I believe we have the President we need at this time, that does not mean I like everything he has to say however I really like his policies. Going forward we as a nation are going to need more and more leaders like General Mattis.
Did he comment on his maxim, ‘verify, then trust’, in the context of being fooled by fraudster Elizabeth Holmes when a board member of failed blood testing startup Theranos? By endorsing her and praising her integrity he enabled Theranos to put thousands of patients’ at risk from faulty blood tests, while resulting in over $700M in investment losses. Did he comment on trying to skirt FDA with his attempt to get the flawed technology deployed in Afghanistan? No lessons learned? Well, he’s trying to sell a book about how wise he is....

Zorka Kelly I suspect he’d prefer that the Theranos stain on his reputation be forgotten. It does, however, show that his ‘verify, then trust’ lesson should be taken with a grain of salt, because we’re all human and, as he admitted, can be fooled by those we regard as trustworthy, especially when a noble, humanitarian cause is involved.
That’s exactly the issue. Just because some cause is promoted as noble doesn’t excuse the need for due diligence. He fell for it. His due diligence consisted of asking two MD board members for their opinions. Neither was involved in clinical chemistry and apparently didn’t bother to research the feasibility of what Theranos promised either, possibly because they were all constrained by NDAs.
We need a real warrior and moral leadership. MATTIS 2020!!! Semper Fidelis
Mattis sat out the Vietnam War in college. Those of us drafted were taken out of college.
D Storm General Mattis enlisting in 1969 better than never serving at all like Trump.
I love General James Mattis
God bless Jim
