all the clowns allegedly running the country.
i recognize the buildings in 0:18 they are the old parliament house (front) and the new parliament house (back). I also recognize Lake Burley Griffin 1:05.
This brings back so many good memories I wish I had a time machine
Hmmm..they let the "SEVEN is coming through" through...
