I love the Pitt SB markers, I have the black/grey set in SB and it was definitely worth buying. I use it when urban sketching but is useful in all kinds of situations of course! The red brown is gorgeous, reminds me a bit of quin burnt scarlet (DS). Tempting!
That set of gray markers is on my wishlist, so it's great to hear your thoughts on it, Sarah. I've just now looked up the DS Quinacridone Burnt Scarlet and you're right - it's a gorgeous brownish red.

Turner also has a Benz brown (Pbr25) that looks slightly more brown, but I might need to play with it more to find out. Love the jokes btw 🤣🤣

Awesome video! I really like the color, it would make nice shadows on red roses and so forth. Reminds me a bit of the darker alizarin crimson which has the other name too. Never for one minute think that you art work isn’t worthy to share. It is beautiful and just don’t pay attention to any naysayers. We all continue to learn and nobody knows it all. I have some wc pans firming up for someone I know. I think I might put a bit of wax paper over them just in case. The wc pad looks like great quality. I ordered a sketchbook since I will be looking at the ceiling for a bit and painting might be messy. It was the pentalic field book. I have tried the wc book and liked it in the past, then I have a giant one that I made for wc so well I ordered that. I will have to let you know how it works out. Maybe I will sketch a few stickmen at least. The Migello palette looks awesome!! I hear that that brand is lovely and it is! And it is so transparent too. Very cool. Regular old Soft scrub makes your palette white again. Whether you use the Mr. Clean sponges or the Soft Scrub (not the spray) you will definitely want to rinse them well. Love your painting and wait to see your next video.

Also if you want to stop the beading on the mixing pan, then scrub it gently with a Brillo pad. The slight scratches gives the paint something to hold on to…..👊🏽
Red Brown is quite interesting color, I think. I like to mix it with Ultramarine for muted purples.
You can prep the palette with a magic clean eraser. It seems like Mission Gold paints still beat up a bit... and there are some colors that will stain the palette like the Phthalo and the Pyrrol colors. I think it has to do with the honey content in the paint so... It's always good to have a sponge around.

I'm in the process of building a palette with Mijello watercolors as they are on sale (34-37% off) in an artshop close to where I live. Red Brown is on my short list but I was unsure it would suit me and how it would behave in mixes. Your video has been very informative and useful to make up my mind. It will definitely stay on my list. Thank you !

Great one Irene! That mech pencil you used I love those. The 2.0 lead is amazing for loose Wabi Sabi drawings. Here I've been going purseless through the pandemic. I'm ready to get back to carrying again. I know we gotta dump those receipts. My husband hands me his like I want it!?? When I got married my husband needed something in my purse. He came to me and asked would I get it for him (probably stamps). I said nah you can go ahead and find it yourself. You never know what's in the purse cave😆. Those Mijello colors are lookin good.👍
😅 I used to tote around large bags, but I've scaled down over the years. There was even a time where I managed to get away with NO bag - I shoved my keys and wallet in my pockets. Now, I'm older and wider and my jeans are too tight for that. Love the 'purse cave'.
ooo I had been curious about bee paper for a while. that gentle color dispersion on the first page looks so dreamy~ and wow yeah I had never noticed before how that brown dilutes to such a soft pink! :0
This was a bit of an eye-opener. I mean, I knew I liked the color, but it was fun discovering it's characteristics. Its transparency is fantastic.

What is Quinaphthalone Yellow Light? I searched for it but all I could find is Quinaphthalone Yellow PY138.
The 'Quinopthalone Yellow Light' here is PG138. Mijello has some unusual names for certain colors which can be confusing. I'm embarrassed about neglecting to include the pigment codes in this session - my apologies! For later videos in this series, I made sure to include that information with the swatches.
