My senior college thesis was a deconstruction of parochial values and their impact on a post-Kennedian social structure in the Mid Atlantic states using Trailer Court Tramps as primary source. What a fun find! Have fun listing all that!
8:37 I used to love playing with my hair in the 60's and it was really long. But I was 5'10" in high school, which would've been in the 70's, so if I had done my hair like that, I really would have towered over all the boys! LOL 9:54 A couple of hours ago, a friend of mine and I were talking about Dr. Kildare! Now, I would've probably gone my entire life without even hearing the name Dr. Kildare again and I'm sure I haven't thought of him since the 60's, and now he's been brought up twice just this evening! 😳 12:25 Trailer Court Tramps. Oh, how funny! You know what would be great to do with that one? Remember the video you did where you glued book covers on pieces of wood? That cover would be great for that!
For odor, I have been using Gonzo Odor Eliminator volcanic rocks. I put a bag of them in a large plastic bin and put the whole bin inside a large plastic bag. It does a surprisingly good job on cigarette smoke and other odors. The rocks can be "recharged" or have the odors desorbed out of them by putting them in the sun outside or I aim a heat gun on them (not too hot). It takes weeks for tobacco odor to get reduced.
Shane, today on Justin Resells, he was pointing viewers in the direction of other youtube resellers, for categories he's not familiar with. I "shouted you out", lol, for books.
Somewhere in America there are going to be some happy people to buy these lots; especially I those nurse books. Every once in a while you get that feeling, that true curator of the lost moment when you are not just a reseller but you feel called upon to get these objects into the right hands. Cool finds Shane!
Shane - can you do a video on how to list books efficiently? I love the treasure hunt aspect of finding books, but I hate listing them because I am so slow at it. It takes me 30-45 minutes to completely list a book, from doing the pricing research (sold comps and current asking prices/competition, Vialibri), selecting all the details from the eBay pick lists, inspecting and writing a condition description, taking and cropping photos, writing a book description if it an unusual book, etc.
Fun find on the paperbacks! What I’ve done at times is wrap musty-smelling books in a dry towel and put them in the microwave. Might want to test this out first, but it’s worked for me! Thanks for your fun videos!
Might add "GGA" (good girl art) on the sleaze, seems to be a keyword for those types. I know the smell you are talking about, just a perk of the trade.
Curious if you have a treatment for books that have the old book smell combined with the rich classic cigarette smoke of someones study from 1950. I've found big boxes of pulp like this, but the smoke smell was strong. Any tips?
Those trailer court ladies can be quite trampy, huh? LOL! Very interesting pickup - not the type of books that you usually buy. But that's why I love selling books - you never lack for variety! I hope you feel better, soon. You still sound a bit under the weather. :)
Fantastic books. Wonderful to see.
Thanks to you I picked up a raggedy covered mythology book and flipped it really fast for $24. Thank you

You have made me fall in the floor laughing! Too funny and I’m suspecting this may not too big of a stretch!😜

Nice! I will have to check them out!

Nice! I appreciate the shout out and support!!!
Loved the title Trailer Court Tramp.😅
Hope to meet you one day scrounging for books. Me and my husband are beginning book selling this year. We enjoy listening to you talk about reselling

I think you are right- this is the type of stuff that someone will cherish when it comes in. I truly love when that happens!
Trailer Court Tramps is very rare and has a sold comp on ebay for $90!
Yeah!!!! Thanks for the heads up!

This is definitely on my to do video list and I have a bunch of tips that work for me. I will do it very soon!

Pulp fiction is my favorite, even before I started selling books. Precursers to Romance novels with Fabio on the cover. Thanks Shane!
I’ve never found the Nurse Cherry Ames series in the wild. I like finding those old vintage sets.
I sold a Trailer Court Tramps last summer for about $100.
Nice fund. Plenty to sell singles that get $10+ total

Ozone generator gets rid of all those smells. Works wonders on mildew, cigarette and pet smells.
I will check it out!
Those deals don't come around often. Great find.
I just set the books in fresh air (like your garage) for a month & the smell dissipates significantly. Those were some pulpy ones!!
Two Trailer Park Tramps go ‘round the outside, ‘round the outside, ‘round the outside.
I adore the vintage paperback
Thanks all for the suggestions on the odor. I sell paper sewing patterns and run into the “smell” with them as well. Fun finds!

And the companion series: Motor Court Floozies…
