Thank you for this lesson!!! Looked everywhere for one that was at the right level. The way you teach and the way you play are both lovely. Many thanks for bringing some 80's joy to practice time! ; D
No one has ever covered this song. Perhaps it is a challenge but I would like to see it if you can figure it out. Thanks and good luck. The title of the song is: It's 2am by Shemekia Copeland.
Hey Larry... I just checked out the song (found it here on UA-cam). I would say it is a pretty straight forward song in a classical blues scheme and a little riffing. I think there are two approaches to such a song: Either you can figure out what the guitar is exactly playing, which I think is not too difficult, but the problem is that it will really only work in the context of how the song was performed originally (in this case with a whole band setup). The other approach is to make an arrangement for a duo setup (e.g. guitar and vocals). This is typically more work, you will see that a lot of acoustic covers of well known songs will only really sound good, if you do this kind of arrangement work. The basic chords of this song are: Verse: G# Major, C# Major Bridge: D# Major, C#Major Chorus: G# Major, C# Major (same as verse) In the verse and the chorus, the electric guitar will throw in a minor third (E) once in a while, which gives it this bluesy feeling. In blues you refer to these "bluesy notes" as the blue note, which give them this nice flavour. I hope this is helpful! :-)
some chords might be wrong they don't like the right note .. more over that kind of nylon strings doesn't fit that song which need more metallic sound...
It's ok to like different kinds of music. You don't need to feel bad if you like Whitney Houston - most anyone with ears does. This song has also been covered by an all male country bad. Time to respect diversity and slither out from under your rocks, lizards! Have a blessed day.

Hey brotha no hate here, just saying you will get more subscribers if you don’t talk so much for no reason
I agree
I disagree. Didn't notice anything until you brought it up, and even after reading your comment, it doesn't seem too talky to me at all.
You speak to much
