You're correct in that sharks are not mammals, but less then half shark species lay eggs, the other roughly 60% have live births.

You both are right! Sharks are fish not mammals but half of them lay eggs and the other half have live births. Not all mammals give birth though, platypus lay eggs! Finally my major in Zoology is helping haha.
