I love NIN, I love AL…that said, I have always felt torn about this song, here’s why… Waaaay back in the day, my ex-hubby and I took my at the time preteen kids to see Maroon 5, matchbox 20, and Sugar Ray at the then called Pepsi Center now, Ball Arena in Denver. At the end, for an encore, all lead singers came out and sang this song. I WAS FLOORED!! I’m not a prude by any means, I get down to get down, but not in front of my KIDS!!! I know every word to this song, back and forth…may have even sang it to my then hubby in an intimate situation…I dig the song! But to have 3 fairly PG groups (at the time…Adam from M5 has come forward lately as a…well, freak, and I LOVE it!) belt this song out on stage like any other song with no preamble, no “hey, lil ears might not want to hear this” stunned me! I tried not to make to big of a deal about it…started collecting our belongings and head towards the exits…like it was no big deal…but my 12 yo daughter said “That’s a NIN song isn’t it?” Well, my lily white impression of myself as a “perfect” parent was blown to hell (how did she know that? Has she heard me in the bedroom? AAAAHHHH!!! How do I fix this!!!???) and I told her it was, and we went on about our lives. So, now seeing and hearing AL do this in concert messes with me…my daughter is now a surgeon (I must have done something right), and I don’t know if she even remembers that…but I do and…I don’t even know…I had to tell someone this story…I hadn’t thought about it in a loooong time, so, you folks are it! I don’t even know why…it came in my head, and now I can’t get the image out, but DAMMIT AL is so sexy and I don’t know what to do with any of this! Send help!!!😂 Oh…here’s a funny add on…I have tix to see Adam in Denver, at what used to be The Pepsi Center, now Ball Arena in September…if he sings this, my head could actually fucking explode!🤯😝🥰
