I too am a numbers guy and the lesson you gave today is invaluable, in that even with the experience you have you still check blade tension rather than tapping and checking for tone which is different for each type of blade. I like Morse or Starrett which are pricey but give consistant results, Great video I am hooked. Ray Stormont

@@BeardedLumber I am excited to hear that you are going to build a kiln can't wait I had thought about building one years ago using solar hot water for heat (largest operating expense) with collectors enclosed in glass sealed arrays easily able to create near boiling water during day with a small cirruclating pump into a 500-1000gal arig. water/fertilizer storage tank. 40' container partioned off at length I needed and doors cut for side loading balance of container for equip and hot water tank storage with freezer/smoker fan coils for air circ. and heating inside kiln, fan coils controlled by 28 day timer heat controlled by thermostat to small pump from hot water tank to fan coils. Place container on automotive /truck scales allowing a daily check giving water removal each 8lbs=1gal,water. Kiln water condensing unit purchased from kiln mfg. My numbers at time said operating costs 55% lower and Kiln construction less than 25% as a DIY project. Ray

If you used a LT40 it comes with a pressure gauge for blade tension and allows a deeper cut (from blade to upper frame). I believe it can cut a bigger log (36" diameter with 28" between blade guides). I have been using a LT40 for 6 weeks and I was surprised how the blade tension changes with just a few cuts. I have learned a lot from watching your videos. Thanks. Mike S.
