    Console yourself with knowing that Kira's last month on this earth was a happy one, being loved. We should all be so fortunate. BTW, explaining things to a cat is wasted breath. They do what they want, when they want.
    Some day I expect you will relent and put up another garden shed for your sheet materials and for things you use rarely that are not weather-sensitive.

    UA-cam may like them, but as a viewer I hate shorts. Even just for the simple reason that a) you can't seek backwards in them if you miss something or want to pause on a shot. And b) they play on repeat. I can't stomach them.

    I have seen people use baby food jars(labeled of course) for small bits like nails, screws, nuts, bolts, and the like. They were fixed to the bottom of shelves. Like maybe lids screwed to the underside of shelves or rails with the lids fixed to them. That way you save shelf space and small bits can be at eye level.

    Suggestion... Make and fit a wall cupboard slightly larger than your Gosforth sign (it takes up a fair bit of your wall space), shelve it to suit some of your stuff put a single door on it and fit your sign to the door.

    You came to the right decision with height with the plug sockets, so when sockets are to be installed on your new build wall ,to comply with part M of the building regs , they should be below 120cm from the finished floor.(and above 45cm)

  • @JK-yf9sx

    Yeah .. I hate shorts too. With the under-stair cupboard, would the area suit those tall narrow roll-out pantry cupboards that are often advertised as suitable to squeeze in beside the fridge? You could have a few in that area to roll forward so you can find wee things lurking at the back. The operative word is 'narrow' so that the contents stay visible.

    Aw, so sorry for your loss. It doesn't matter how long they're with us. I always say that an animal walks into your home and enters your heart at the same time. It's so awful when it's sudden. It's not easy at any time but it's worse when it's sudden. Ah so happy though with your little nugget. Such a little cutie. I hope you do get her brother. We had two solo kittens. One ran off and never returned. One took a terrible fall a week before her 1st birthday. She was gone in about a minute. Since then we were advised to get two kittens if we could. We got a little brother and sister. They're just under 6 months now and it's the best thing we ever did. They keep each other entertained. They're both so much happier than the two solos we had before. It really helps them to have a little buddy. And double the snuggles too!! I would like nugget to get my retrospective cuddle for already being subbed. Thanks for the tour too btw!

    I forgot to add that as an avowed cat lover having been staff to a few I can tell you I'm diggin' the Nugget. It's a given he will rule the house, no question. His cuteness will slay even the grumpiest curmudgeon. I'm sure he's begun obedience training so do as you're commanded or shredded furniture will follow. Probably will anyway.

    I would have fitted the wiring behind the ply- chased into the wall. It really should be wired in a ring. Pegboard allows frequent rearrangement during the 'development' phase. Under shelf lighting- light panels are available in 300mm depth- gives great lighting without shadows. Compressor and dust extraction- mount up in that roof space- You do not need access. The cyclone tub can be up there too. Space under bandsaw too valuable to be on a stand- fit a (wheeled) cupboard instead.

    Hi, good idea to bring things forward from the wall as they are easier to see and reach. Regarding the short planks of wood, what do you use them for? Have you considered Just-In-Time, whereby if you have a consumable item in use, and a backup just like your wood, or so order more when you reach the backup. It gives more space, in my opinion. Well organised workshop. Regards JB

    My workshop is about the same size / shape as yours and it became unusable. Its pretty good now after 1) being BRUTAL with materials and 'stuff'. I chucked and gave away loads of stuff. You can only keep very selective materials / stock and 2) using standard storage systems, in my case systainers for tools and Stanley Fatmax boxes for fittings etc. I enjoyed the video, thanks.

    Andy. Drawing around an object on a wall or shelf is the best thing to do 👍 I was an engineer in a large factory and there were 3 shifts per day. The tools required for size changing etc on a machine/production line were vital that everyone knew where they were and especially if something was missing. We made shadow boards for each area and even took a photo and laminated it to show what should be where. As a lecky like your sockets 👍👍👍

    You could maybe put a rounded corner on the end of the work bench next to the door. I have done this for a kitchen of a similar size. This opens up the space by the door and no corners to bang into. I used Ronseal Diamond hard 'Floor paint' in anthracite in my utility, this was on 90 year old concrete, this seems quite hard-wearing despite being water-based. I expect as you mentioned there is likely some oil on your concrete that has led to the paint not adhering.

  • @C4sp3r123
    @C4sp3r123 2 роки тому +4

    Unless I missed it, did you say what you eventually did with the floor? Leave it as is with the paint issue? Or did you do something more to give you the finish we now see in the video? Also, why actually paint it in the first place? Curious as I have a similar project to do and hadn't thought about painting the floor. Thanks.
