I’m extremely excited for this!!! Thank you Vaughn, for all of your hard work. Just know that you are appreciated and loved!
Annie that is such a wonderful thing to say and it makes my job so much more rewarding !! Thank you!! VG :-)
This was an excellent interview Vaughn. To hear from the man himself, who introduced so many groundbreaking groups (Depeche, Nitzer Ebb, Yazoo, Erasure) to the world through his record label, along with his pioneering work in The Normal, made my night man. Having Gareth on as well just made it that much better. From a musician and early subscriber, thanks so much for bringing this to us. Much appreciated!
You are welcome Pete!! VG :-)
Along with Vince Clarke these gents are our heroes - thanks for interviewing and posting!
You are very welcome !! Thank you!! VG :-)
These guys are behind the huge success of depeche mode.
It’s criminal this channel does not have more subscribers
Mute Records had such a diverse and amazing group of artists
Looking forward to seeing Sunroof this week and also next month supporting Vince Clarke playing his solo album.
Two legends in electronic music! Such a pleasure to hear their experiences! Biggest respect for the work you do and have done. Thanks Vaughn for making this possible.
It’s amazing that you get to speak with Daniel Miller. Apart from all other obvious things, please thank him for his World In My Eyes mix that was one of the four songs that made a DM fan
those guys are awesome, they are part of the band in a big way.
Totally agreed on defining Mr. (!!!) Daniel Miller as the Godfather of the Electronic music!
Daniel Miller! You come closer to the boys!
Never say Never !! VG :-)
Oh my gosh!! I have been asking “Produce Like A Pro” channel to interview these guys for ages, and my comment is always ignored. SO GLAD TO SEE THIS INTERVIEW! Unbelievable productions, absolutely game changing stuff that pushed the boundaries of the art of popular music. Thanks for this interview! 👏
You're very welcome !! VG ;-)
Wonderful. We have so much to thank these two gentlemen for. -Andy Ry Denmark
Very cool to see so cool people together!
Hi VG, Gareth and Daniel 👋👋📺 Fantastic 🙏🙏😘😘🥳🥳❤️♥️😉😉
Very nice watching your conversation with Daniel and Gareth. Sunroof is very interesting, I'm giving them a listen now on Spotify.
I think I suggested to Warren Huart like someone else here did that he interview Gareth (and John Fryer as well). Thanks for this. Obviously, any interview with Daniel Miller is also of interest to me. I'm new to your channel - do you ever cover Fad Gadget? An interview w/Daniel about Frank is something I would be very interested in. I think DM got a lot from Fad Gadget at a certain point.
Thank you Vaughn such a great interview session :)
You're welcome brother!! VG :-)
Great work Vaughn. Congrats on the interview with the Tonmeister and Sir Dan Miller 🥂✨
Thank you Anders!! VG :-)
Hi Vaughn, thanks for the great interview! With ties to the Parallel Series, I was wondering if there might be an interview with Paul Kendall sometime? Thanks again from Arizona! 🌵 Subbed.
inspiring individuals. thank you!!
You are very welcome James!! VG :-)
This iis great! I love how down to earth these guys are. Absolute pioneers and just awesome over all.thanks for doing this Vaughn. its great Daniel Miller joined in on the fun!
Been subbed since year dot (11 subs) so it was great to see these two together. From the beginning of DM’s halcyon period and the Deutchland hansa phase. Love it.
This is awesome 😎
Congrats on this, Vaughn George. I enjoyed this episode tremendously!
Glad to hear it Rob and thank you!! VG :-)
Thank you so much for doing these interviews with Gareth Jones and Daniel Miller VG 🙏🏻🙏🏻😘😉🥳 it was beautiful 🔝🆒👍💯👌💪With you it's always a total success for all of us 🙀🙆😻😱 You are the best and a VG geni 🎉🤩 Wooooow 😀😀 WELL DONE 👏👏👏 Fantastic 🔝🆒👍💯👌😄😆♥️💝
Great will watch for sure🙃
Daniel Miller is most definitely a genius. It was obvious in the work he did with silicon teens and fag gadget. Even though Gareth may have been reluctant to work with DM initially, I'm so glad that he did bc the results were amazing 😍❤️❤️ Keep up the great work Vaughn. I love your videos my friend.
Frank Tovey was another genius.
Yeah the 80s stuff that Dan and Gareth did together with DM still just holds up as incredible sonic art. Never mind ‘pop music,’ it was sound art. Some may think it sounds dated but i don’t agree, it was startling at the time, and timeless by way of being outside the mainstream, because it was so different and artistic. And in 15 years suddenly a new generation of 20-somethings will ‘discover’ those records and then suddenly they will be heard as being incredibly new and visionary by that generation. Which of course, some of us have known since they were released.
3 very kind guys!
Geek Talk taken up a notch ! (our amps go from 10 to 11). Thank you for the info and the post. I liked what Daniel said about recommending his students use 8 tracks when writing. I typically use anywhere from 8 to 15 tracks myself in my hobby studio ( sans vocal, guitar and time code tracks )
Excellent!
Legends
Looking forward to the new Sunroof Improv. 2 album.
Hope they perform in the US (NYC?) sometime !!!
What a terrific and insightful interview, Vaughn. Thank you very much for it!
Glad you enjoyed it Andrew! VG :-)
It's Mr. Gareth Jones and "The" Daniel Miller. 😄
Ahhh, silicon teens & the normal. Thanks to Daniel for all the bands he shown us.
I would love to see an episode looking at the David Sylvian album 'Brilliant Trees'. An iconic album.
@@vadimislearningguitar4977 absolutely, it was such a complex album with so many textures. I loved 'weathered wall'. Thanks for your comment. 💗
Need to get Steve Davis on the next group chat 😂
Can you do a clip about your thoughts on Kajagoogoo?
where can i buy the vinyl edition of Gareth"s debut abum ?...ps thanks for all your work on this Vaughn
Hello Henrik. You can purchase it at the Vaughn George Webstore: www.vaughngeorge.com/product-page/gareth-jones-electrogenetic-vinyl-record
He is the godfather
He is indeed!! VG :-)
Drain about Alan 🙃
*Ohhhh yeah* !! Vaughn with all the 'goody good' peeps in his circle.
p.s. Vaughn if you didn't see my comment on post 'live' video....I am
SO seeking out the remixes of first release after all TOO long. I am
underwhelmed w/h the Ghosts Again release by the gents {I own
that...others feel different and I respect such}. I was left wanting more
oomph and ???? else. Anyhoo I am finding heaps of remixes to now
*fill the void*. I am not buying album 'til hear rest and to share I 'have'
been 'there/here' since late '81 or early '82 {across the pond relatives
sent albums often}. I am younger than the lads, but was heavily
into music from about age 10 due to age of siblings & 'hip to the groove.
parents.
Also hellllo the majority of 'said' accompanying video, minus first 1: 34 min/sec mark,
and handshake of course....what was THAT in between such?!
Exciting said 'rant' now haha.
Hello you, I hope you're well! If you want some "oomph" then do Check out the new "1984" EP by "Vaughty". Don't take my word for, just ask the fans. VG :-)
p.s. Ok I am back --I am even MORE upset--did you see the boys on Sanremo 2023 just today or last night maybe (y'all can easily find on the Googler Schmugler). METALLIC thread fabric
MATCHING various garments the lads are sporting incl. their addtl. keyboardist. OMG that jacket Martin has is just BAD. Worse now Dave thinks those horrrrendous boots need to be sported in WHITE or cream!! Ghosts Again was not even made better LIVE ....so that is
stressing me. No special effects or OOMPHING!!
Rant over.
Everyone needs to go get their oomph from remixes now it seems and of course
via our Vaughn's new stellar album
👍🇬🇧🎹🎶
I'm not sure I agree that todays easy access to creating music is all that positive. In a way it was already fairly easy when Daniel made The normal, the difference is you just had to want to do it a little more and think a little harder to realize it but it wasn't actually that difficult in practice, even so the limitations made it simpler, easier and faster in some ways but of course in other ways it forced you to become more creative, and that's a very good thing as what you'll end up with is more likely to be of any quality. To limit your brain to focus on what is actually important makes a pretty huge difference to the end result.
The audience will treasure it more too if they know it couldn't been done by just anyone from anywhere. Nowadays you really have to wade through a lot of crap to find the nuggets.
Terrific interview, Vaughn!
Also, could you kindly ask Mr. Jones about his work on the album "A Bell Is A Cup" by Wire (it was released on Mute in 1988). That LP is the finest example of electronic/rock combination with exquisite pop songwriting, and imo a real standout in Gareth's catalogue. It would be interesting to hear how they managed to achieve such sound.ua-cam.com/video/rWmB52CwNmo/v-deo.html
Spot on. Totally agree
Does Daniel live in Malaga????
Probably in Berlin.
I think you're getting very close to doing interviews with Depeche Mode, Alan Wilder & Vince Clarke / Erasure. Prepare yourself. It's just a ? of time.. 😀
Tvod
this is just small talk , nothing interesting....everybody was saying what they wanted, not related to producing music but day to day life
