How are there a bunch of YT commenters who think they should be telling a guy who "flamed out" in the NFL that he doesn't know ball/film breakdown? Do you guys know how hard it is to "Flame Out" of the NFL??? GREAT VIDEO.
What's interesting is there's more than a couple of former NFL QBs who are high on Daniels' as a prospect. Equally, those same former QBs (Simms, JT O'Sullivan, Warner, Chase Daniels, and Kurt) are all down on Maye as an immediate impact player compared to the consensus
@@DreamBird1 Right. Some are more down than others on Maye, but all of them think he needs to grow, and I completely agree with that. 4:36 I’m pretty sure was a coverage check that Saban calls 7 Stubbie. It’s one of his favorite checks from 77 vs empty trips. Basically a split field coverage with the short side of the field playing match quarters, and then a match/box/triangle coverage, whatever you wanna call it, on the front side. The outside corner plays man on the #1 no matter what. The apex carries the #2 vertical, unless the #3 breaks, then he passes the #2 to the safety over top. The mike carries anything short and inside, no matter who breaks in. The safety takes any vertical route by the #3, or from the #2 if the #3 breaks out early (in which case the apex carries the #3 to the flat) Saban calls match quarters “77” and he calls the frontside bracket concept “stubbie.” So the check is “7 stubbie.” In that play safety was playing that deep because he was trying to figure out who was going vertical. The apex is carrying the #2 vertical as he was supposed to. When the #2 goes over top of the #3, the mike tries to wall off the inside, in case it’s a deep dig. When no one breaks in early against this coverage, the mike ends up just playing the seam. That’s why it looks so muddy. The apex carries the #2 vertically just like he’s supposed to. The safety recognizes that the #2 is bracketed by the mike inside, so he flips back across to the #3, because he realizes that no one’s covering him. And the corner just takes the #1 The mike and apex aren’t supposed to switch tho. That’s why you see 13 hesitate after the #2 and #3 cross. They only did it because both players had a leverage advantage. Definitely a more exotic coverage, and one that can definitely be exploited if you know it’s coming. It’s hard to hold up for that long in scat protection, but if you hold the weak side safety low, bait the apex deep with a post from the #2, and run a delayed dig with an outside stem from the #3, you can usually bait the mike into dropping deep and giving up an alley for the #3. I think that’s what LSU was trying to do, just using a switched stem concept with the #2 and #3 for eye candy. Who knows tho I’m not in those meetings and it could be something completely different
It 1000% was a check. I coach this!!! I was saying the exact same thing. We’ve been seeing in the NFL and I think more and more teams will be running it

I know nothing about reading defenses and things like that but I do watch enough football and I’m just curious, why is it in the nfl you see some receivers sit in that zone coverage when they have yards of open space ahead of them. Like that just seems like the normal thing to do. Where in college I’m seeing the receivers like run deeper into the coverage. Is that drawn up in the nfl for them To just find the soft spots or is that just something an nfl receiver knows to do?
why did u pick and choose a game that you felt was underrated for JD when for Maye you simply watched his last college game blindly? I enjoy ur commentary just thought it weird to switch up the process when picking a game to breakdown

I saw a review of the same game and the plays this guy praises are the same ones of which this other guy was very critical. The analysis was that Daniels has a lot to learn and doesn’t make pro throws. Just goes to show this isn’t science.
Even with the bias, nothing on tape stands out. This kid is meh. I went back to compare him to RG3. Not even close. RG3 was electric and had a whip of an arm. All I see is average arm strength and inability to make easy throws. No tight windows and contrary no over the middle throws unless they are wide open.

"Lazy routes". Daniels is throwing to two 1st round talents, Maye's throwing to maybe a 2nd round receiver? I definitely feel a lack of consistency in these reviews.

The argument is that Jayden Williams is a #1 or #2 pick in the entire NFL draft. I haven't seen anything in this content to show that he's elite. He's making throws that any QB, no matter if they are starters or third string QBs can make. I did watch this game, and it was better than the FSU game until he was knocked out. Doesn't look good for him. He telegraphs where he's going with the ball. NFL defensive backs are going to have a field day. Lol.
None of Drake's receivers are open and he blames Drake. In fact, he tears him up. Daniels can't make easy throws, and he blames the receivers and coaches.
I see multiple interceptions if he performs like this in the NFL. He throws into double coverage. Bad decision for a 5th year QB. He was benched the year before. He's a 3rd round developmental QB whose ceiling is Tyrod Taylor. His receivers are so talented they get the secondary entire focus which opens up his running game. Nothing special. @@darrendipiro3704 he's in a schemed offense and lacks ability to read offenses. Anyone, who can run a 4.6 40 can take off when all of the receivers and secondary are expecting a throw. Soooooo, u choose one of JDs best games and one of Mayes worst games? Ok, nice analysis!
It's not JD's fault he had to play one of the best college defenses with the most NFL-ready prospects to have one of his best games 🙂
Your manner of stopping the video five or six times within the play is pretty annoying. Here's a suggestion: show the entire play first, THEN come back to your breakdowns.
Sounds like you should go watch someone else.
