1) he's old, his endurance can be so top notch
2) he hasn't either a solid boxing or martial arts background
it's going to be nearly impossible for him to compete.
consider Brock, he was a proper wrestling phenom (i mean the real wrestling) yet he still struggled.
unfortunately by now MMA is full of talented and well prepared guys who grew up with a complete MMA fighter background
Yeah I was wrong....He was sloppy but pulled off the win. Bautista is a good person, and I wish him all the best in MMA.

i think that he will do great. Lesnar punked out. Batista can fight and has been training for mma for years. and i think he will be amazing. GO DAVE!!

Ive done trained under a filopino knife and stick fighting instructor and the strikes were very different to punches i can imagine this sort or training increases reaction time but i would question its effectiviness to being striked at or kicked.
lesnar had a good run; won a title and defended it against a brutal shane carwin. no shame in losing to velasquez who's one of the top contenders in the heavyweight division. considering he joined mma late and had to battle constantly through illness he did mma proud.
Good luck to him.. debuting in MMA at 43? That's pretty nuts. He's obviously a very athletic dude and power is the last thing that leaves a fighter, but its a tough sport, and even the greats don't stay much longer than their 40s.. Couture retired at 47. But whatevs! Looking forward to seeing his debut

in kali. ilipino martial arts the concept of knife fighting or bolo fighting is the same punching.
But note: Batista has asthma, just look how hard Batista's breathing was at the end of his fight, in the post fight interview, he was huffing, and puffing.
He is training with the Gracie's, maybe they can help him overcome that issue.

Batista isn't looking to get "far". he is aware of his age, and the shape he is in. Would he like to be somewhere big such as Strikeforce/UFC? Well, I'm sure, but that's not his goals. His goal is to have a few professional MMA fights, so he can live that part of his dream he has not yet to accomplish yet.

Its just lucky for Batista that your allowed to use TRT now in the UFC so that will help him a bit. I think he still has to lose more muscle though I think his cardio won't be good enough for a 5 round fight imo
I actually liked the low kicks. Their quick non telegraphed and will distract and cause a reaction if done over n over.
Please batista is a monster, forget the wwe that's theatrical im speaking on who he us and how hard he trains he and how hard he can actually hit he's gonna be slow out the gate but he'll warm up and smash a few i look forward to his match against Rashid Oct 6 :) should be a good one

I think he's gonna have a problem keeping his hands up. You drop them during training you'll drop them in the cage but those kicks look like they'll take a house down!
i wish him well:) he looks to have some very decent skills:) wouldn't want to get punched by the guy:) or kicked:) can't wait for his debut:) i think cardio will be a problem for him and i don't know how his wrestling is:)
